Will I Explode??

Hey All,

Ok, ok, so i know that i will not explode but as unlikely as it is, could my device?

I just picked up a Uwell Crown (original) and an IPV5 mod.
This is my first experience with a box mod. This mod can go up to 200w and 120 (or 572F) in TC mode.

My question is if i can accidentally overdo it.

I know that the mod is regulated, which i think means that it becomes idiot proof and it will "know" not to do something if it cannot handle it.

For example, if i have a .5 coil (rated 30-80w) and i mistakenly fire it at 200w do i have to be worried? Obviously, this would not be something i do on purpose but is more of a what if.

Same thing for TC mode. I will not bring it to the limits on purpose but what if that happens?

Because it is a regulated mod, do i have anything to be worried about potentially?

PS. I know that i am not the smartest person in the world, but i am also not an idiot. I have a basic (or very basic compared to some of you) understanding of Ohms, watts, volts, joules and how they work with one another.

Thank you.

Get some juice on those coils so you don't accidentally fire the mod and burn the cotton and ruin the nice new coil . . .

as ej said, and you are correct the mod normally wont do something that can be bad for your batteries

BUT
firing a .5 coil at 200w is risking
1. burning the cotton in seconds
so make sure your coil is saturated
and dont do that for too long or too often
otherwise the cotton will burn and it will just taste nasty and youll need a new coil
2. in temp mode no there is no risk PROVIDED you are in the proper TC mode for the type of wire the coil is made from

otherwise the TC just doesnt regulate properly and once again
you may burn the cottom and it will taste horrible and you will need to change the coil

Nothing to worry about at all. That mod as plenty of safety features to keep you protected.

I will say make sure you're using good batteries (lghg2, Samsung 25r to name a couple)
Also if you wanted to really make sure you're safe, get a good battery charger for 20$ instead of using the onboard charger.

What bird said.

Your biggest concern should be
1 Quality, authentic batteries. This is VERY important.
2 A Quality charger. I don't use/trust on board chargers.
3 ALWAYS observe safe battery handling procedures. NEVER EVER carry batteries loose in your pocket, among other things.

Hey Freemind - I completely agree with you.
I do have some Samsung 25rs. (Although, i question the authenticity of them. I got them from a local B&M. But i question them because they are in a generic green wrap with a sticker on them. There is some print on the batteries but it does not say Samsung anywhere... Is that normal? I would think that it would be branded a little better coming from Samsung.
Also, i have a 2 slot Nitecore charger
and i would not carry lose batteries EVER. In fact i am waiting on a case for my extras as week speak. Until then i cam keeping them separated from each other.

I use these for when I'm carrying extras on the go.

GOOD Batteries are not branded like you would think.
The best way to know they are authentic is stick with a PROOVEN TRUSTWORTHY VENDOR

They could be authentic, I don't know. I know a local shop carries very few batteries. One in authentic, the other some crap they give away free with mods, that ARE fakes.

I buy batteries ONLY from vendors I trust.
www.lionwholesale.com is a good one here people use.

I buy from a seller called GenuineCells on Ebay. Never had an issue with my Ebay seller.

samsung 30q man. So many people mention the 25R, but the 30q is pretty much the same but with a higher capacity. the 30q is equal to the hg2

Assuming you have a 20amp or better battery..... At worse the coil might fail/pop. More likely is scorched tongue/lip and burnt cotton.

But i thought the IPV5 maxed out at 8.5 volts output, so the most it should fire .5ohms is about 140watts. The highest resistance I think it will fire 200 is about .35ohms.
