thick 1Amp micro usb 5-6 foot cable, ok?

waa, why does everything turn into a forum post and a big project for me.

I have a realoux DNA200. It takes a charge up to 1Amp. I have a wall adapter for my cell phone which is only 750mAh (.75A) output. I have another wall adapter 1000mAh output. Both are UL logo branded. I only use UL branded wall adapters (for safety reasons, and I do trust UL more than CE branded).

The 3' cord that comes with the reloux is great, nice and thick and it gives up to 1A charging and it pops into the micro USB port nice and snugly but it's not long enough for me to passthrough vape. I need 5-6 feet.

I have a long cheap green ribbon cable I got from ebay from china for like 99 cents but it doesn't charge the DNA200 more than like .5 Amp (the mod's screen shows charging current). I tried all combinations with the wires and wall adapters I mentioned above but the only way I can get 1A current is with the short cord included with the realoux DNA200.

So do I just buy any 1Amp micro usb cable from ebay? I shocked the long green ribbon one I got from ebay for 99 cents doesn't even give 1A. This just means they skimped on the copper/metal internals hence why it can't carry even 1 Amp.

If I but a cord on ebay claiming to be 1A on but my DNA200 screen doesn't show it charging that high, it's not as described? (and therefore free). I don't want free, I just want a thick 1A, but for some reason I can't find that.

I know the DNA200 will only take upwards of .99A when the batteries are low. The more charged they get, the lower the current it takes form the charger and eventualyl only shows it taking about .1A, but that's not why I'm only getting only about .5A max from the cheap ebay 99 green ribbon wire I already had.

This cord linked isn't thick but I might have to get unless it's highly not recommended for some reason. I don't think what I'm looking for should cost more than just a few dollars shipped form China.
In drop down as "Other micro usb android phone" 6 feet (because all the phones in the drop down are just sort of click bait and confusion but possibly some of the choices would lead to getting only a .5A cord).

because strangely, if I search ebay for the following with prices starting from lowest, I find almost nothing for just a few dollars or without added things I don't need.
1A micro usb -car -board -module -wall
1Amp micro usb -car -board -module -wall
1A micro usb -car -board -module -wall
1 Amp micro usb -car -board -module -wall

Actually, forget most of what I wrote above because 1A isn't popular and I should have searched for 2A and this will be perfectly safe because the DNA200 board safety will cap the current at 1amp, right? Or is it safer to get a 1A?
I should just get this 2Amp "thick" one?

You should not be using that device as a Pass-Through...C'mon son!

I suppose (like snake) that you want an extra long cable because you want to use the mod in pass through.
While this is possible since the DNA knows to stop charging while it's being discharged, it is not recommended since rapid charge-discharge drastically shortens the life of you batteries.
Instead of spending your money on cables get a good external charger and an extra set of batteries.

shortens it in terms of how many months/cycles they last or in terms of how long they last between charges? Either way I'm going to be stubborn and not deal with an extermal charger. Just getting the batts out of the realoux is a PITA and is known to rip the wraps. I'd rather spend the $20 sooner for a new set of batts if their months/cycles are shortened by passthrough vaping.

All that aside, I could just use the first item at the top from my last link Even though it's 2A and the rolo only takes 1A current?
The rolo would cap a 2A cable at 1A. It would be safer to use a 1A even though the rolo has protection but the protection could fail but it shouldn't, similarly to all the other protections that come with charging and using batts and sub ohming etc. But one less protection needed is in theory safer?

Personally I'd never recharge the rolo using the USB.

I returned a 3 battery DNA200 mod because of the crappy design of the battery sled...I'm not paying for lazy and to me not adding reverse polarity protection is just that, lazy...My VaporFlask133 has it, why cant the rolo??

And BOOM!
Alright I'm done.

Only the DNA version of the Reuleaux has that issue. The RX200 doesn't chomp batteries. It also costs way less cash than the DNA version.

Get a stand alone charger, for batteries charging and the highest amp cable you can find, for data and emergency charging... Why? Most batteries fail when being charged and when discharged. The discharge failures your stuck with. As only the human brain can truly prevent and avoid those. The charge failures can be avoided...... By not charging batts, in the mod, unless there are no other options.

I'm well aware that the RX rolo has reverse polarity protection in the chip but the DNA rolo's protection is physical protrusions that prevent the batteries' + side nipple from touching the contact If put in upside down. However, I spend the huge $90 more for the DNA so I can USB charge it. And I did buy that 2A cable assuming the DNA chip will cap the cord's 2A current at 1A because that's all the DNA200 chip can take as a charge (as most mods are capped @ 1A, although there's at least a few 2A zip charging mods but from what I found were all internal single lipo pack batteries with not a lot of mAhs).

IMHO $120ish on sale (something like that) is a deal for the DNA200 rolo. A couple years ago an authentic 30A single 18650 MOD wasn't too much less than that. Prices really seem to have come down for MODs.

If anyone interested in USB charging DNA200 mods like the Rolo (not the RX chip version), then search my past posts I made a big to do about it and asked on evolve forum etc and all signs point to not an issue. I do have the rx200 rolo as back up and hopefully never even need it. I would not charge the RX USB though.

Don't do that.
Both versions of the Reuleaux the batteries are in series.
Charge your batteries in a real battery charger and make sure you rotate them.
Simply mark them with a sharpie (ABC or 123).
That way it is super easy to keep track of which went where.

^ I "Do that". (charge DNA200 with USB). I feel safer doing that than a nitecore actually...
I already spent days and days about this if it's safe or not and concluded it's fine.
Cheap boards like the RX200 do not discharge evenly balanced which is the same unsafety as not charging balanced. DNA200 boards discharge balanced though, so if you charge a DNA200 USB, even if it's not evenly done (which I'm willing to bet it does)then you're at the same risk as charging batts in an external charger and then discharging them in a cheap RX board.

Tried to help but of course you think you know more than I do so...Cheers!
Good luck.

Fuck nitecore.
22 bucks for a lux 6, since getting mine and seeing the actual charge the batteries were taking the nitecore was under charging them by huge margins.

Yep I used to think Nitecore made solid chargers until I was on a road-trip with a friend and forgot mine.I used his LUX 6 and wound up getting 1 for myself.Tossed the Nitecore into the donation bin at my local vape shop.

+1 LUX over NItecore. Have had mine about a year, maybe more. All bays still work. I haven't had a Nitecore for more than 6-9 months without at least one bay just failing completely.

The Lux is just fucking badass for the cost/performance.
No more under charging batteries, able to choose 2 amp for older ones I call it renewing their vows since they are married.

so for a mod with an internal battery, like say the solara dna30, what would be the best way to charge it? would a ps4 or laptop be a safe charge for it?

Wall adapter usb unless you have a computer with protected usb ports

There shouldn't be a problem with using this type of cable with most modern electronic cigarettes. I have seen a few older models of ecig that had problems after being charged at 1amp or more. I would never suggest using a 2amp or greater charger with an ecig as this may affect the circuitry.
