HOGv3

So I was finally ably to get my hands on a Hogv3. I'm wondering how other people build for them. I'm no stranger to unregulated series mechs, their mostly all I use and I know how to build for them. They say the hog has the power of series but the safety of parallel.

I'm wondering how you figure out the amp draw with it having 4 batteries? I'm just trying to understand this.... say I build a set of coils that would be drawing lets say 50 amps on a regular 2 battery series mod, would that 50 amps be cut in half to 25ish amps in a para/series mod? any help would be greatly appreciated. Ive seen the bogans review of the hogv3 and he says you "could" build down to a .2 with this mod. I do like building low and pushing the limits every once and a while but I'm really just trying to learn about the hogs limits so I don't go past them, more than likely I'll be using my same builds I run on my series mechs. I don't know anyone personally to ask about this that has any version hog, so thanks for any and all tips!

Calculate wattage as normal for a series box at 8.2-8.4v but like you said the amperage is shared between the pairs so you can build lower. I wouldn't build half as low but .2 on 4 HB2/4/6 should be safe.

Edit:
Safeish and hot as fuck, I would want lots of material to heat up on that build.

I'm really liking it and happy I got it. Battery life is unreal with this thing and it's a solid mod. I have a set of fused claptons in it, 24g cores with 40g wrap, all n80. right around .2 on the ohm meter, it's a warm and rowdy vape and I love it haha.
What are you running on top of that thing? Ive been looking at the Achilles by Vape God Modz and the 30mm Mason. Everything i have is 25mm or smaller, which im guessing is gonna look ridiculous on top.

I put my cci centurion and Buddha on it, I put one of my goons on it and it looked pretty good, once you get the hog in your hand it's not as big as you think it's going to be(that's what he said). 24mm drippers don't look too bad on it.

I can't imagine using anything but my Obese Buddha on my HogV3. They were made for each other
Are they still selling authentic HOGS? I HAVE AN OBESE BUDDAH . But I caint seem to find an authentic HOG . So I settled for a clone of the v2.

I got mine right from vaperz cloud. You just have to watch the site, sometimes they'll give a heads up on the Facebook page also. A little while back generationV.com had some authentic v3 hogs in stock but they are all gone now.

So if I run 4 lg hb6's 1500mah 30A continuous batteries in the hog it would basically be 3000mah 60A but to be safe say 50A MAX? OR does it double TWICE to 6000mah and 120A 100A MAX?because both sides are parallel then ran in series? I'm confused .. how does this PARA-SERIES work WITH 4 18650'S?

Lol 120 I if only it worked that way. It doubles once but to stay safe don't push that it's still a ton of amperage of something goes wrong I would use 4 batteries married in a set.

50 amps is probably as low as you will enjoy anyway.

The output would be 8.4 volts with a max of around 45 to 50 amps to be safe with LG HBs. You would have 2 sets of series batteries in parallel.

I do not? What company made it?

I'm not sure I got it off of eBay lol for like 50$ Would it be easy to rebuild the hog v2 clone if anything goes wrong? If I buy the parts n what not where can I take the mod to or send it to to get it rebuilt? And any place online where I can buy such parts? I know about fat daddy vapes is there any other site for parts to rebuild this mod?

I watched the Bogan's review on the authentic and he couldnt figure out how to get to the internals. Depending on how close to the authentic it is, you might not be able to get to anything. Where you could send it, i have no clue.

I haven't taken my v3 apart yet but but the video I watched made it look easy. There are screws at the top of the battery bay much like the VCP. I know a lot of people have put batteries in wrong and fried battery door connections so be mindful

Oh, and the v2 and v3 are nothing alike.

V3 is much more compact. No meter on the v3. V3 has more in common with a vcp.

I build for the hog like I would for a dual parallel box, but slightly higher... I haven gone below a .19 which is about 370 watts, and those coils are some chunky fused claptons. If you want to go low ohms go with fused claptons imo. I'm going to try and make some framed staples that will be big enough to work well. I'll post a pic when I get around to it. My coils I have in it right now are fc's 24g n80 cores with 40g n80 wrap around a 4mm bit with 9 wraps @ .19 ohms. I use Sammy 25r's.

I would post a pic, however, unless it has to do with heating and air conditioning, im technology retarded. I cant figure out how to reduce the file size of my picture below 2 mb.

When I saw the USPS package, I thought there was some kind of a mix up. That little package couldn't have a HOG in it.

Lower the resolution on the camera or crop it down in size

Sorely tempted to pick up a HoG. There is store here in Toronto that has reconditioned mods - they have a HoG. When I say reconditioned they are really used and inspected. I can get it for around 60 CAN. I look at each time I go in for juice. Last time I went I picked up a squonk and atty instead - could not resist. Next time maybe unless there is something shiny i like better.
