The mod and admin team often get requests from members about becoming a moderator for the forums. We love that members are so excited and interested in this place as to want to join the team, and we thank you for that. However, private messages to individual members of the mod or admin team aren't how we typically recruit help.

We have a pretty simple way of doing things around here. At Vaping Underground, we watch and read and observe our members "in the wild" and handpick those we think would be an asset to the team. We look for tact, personability, an embodiment of the values that shape the underground, regular activity, and reliability. We also keep the team suited to the size of the membership, so while we feel adequately staffed at the moment, as the membership and forums grow, we will add to the team as required.

In short, the best way to be considered for the team is to be present, active, helpful and friendly.... and to represent the values that shape this forum: freedom, fairness, and reasonability.

I'd rather fill out long form tax sheets, than be a mod.o_O
Mind if I ask why? I don't happen to share your views. To me, if you really care about something, you want it to be the best it can. For some of our members, that means interacting as little as possible, LoL. For others, it means diving in headfirst to help however possible.

I'd like to think I fall into the latter category.

I think you've learnt a lot since joining VU @VapingJunkie
I've seen you get singled out and bullied recently by a regular participant of the Underground who boasts himself as a self-confessed troll. You stood up for yourself and then drew a line under it and there was no need for a mod to step in.

I might point out that although vapingunderground restricts its rules to "don't be a douche" it also promises to be a safe place for vapers - and afaik bullying comes under "douche". Perhaps there's a member reading this who does not mind being scammed, bullied and trolled and doesn't need the help of moderators.

However, if you've joined VU to social network and enjoy yourself try your best to resolve a situation first if it arises else the mods are here for exactly that. But this is an adult forum and there will always be "that idiot"! My advice is click the Ignore button, then you'll no longer have to see them again.

I'm just afraid that if I became one I would end up being so damn popular and cool for dropping tons of knowledge bombs on people that the other mods would end up hating me and then kick me back to being an underling like I currently am.. That fear is way too much for me to handle right now..

I doubt that Hobby has forgotten you.

Most likely he is taking some time to shop for more Doctor Who Memorabilia for his collection.

This one is better :D
I don't know why I thought that was Warren G with Nate Dog, R.I.P. Btw. I'm thinking of Regulate... Both great songs from my youth. Glad I know who it is now. Poor Nate Dogg, man was great.

I obviously couldn't be a moderator, since here I go again thread jacking, lol. I hope I entertain at the least. If I make someone smile I've done my job. Even if it's at my expense. :)

That comes over like you don't actually fill them out
Ducks head for not filing taxes for two years in a row... I'm a 1099 contract worker, though, and I don't make shit, so once I deduct expenses I won't owe a penny... Thus I won't be penalized. I still need to do it, my dad's a tax attorney so I have a resource, and thus no excuse... Oh yeah, I owe nothing won't get anything back and am lazy... That's why.

And, while napping, and then re building two tanks, I officially became a balla, and a shot calla. I decided to check my car, and it's not an impala, but it has 20 inch blades now.

I was a mod on another forum (Politics), then a senior mod, then an admin, then the site admin with technical duties. It was then that I wondered, where did the time go? Up till midnight doing trackback links, getting stubborn databases to back up along with stubborn advertisers. I learned a lot and had a lot of fun. The only problem was that I had to be on call 24/7 to fix glitches and problems. I'm a baker at an artisan bakery (read old school bread and sweets), so I get up at 3am to get the daily bread baked for the masses. Being a mod or admin take a fair amount of time. If you get asked, think a bit. If you've got the time, go for it. If you cant' commit to at least 20-30 hrs a week, then pass. Just my $0.02.
