Juice turning colors?

Hi all, I have the Kanger Topbox kit and am currently using the mini RBA that came with the kit as my coil. The guys at my local vape shop built it for me (ahead of the FDA regulations going into effect - I made sure of this so I could see how to do it in person at least once and ask any questions I had) and they seem to be very good at building coils so I assume they're doing it right. The other day, I cleaned my tank and refilled with a new juice flavor - caramel macchiato, if that matters at all. The juice appeared to be clear in color in the bottle and when I first put it in the tank. Now, the juice near the bottom of the tank has sort of an amber or golden brown hue. The juice near the top of the tank is still clear. When I tilt the tank, the amber color tilts too. I opened the RBA, and the cotton in the coil is still wet and is dark pink in color. Does the cotton need to be changed? Or is something funky with my juice? I only vaped using the RBA with the cotton they put in for me for for a day or two, and most of it was with the previous juice flavor (Circus Cookie, possibly my new favorite). However, I did vape quite a bit that one day I did use the RBA. I haven't been vaping since I discovered this issue as I wasn't sure if it was safe. Any advice for why my juice appears to be two different colors would be greatly appreciated.

Heat will turn juice darker, especially coffee, dessert types. You're probably having the juice from the coil entering back into the tank. It's fine but it will start tasting like shit as soon as the coils gunk up more.

I agree, it's most likely juice that was already in the wick leeching back into the tank. Nothing harmful, but it might throw the flavor you're vaping now off a bit.

As everyone said this is totally normal. Once your vape starts tasting off or muted, then it is a good time to rewick and I'd rinse out your tank as well. That is what I do when the leftover juice gets too dark and my stock coils are junk. :):)

Good to know! This is the first time I've used anything rebuildable. Shows you how much of a beginner I am. Probably a stupid question, but what does rewick mean? Changing the cotton?

Also, I was told that I don't have to change the coils themselves, just remove them and scrape/wash them off. Is this correct? Will I have to change them eventually?

Yep, rewicking is changing the cotton. You want to rinse the coil but I wouldn't suggest any scraping. Screw the base back on the mod and with the power turned down to 10 watts or so fire the mod to glow the coil and burn off any buildup. Remove and rinse again then put in your new cotton. You might want to go back when it's time and have them run you through doing a dry burn of the coil and rewicking.

I bought some Hawaiian Pog from MVS and they sent me a bottle that had expired in June. They then sent me a replacement bottle that doesn't expire until a full year. The color on the expired bottle was a distinct yellow color while the 'good' bottle was faintly yellow. The expired bottle doesn't taste bad but it does taste stronger.

Does it have nicotine in it? I know that nicotine makes a liquid darker the longer you keep it around. Mind you I don't know much. I do have a vapewild flavor without nicotine that's almost a reddish brown color.

Yes, re-wicking means changing the cotton, or whatever material is used for wicking. IMO, dry burning (bringing the coils to glow, without wick), and maybe scrape the coil(s), is good enough (at least for me). The coil(s) usually last quite a while. Depending on your vaping style, anywhere between 1 - 3 months, maybe even longer.
