Alright guys I'm thinking about getting a mini set up going here. Already buying a serpent mini and I need a small mod to go with it. So, gun to your hear, which would you go for and why? Appreciate inputs from those who own or used to own these 2 mini mods.

I would wait for the mini volt v2, supposed to have the issues worked out. The nugget is better than the original mini volt but I prefer the aesthetics of the volt

I don't know about the mini volt v2 but I agree with you... I know the MV has had some issues but mine has been pretty good. I did have s few instances where it would not fully charge but that's not happened in a while.

Id go with the Nugget all day, and I have both of them. The nugget has a larger screen, has TC, has more wattage, has a better button, more general options and settings, and its just a tiny little bit smaller (just barely, but it is technically lol). The Nugget is all around better

Nugget all day. My wife has two mini volts, two picos, an AIO, an istick 30w (my old one that is now quite old) and a nugget. The nugget trumps the CoV in every way. It has all the goodies - TC, nice menu, good 510, nice tank, smaller slightly, clickier buttons, better screen. It is a no contest.

What kind of battery life are you guys getting using the nugget in TC mode?

I have a couple MV's but a Nugget is on the way. Yep, the MV is beautiful little mod, the Nugget is another small brick.
MTLer with a Triton firing at 12 watts, I get right at a full day of vaping, about 4ml's in that day.

But sad to say the MV finish is far from durable. I could see the rubberized coating could be a problem and I never leave the house with it. Even at that, wear on the edges and for some reason the finish is tearing, lifting and wrinkling on the back side (opposite from buttons side).

So aesthetics don't mean much when they don't hold up.

The way my wife vapwes I've no idea how long the batteries should last. For her its a few days but she switches between mods and vapes at 18 watts. She has never used the TC on the Nugget, lol. Too complicated for her.

I love the mini - volt but mine is chipping on the corners. Still works like a champ for what it is - but looks really old and worn and I haven't really used it that much. :(

Weird. I take mine with me anytime I'm out for an extended period of time and the finish is still holding up. I guess I shouldn't be surprised when it finally does start chipping.

I'm really sad because I love the look of it. It still works perfectly though, but it's white underneath the black so the chips really, really stand out.

Dang that sucks. Have you considered a wrap from jwraps or a silicone sleeve?

Edit to add - just checked jwraps and didn't see the mini volt listed.

Yeah, I'm trying to decide what to do because I do love it, but a big part of why I bought it was for the looks, lol, which I rarely do.

I'm more of a functional purchaser, but I also have an affinity for miniature things.

I want a Nugget too, but it's hard to justify it with all my other vapocolypse needs, lol.

J-Wraps shows their carbon fiber wrap available for the Mini Volt, don't know what else but you'd think there would be others too.

I debated getting one for my MV but instead decided to get one for the Nugget I have on order. If anyone gets/has a J-Wrap on their Mini Volt, please post a pic.

That was the other thing I forgot to mention in my first post. The Nugget shits on the Mini Volts battery life. I dont TC, but in power mode the MV would die hours before the Nugget would. On the Nugget I could get a full day of work plus some of having it as a pocket mod for vaping where I cant have my big mods, the Mini Volt in the same situation wouldnt even last til my last break half the time and never lasted me through the whole work day.

The Nugget is the superior mod hands down. Now if your just after looks then it is what it is, but looks aint everything, especially for a mod meant to be hidden and not seen lol

Wow that's some pretty good mileage on a small mod. What settings are you running? I'll probably be running a 4 wrap fused clapton on 40-45 watts all day so I can't imagine me going through a whole day without charging it whenever I don't use it at work. Someone here said about waiting for a v2 of these mini mods and I don't think it's such a bad idea. A mini mod with removable battery would be a Godsend. Maybe a removable 18350 batt would be awesome. I'm still thinking about jumping the gun on this yet or wait for any v2s.

I ran mine with a Moonshot RTA built with either a dual parallel 28/30 set at .5-.6 ohm and 50 watts or some 26/36 claptons in dual setup at .5-.6 ohm and 50 watts. Always maxed the wattage on both mods, which was the other reason I really liked the Nugget. That extra 10 watts makes a big difference.

Ouch.

@Mythical_OD , enough of your Mini Volt bashing! You're gonna have me buying a nugget if you keep it up :)

Seriously though, I've wanted a nugget for a while. What color is yours ?

Mine is the bronze color. Not bad, I rather like it.
