Hacking

I am new to the vaping and I am having an issue with my hacking and coughing. I am using vaping to quit smoking so I have my juice loaded with nicotine. My problem is I am coughing alot more. I have a itaste 134 and have tried adjusting the current up and down with little result.

@splinter Welcome to the underground.
Your Nic level should be just enough to take the edge off. No idea what your smoking habit was. I started Nic at 18m. As far as the coughing, M5amhan is spot on. Things should clear up fairly soon.
What do you have mounted on the 134?

Be aware that for a few of us high VG can cause major coughing. It may be that your nic level is a little too high also -how many mgs in your juice?

@splinter ... Congrats on making the switch!!
There are a couple reasons why you could be having these coughing fits...
  1. Your lungs are clearing out - this is typical between weeks 2 and 6
  2. You are allergic to something in the juice - most common is the sweeteners
  3. You have a sensitivity to either VG or PG - This is much more common than folks realize. I personally cannot vape anything higher then 40% VG or it closes up my chest like an asthma attack which causes me to cough.
How long have you been vaping?
What nic level is your juice?
What is the PG/VG ratio of your juice?
What juice - Vendor/Flavor are you vaping?
What type of atty, clearo, or tank are you using?

I also found that when I began vaping I was inhaling wrong, I was taking the vape directly into my lungs when I inhaled on my PV, I changed and pull into my mouth first and then inhale and it was a lot better, I also coughed quite a bit just after I quit the cig's and felt I was clearing out all the tar stufffs that cigs left, after a few months , my cough went away. Hope that helps.

A lot of good info and questions. I smoked about 1 pack a day for 30+ yrs. My nicotine level is 18MG's. Also I haven't completely quit. I have only been vaping about 2 weeks and I smoke about 6 cigarettes a day now. In the morning I will smoke a couple and move to vaping and then if I have to go a long period of time with out then I will smoke a gig and then can maintain with vaping. I have the nautilus aspire mounted.

Sounds like a very common story splinter, so congrats because you're on the right track! I smoked about 3/4 pack for about 15 years, spent a month tapering down to just a few a day before I finally quit. A few weeks in I started hacking up all sorts of nasty crap, that lasted for a couple weeks beyond my quit date. You'll get through it, then it's clear sailing...except for the fact you get your taste buds and sense of smell back. That's a whole new world right there, lemme tell ya.

Dude you should have heard me when I switched...I sounded like I had a serious respratory infection...8 months later...feel much much better

I continued to smoke the first month that I was vaping. Afterwards, I let them go and stuck with the vaping. Haven't been back to cigs since that time. Never felt better. Now I'm full on mechanical and loving the clouds.
