Slight burnt taste

Hey guys! Just a quick question. Is it normal to have a bit of a burnt taste with your juice if you vape in close succession? I tend to take hits back to back, but I'm noticing that after a while I get a burnt taste with my juice. I usually stop vaping for a while then when I start up again it seems fine. I don't get a lot of flavor so it's hard to tell also. How can I remedy this if it isn't normal?

THIS is why I use an RDA!

I like to chain-vape, and have not found a tank that will let you chainvape at higher wattages without dry/semi-dry hits.

What setup do you have, what wattage, what is pg/ vg of juice?

When you start tasting burnt wick, you have a problem. The wick won't saturate as well, since it is burnt. The hit you take won't give you enough oomph. You may take another hit right away, which in turn dries and burns the wick even more. It is a vicious cycle. You may want a less thick juice, or a tank with coils that can take big hits. High PG juice is less likely to burn your wick because it gives more throat hit and thus you don't take so long of a vape. High VG juice is very thick, and can have trouble thoroughly saturating your wick if the wick holes are too small.

Like others said, thinner juice, lower wattage, or upgrade to a SMOK TFV8 or similar tank, which can take both power and fairly thick juice.

You may need to buy another mod if you don't have one which will produce at least 200 watts so your not changing-charging batteries continually with a lower wattage mod. The SMOK beast tanks work fine at 80 watts, but if you have a 100 watt mod the batteries won't last before a charge or replacing the batteries is necessary.

The device I have is a Joyetech eCom that uses a C2 atomizer head, if this helps paint a better picture. I don't get a burnt taste when I slow down even with the same long intake. How can I tell if a juice it too thick for this device? I've been noticing that I don't get tons of flavor and usually have to breathe the vapor out of my nose to have a true taste. Right now I have Banana Milk by Moo E-Liquids and it does seem kind of thick. The VG/PG is 70/30.

I will definitely keep the ratios in mind when buying in the future. Would the bottle label the ratio or should I just ask the shop I'm buying it from?

yeah chain hitting devices like that will give you a burnt flavor. they don't wick fast enough, especially if using a thick juice. give it more time to wick in between vapes and use a 50/50 mix or mostly PG mix

I had the same problem when I first started out vaping using an eleaf 40w TC mod. You need to take a couple of hits and then let it rest for a few minutes so the coil and absorb the liquid again. My old man uses the same mod and has burned out coils chain vaping until I told him to take a break every few hits and now his coils can last a week or more after all day every day use. And like others have said, use a 50/50 juice. I learned the hard way when using my eleaf 40w TC mod vaping on 80vg juice. I burned out 5 coils in a row because the coils wouldn't absorb the liquid.

Does that clearomiser (atomizer) have replaceable coil-heads??? You might try the next ohm rate higher next time. This might help with the burning. As will running at lower voltage setting.
Thinner juice is probably the best answer though. No more than 50% VG. I would say best performance in the 60-70% PG range. Sad thing is most of the juice today is high VG. You could also dilute your high VG juices with a bit of distilled water, up to 10%. Or PG. So if all can can find is high VG juice.. just buy it with some extra flavoring and nic if possible. To allow for dilution with water and or PG.

OH forgot you might also just need a higher nicotine level.. If you are a smoker....
