BatteryBro's said that it was still beta and asked for feedback. Probably some place on their site for that...

Great to know how long a cell may have been sitting around on a vendors shelf, thanx for the link.

You hope a few months from a place like IMR or liionwholesale but even up to a year I would guess is what most of people get from random online/b&m vape shops.
But if one was sitting at the back of the shelf for a while, gets found then into your cart... you will know when 3 of them are 2015 and one is 2 years from manufacture date.

The ones who would probably benefit most from this are those that still buy VTC's.

I ordered some sony vtc5a on ebay and the code checks out it was 2015 14Dec. Do you think this could of been faked? Or are these real sony vtc5a?(the logo is bigger on my batteries than others)

Of course it can be faked, if they just copied a real code from a real one. Only way to know is testing which is why counterfeit batteries are such a problem.

Yep, it's rare that any popular model battery is more than a couple months old from us. One of the nice things about going through so many batteries so fast here!

I wouldn't consider it a counterfeiting check tool since they just copy an existing code for their faked wraps, but it could raise red flags in case the supplier promises relatively new batteries and the check shows otherwise, or just to check how old are your old batteries.
