As an electrical engineer working for a lithium polymer company, I know what it feels like to spend hours designing something, take pride in it then have China reverse engineer (even though the company I work for is based in China, but even China has China companies if that makes sense) it using a much more shotty chemistry. I don't hate people for buying clones, I just know what it feels like to take pride in a design then see it get taken away by someone who has no care for it other than what money it will make them. At least when you steal music you don't do it to resell it for money.

These companies do, so it's different. The buyer is fine, they appreciate a design and can't afford it so they buy the clone. No harm is done by them, so I have no grief with them. It's the companies that shamelessly steal designs and even leave the logo's on it because it's all about riding coat tails and stealing money. The logo thing bothers me more than anything, that's just plain wrong.

I have made software and mods that were stolen and nothing but the creators named changed...I still buy clones. Its a preference and Im glad your sharing your opinion on yours, this is nothing but a comparison for those who want to try either....not a discussion on what side your on about the clone debate.

When I speak of my career, how much money I have or anything of the like, it's because of RELEVANCE TO THE TOPIC. I know big words like that might scare you, but stay with me on this one sport. Me talking about my engineering here was relevant because I've had my own designs get stolen and reverse engineered by companies, but only much cheaper. The result were a bunch of batteries that had an 85% failure rate, and cost the company I work for money. So I said it.

If you've never designed anything in your life you're proud of, it's not my fault. That just speaks to your lack of life accomplishments. I never bashed anyone for buying clones, I simply stated why I avoided them. i kind of look at it this way,, if the original was made in china then its fair game. too many companies pretend to be American,, then farm out the jobs/manufacturing to china.. to me,, its no longer an american product. ie,, Apple,,,,,,,,,everyone pays top dollar for their products,, and that is fine with me,, but i am not going to snub someone who might buy an iphone clone (years ago asia was swimming with them,, no idea about now)...

years ago i was on a message board that allowed anyone to look at another persons profile,,, one of the stats listed was how many people watched that person and how many people had them on ignore..........people monitored their stuff much better back then,,,,,,,,then someone convinced the site owner to remove both pieces of data,,,,,and the site got over ran with trolls........its sad. because he had an ultra modern way with the message board design.. (i hate this 1990's design,, but it is what it is)
