I rewicked it with a different type of cotton and cut the cotton a little shorter and it is doing fine now!
Good reading you've seemed to correct the problem.
Please allow me a minor suggestion. You may want to keep a .50 clearance in the top part of the coil. Here's a quick text picture looking through the coil from an end.

This top clearance allows for better air and juice flow through a coil. It does at least for myself. Having learned this from doing it enough and seeing it help, I think it worth passing along. You can take it and use it or not, no permission needed either way. It's only something I think warrants considering, passing on.
