Picked this up today at a local B&M during a sale. Check the pics and initial impressions. Also feel free to ask questions.

Initial impressions :

It's a lot smaller and lighter than you would imagine for a dual 18650, the screen is bright and I love the layout of the board. It gives you reading for both batteries and individual battery percentages. It's easy to read without the need for settings menu since all the info is right up front. I build most of my RTAs between .25 and .4 and usually hit them at 50-70 watts and it seems to hit the same sweet spot as my DNA 200. However this thing does not do 213 watts, you would need to build a coil at .02 ohms to get 35 amps to do that but either way so far so good. I am through 2 tanks today and will update soon with more details.

What's the most watts you've pushed it to?

Also, how would you compare the TC functionality to that offered by your DNA200?

And, have you played around with the feature that allows you to adjust how the wattage ramps up (an initial higher burst, the throttle back down, or vice versa)?

I'm curious about this mod, since I love my Sig 100 watt (have seen no need to upgrade yet in the 20 months or so I've owned it).

Oh, and just to confirm, a 25mm tank will fit on this with no overhang, right?

Most watts was 120 on a Rafale Tank and worked just like my other mods at 120

I haven't played with TC yet

Yes I have played with the function, it allows you to pick a starting wattage and from there you adjust how long it should take to get to your number, I have mine set at 30 watts and .10 seconds to get to 60 watts on my griffin and it works great

25 MM will fit with no overhang at all

I didn't know it had a sorta pre-heat setting. Seems a lot nicer than I thought it would be. Thanks for the quick review.

Good to know! And does your DNA200 have a similar feature? Just trying to get a better idea of how the new Sig compares to the big poomba on the block.

Absolutely, the evolv boards have much more to offer with escribe, this board is nice but no where near as custom as a DNA board.

Ya, that's definitely my impression, and I need to do my own research, sorry for being lazy on my end. But I'm wondering if this Sig might offer a more convenient user experience for a setting like this. For instance, say you had several RTAs with different builds, and wanted to experiment with this setting. Would you need to hook your DNA200 mod up to your PC, make a setting in escribe, try the setting, then hook your mod back up to escribe, try another setting, etc etc etc? Or could you actually adjust this setting from your mod itself?

Also, curious to see the con video

@fuseryder, you keep referring to a CON video, but unless I missed it, I can't find the video. Do you have a link you can provide?

Thx!

Mike Vapes says the SS TC on it is BS. He says its not TC and that you have to set the amount of seconds that the device turns off. Any confirmation on that?

IMO it wouldn't matter if that preset was working or not since it has TCR functions that would allow you to adjust but I haven't tested any TC yet so standby

Ah, that's a bummer. Build quality is one of the reasons I love my Sig 100 so much. Hopefully (for prospective customers at least), this'll turn out to be an infrequent manufacturing defect. Something to keep an eye on as more people get this mod in hand.

Thanks for the video, though!

UPDATE:
Battery life seems amazing, started today with 100 percent and it's 11pm EST and still at 45, to test this theory I am going to use only this mod tomorrow and nothing else and see how long she last.

This mod is worth 39.99 in my book, Sigelei should adopt the DNA chip..
So you are saying that the only reason you say $40 is because of the DNA chip. Would you be fine with a DNA chip and this device as is otherwise being $200. Because that is what would happen. If not why do you say $40? I admit its not the $125 device it started popping up pre-order wise. But it's certainly more feature filled and better constructed than most $40-$50 mods. I say $70 is probably is a good price point for this. If I see it for $60 I might buy a couple more, one as a second device and one as a backup.

To be honest I kind of agree with ej. If it's not a Yihi or Evolv chip then I'm just not prepared to pay a premium for it. Especially since Wismec has been killing with their chip.

Either way we know the chip is new and needs to be put through the paces, I think Sig is aware they needed a new board and this board is great compared to the older versions. We will see how it plays but I agree that price point is much more reasonable between $70-90

I can tell you for certain that SS TC works on this, I used the same settings as the DNA200 and got the same vape, I set it at 420 and 50 degrees and worked my way up until I got to my profile setting for the Rafale and I get the same vape and not that pulsey vape you get from some mods that pulse to maintain the temp

$40 bucks is the perfect price bro
If this has the DNA chip
I will pay 109 for it or less...
Sigelei lost it, they not the WOW company anymore, they made a mistake trying to be different and saturating the industry with mods that are more expensive than competitors..
Yeah so, $39.99-$43 bucks I will buy this...

Yeah because DNA200 units regularly go for $100?

Is is because you have decided that you don't like Sig and anything of theirs has to be so much cheaper than their competitors? If so than more power to you just you aren't being clear and it just seems like you think lowly of it for no reason.

Again you seem to be bouncing around and not really saying why you think it should be so cheap. You said DNA 200 at $100 but even the cheapest DNA 200 devices that are just simple boxes are $150. Features, size, and build quality (not perfect but above the chincy wismec stuff), I can't think of a dive out there near it that would be $40. If you are just saying you wouldn't spend more than $40 for a non DNA fine. But 60-70 seems like a great price point for this device.

UPDATE 2:
used my mod all day with multiple tanks starting at 7 am and as of now 10:30 pm EST, my battery life is at 31%. I spent a good portion of my day outside vaping so it was continously being used. Another thing I found when vaping SS Coils on my Rafale is the setting you use in each TC has an independent pre-heat function much like the profiles on the DNA200. additionally the board also has the ability to save 5 memory settings which is cool.

I picked one up yesterday at a local vape shop along with a Theorem tank. This is my first tc mod. The build quality seems very good and the carbon wrap feels solid to the mod. Size wise, it's just about the same size as my provari radius. I'm still experimenting with the temp control and because this is my only TC device I have nothing the compare. Using it with the Theorem I find that 300 degrees with the preheat set at 30 Watts for 9.99 seconds gives me a good warm vape. I tried first at a higher temp at 4 seconds and it would be warmer but then turn off. I'm not sure why it does this but that's why I lowered the temp with longer run time. Still trying to figure it out. In wattage mode with my regular dual coil kanthal build the preheat function makes more sense to me. I set the wattage at 31 Watts and set the preheat to 40 Watts for 1.5 seconds and you can feel the wattage drop back to the primary wattage setting. Again TC is new to me but I think I've got it figured out. I think the preheat function for wattage mode is just that, a preheat. But in temp mode it's more of a how do you power the coil mode instead of preheat. If that makes any sense. This is primarily why I have not ventured into temp devices until now. Anyways any suggestions are welcome.
