In theory, it should be possible. However, the tricky part would be to connect the balancing wires properly. You need to be able to balance charge the LiPo, otherwise it won't live long.

I have to see this as an odd project.

The RX and DNA Reuleaux models were concurrent results of a Wismec & JayBo collaboration with several goals in mind, as I see it...

Replace the short lived LiPo packs with the more commonly available 18650s.
Create a comfortable enclosure to accommodate three cells for higher WHr count and provide a true 200w which can not be done with just two 18650s.

And you want to put LiPos back in? :)

ETA: I'm right now reading the brief of the EVOLV infringement suit against Joyetech and it would appear the RX was not concurrent, but rather a slightly later JT product to compete with their licensed DNA model.
This does not sit well with Evolv.

The rest of what I said stands. :)

as i understand it the rx200 is the direct result of dna200 screen supply shortages. the took jaybo's design and applied to their chip to answer demand for the 200watt 3 battery device.

I doubt that is the case. I cannot see a shortage on $150+ mods with boards that cost $80 each. The sales would not even get close to what the RX200 is doing for under $50 in most cases. Wismec and Joytech got GREEDY and wanted to put out cheaper mods to get HUGE volumes in sales. 1,000 RX200 mods sold for $50 makes a lot more money than 10 DNA200 mods sold at $150+ dollars each. The profit for China is in cheap ass mods at high volumes. Unfortunately, I believe we as vapers suffer from this more than anyone. If you buy than $50 mod instead of the $150 one, you may be saving $100 now, but that Chinese mod may only last 1 or 2 months. Than what? You buy another $50 mod and another and another and before you know it, you've now spent over $200 when that $150 mod is still chugging along 1 year later. I have DNA30 devices that still work great. I have a DNA40 device that has given me no issues whatsoever. I am awaiting my DNA200 right now. I do own an RX200 mod and I think it is nice, but I am sure my DNA200 will outlast it. Time will tell I guess. I have some China mods that have lasted quite awhile, but some that died also. I think with China it is hit or miss. You may get a mod that lasts 2 days or 2 years.

I guess all I am saying is that I believe in American quality more than China quality and I am willing to pay for it once in awhile. Like everyone else though, I do not always have the money to buy the high end gear, so I have China made mods too.

Man I must be tired. I am sorry to have even written this post as it is completely ridiculous and just me rambling on and on.

No, but the derail is entirely my fault, Sorry OP.
It deserves its own thread... someone, please do so.
I had just started the 8 page ECF thread and took the time to actually read the 24 page court document before coming back to ETA my post above.

The topic is... LiPo-ing a Reuleaux... and... go! :p

Even if you could rig something... why would you want to.

Does anyone have a ballpark life span for the LiPo packs in the better devices such as Tesla or others?
Want to get another device with a built in like the new Tesla Nano 60W
Any opinions?

I don't have any high watt LiPos to compare for you, sorry.

We have a few RC fans here as well who've used that tech for years, I'd take their word for the durability of the packs.

But when I said "short lived"... I meant total Whr capacity/runtime, not longevity.
I believe the LiPo's advantage is higher Amp draw capacity... much higher.

Or is runtime what you're asking about as well? :p

Yes, depending on the C rating (discharge rate in vape terms) of the LiPo pack, you can draw more Amps. For the DNA200 mods, they are usually around 25C. A battery with a discharge rating of 10C would mean you could theoretically & safely discharge it at a rate 10 times more than the capacity of the pack, a 15C pack = 15 times more, a 20C pack = 20 times more, and so on. Therefore, if you have a 1000 mAh LiPo with 25C rating, you can safely discharge it at 25.000 mA, or 25 A. Another advantage is, that a LiPo pack charges quicker. However, they don't like to be crashed hard, 'cause it might damage the internal structure of the pack, which can result in the pack starting a fire. There are plenty of videos on the tube showing R/C Helicopters catching fire shortly after the crash. Luckily nothing like that has happened to my Helicopters yet.

Plan to use a lipo pack when I build my regulated box mod.I will use the balance leads to charge the pack.I have been flying R/C Planes for 10 years and the chargers we use have a balance port on them. You can pick one up for $15 to charge our small packs( I have 16V 5000 mA packs). So make sure the battery you will use has a balance lead on it and use the proper charger,Problem solved. I buy from Hobbyking.com..
Change of subject. Were do you buy regulated chip sets,What site ??? Thank you

the rx 200 doesn't have a DNA board in it? I'm not sure I understand the questions

The Wismec DNA200 was a device I really wanted, and I can clarify for a while it was very hard to get hold of one in the UK, and I was told it was due to shortages of the board from various shops.
The shop I originally ordered mine from changed my order for me to an Efusion, and included some free things for the trouble as I had waited for quite a while to get the device.
I managed to get one at a later date when they was available again.

You are right in what you are saying that 1000 $50 RX200 devices will sell more and make more money for Joyetech/Wismec as most go for this model, I have the DNA200 version, the original RX200 and an RX 2/3. The RX200 has actually held up well and for the money I think it is a fantastic device though.
But as you say, it can be hit or miss if it will last or not. The only thing I can say is the DNA200 version has the same components, such as 510 pin, as the cheaper RX200, so a failure due to these components or workmanship could still be possible with the more expensive device, it just has a better board.

I am like you in the way that I don't mind paying out for a more expensive device every now and then, but a lot of my mods are chinese devices, out of 25 regulated mods 4 are DNA devices with a 5th on the way, so a lot are Chinese. I do feel that US mods are of a higher quality than their chinese counterparts though.
