Been having a less than stellar experience with the Crown. The tank itself is one of the best build quality and designed tanks I've seen in my limited experience, but it seems the replacement coils aren't as well made.

Was looking at the Coil Art site and thinking a 24g Clapton from them might be a better way to go.

What y'all think ?

Which version of the Crown are you talking about..I have the V1 and find I get the best Vape from the coils lasting upwards 2-3 weeks...then the flavor drops off..also depends on type of eliquid used.

I have the V1 and I get a lot of dry hits, after doing some reading it appears they're inconsistent and that with the high PG (80/20) I favor, don't wick the juice well enough.

Could be, I've not had a dry hit..they're just not lasting as long anymore...I used to get upwards of a month...I would clean them and could get another week or 2..now when I clean and try to use them taste like dry butt. :)

There is a cheap and easy fix for the SMOK, mine was the same way, stumbled across a thread here. It's the o-ring on the chimney.
Go to ebay and search for K-STAT Vape O-Ring. $5.00 and I now love the SMOK.

But I really like the engineering on the Crown and would love a better coil - that would be my "out and about" tank if I can get a better "hit"

Their coils for the atlantis / triton style coil tanks is a great coil. I don't get a month out of them but I vape custard mixes a lot of the time so I don't expect that. They do last a solid week and are a very good price.
Flavor is better than aspire coils, I hope the same for the crown coils... or at least as good as flavor.

My next crown coil order will be coil arts

Super tank mini takes atlantis style coils also Playboy tank which actually to me has weird airflow that mutes the taste..I gave that one to my daughter also she loves it...Thanks for all your advice!

Yep, crown & STM are my go to work and not want any leak on my pocket toppers.
Coil arts have better flavor than the triton SS coils I used to run but the crow still beats it. Tank I grab for the day depends on what flavor is in it. Today is raspberry cheesecake in the STM :shades:
Coil arts way of doing coils seems to be open up the juice ports and imo the crow coils could use it.

If coil art can improve on crowns coil... I'm all over it.

The Coil Art has a few different kinds they seem to like Kanthal wire. The things I've read about Kanthal don't sound positive, I want to stick with SS.
They also have a SS coil and they said there would be a Clapton available on their site tomorrow.

Personally I'm going to try the Clapton @ .5 ohm cuz the <= .25 ohm coils really drink juice.

I saw your having troubles with your crown. If you chain vape like a h*rny dragon like me. Then every bunch of pulls, put both fingers over the air holes at the bottom and gently pull into your mouth. Like a cigarette. This will force juice into the wick holes. I do it and never ever have i ever had a dry hit ever. Also the stock coils are great. Just try to hover around 70-75 vg. 80vg is like smoking molases anyway. The other thing i suggest is get a toothbrush and clean it at each coil change. Trust me its the best not buildable tank. Tried tfv4, tfv8, crown 3. I bought 4 crown 1 tanks...
