If there was temp control to prevent circuitry from overheating, that's one thing.

But then one could simply not hold the fire button for more than 5 seconds

Call me old fashioned...but I can tell when my wick is dry because the back of my throat says so....and I don't get gunk build up because I vape hot, and know how to build a coil!! OH, and allegedly it is also to keep you from burning up wicks LOL. Not four days ago, I intentionally vaped a Japanese cotton wick on my Sat22 completely dry, until it caught fire....let the flame die on its own...and I am STILL using that wick.
