I had the same experience with the octo & quads. Once the coils I bought for then are done, I'll probably sell the tanks.

When you prime the coils and let them sit do you then turn down the watts and start low working your way up a few watts at a time till you get to your desired watts? If not then that is your problem.

I dont like pre built coils, I always get a shitty taste for a couple days, good for a week or so followed by rapid declining flavor, just not worth the money to me. Buy a Griffin or Aromamizer supreme and be done with it.

Do you know you're G2 well? What setting are you using? What do you do to your mod after you changed the coil? Have you read the G2 user's guide? Are the 510 contacts clean? IMO, it's not the coils, but most likely the way you use your mod.

Haven't had any problems with the BabyBeast V8T8 coils at all

Been vaping these two coils for over 2 weeks, and they are still going strong.. nice flavor and decent clouds on both mods st 70w.

I had the same problem until a friend told me to take cuticle scissors and poke holes in the side where the cotton absorbs liquid. After doing this everytime I put a new coil in combined with proper priming, they last for 2 good weeks at least of heavy vaping. I almost gave up on the tank and now I am so glad I didn't. It vapes like a dream now after that little trick.

Try it with a new coil and you will be shocked how much better the flavor is as well as the life of the coil.

This is the V8T8 CloudBeast at 125w.. didn't have to poke holes in it and it's still going strong after about 5 weeks vaping it everyday..
go figure, lol

For me it was hit or miss depending on the coil. Sometimes they would go strong for a month and other times after 3 days they were tasting burnt. This was the only thing that allowed me to get a good month out of every coil.

On my big baby, I just use the rba so the wick absorbs plenty of liquid. On the premade ones, some of them have the cotton packed so tight that it doesn't absorb liquid at a reasonable pace, especially high vg.

I'm not sure if the cloud beast coils are made a little better but definitely be glad that you didn't have that same problem lol... It's frustrating not to mention costly.

Same here. Coming up on 5 weeks with the original T8 coil. Vaping at 120w and well over 250ml of juice as gone thru the sumbitch. First time in my vaping life that I actually WANT a coil to die. I just want to try the T10 or T6, but still curious as to how long this big bastard will hang in there. Crazy....

My coils would burn out in 2-3 days on my crown and tfv4. I switched to a griffin and never looked back! Plus you save so much money not buying coils

I like the Griffin too, but even with this .17 ohm clapton build it doesn't blow as big or thick clouds like TFV8 CloudBeast..

Fair enough. I have a little one running around so I don't wanna cloud out the house :) i use the griffin mostly but if I want clouds i use an rda or mech.

Did you try poking a pin in the coil to loosen the cotton? I've heard a lot of people recommend that on all sorts of coils.

Either that or your juice has a lot of sweetener in it?

i cant do tanks that only rely on pre built coils..One of the biggest rip offs in the industry along side of pre made-juice.
It's called convenience Mike...Least it is for me...And the money I save not buying 4 cartons of Marlborough a month anymore buys ALOT of premade juice, coils, mods, tanks, etc..no worries, lol

Tfv8 coils are a hit and miss. I have a tfv8 with the v10 coil and that lasted about 4 weeks. But with my v8 coils i had some last two days. And others last 4 weeks. I have noticed after priming my coils it tastes like absolute dog shit. I think they presoak the coils in something

What pg/vg ratio is everyone using? I am not certain but I think my issues with the crown and tfv4 coils were because of high vg juice. Also I think majority of the vaperz were using low wattages. Granted the guy above says he uses his at high wattage but I'm not sure if that's the majority.

I vape at max ratios at about 120 watts

Well I'm at a loss then. As stated I haven't had great experiences with the pre-made coils for the crown or the tfv4. At best 4 days. Now I use a Boreas and use close to 30 ml a day and my coils last much longer.

Good to know and crappy QC in China mass produced coils is nothing new.

I am an absolute TVF8 fanboy right now as my T10 and a couple of different Baby coils have lasted forever in my CB and BBB tanks even though I may be just lucky.

Same thing happened with my first few Kanger OCCs when I started vaping. Mine lasted forever and I thought people that killed them in a day were retarded. My shit sandwich was around the corner as I was lucky enough to enjoy 4 coils out of a 5 pack that died almost immediately and tasted like they were wiped on a sweat shop factory worker's stanky ass. Same inconsistency with Nautilus, Crown and Tobeco coils.

Getting a defective/off tasting coil sucks, but when they are $5 it hurts!

@Mike H. After I started building my own coils I thought I would save until I started going through 20ml of juice daily. Now I got into DIY E-Juice and after the initial investment, I can't get over how much less it costs per ml once you nail some good recipes.

I did the whole rebuilding thing for years and burnt out on it, the Baby/Big Baby have been a saving grace getting at least two weeks+ from coils before I switch. I do run them at less than the suggested wattage because I bump them up slowly until I get the vape I want and then run with it and haven't had any issues at all.

I run my t8 at 62.5w.... works well enough for me.Mind you I'm running the BB tho.

Hello i vape on a G2 with a baby beast but only after 4 days both the coils that came with it give me the burned taste ? I vape at the range the coil recommended and i primed each coil. What is happening ?

I have the same problem with Smok coils. I used a Cleito tank for 6 months and never had a problem EVER with burning taste or coils prematurely burning out till I got a big baby. I vape max vg always have. After putting about 50 coils in the thing I've tried thousands of ways to fix this and what I've come up with is that Smok coils don't wick very well. The cotton is too tight (with the tfv8 q2) anyway,, I took a sewing needle and squered the cotton through the wick holes carefully not to damage the wire or anything, to loosen up the cotton. After doing this the juice wicks VERY well and the coils last a long time. Hope Smok realizes this and fixes this. However your problem IS a bit different,, the "T" series coils, there's not enough cotton between the actual coils in the unit itself,, again the juice doesn't wick fast enough.. poor design.. thus the cotton burns out very quickly.im sure your doing everything correctly, it's the coils not you. Hope this was helpful for you

The coil wattage ratings are exaggerated just like many mod max watts.
if you vape at the max rated watts they do not last long at all.
Good for profits on coil sales.

Coils I found that worked the best for me is the Q2, 0.4ohm.
I definitely agree that these coils are hit or miss and many don't wick well at all. I just change mine and got 2 1/2 weeks out of my last one. I was happy with that. I am just glad I started building. As I get more into it I don't see me using my tanks except for the times it is just more convenient or I am out at a function.

T8 coils should last a long time 5 weeks or so I vape below what they recommend on the beast tank (115w max)

I go through a ritual every time I use a new coil

1) sort that black rubber seal out it should sit flush no wire poking out at the ends (push them back with a thin screwdriver carful not to damage the seal or push them to far to cause a short)
2) I put 3 pin holes in each cotton section (vertically push through) also pin at the top for good measure (although careful not to disrupt coil)
3) I prime the coil about a week before my other coil is due to die (wrap it in cling film and leave it)
4) screw it in tight assemble tank close air vents draw and check it's air tight
5) add juice to the tank and draw once before firing closed air vents still
6) start at 70w (open air vents) on the beast tank version vape until you see bubbles and increase by 10w...repeat until you reach target wattage

Should last you a long time now ;) the pin holes are because they pack in cotton tight help wicks quickly when chain vaping

This I am going to try next time I change coils, I forgot to try this last time and just changed it two nights ago. So in about 2 or 3 weeks.
If I would have to do everything else to get them to last the 2 or 3 weeks I would always use my RDA on it and be done with it.

Same thing was happening to me, 3 days max, coils couldn't seem to keep up.I was ready to give up on the coils too until I made some good size holes in the side cotton with a pin and it makes such a huge difference. They now last me a long time and the flavor is great.

The Q2 in my opinion is the best so far for me for flavor and air flow. I did do the "pin hole method" as I was getting an average of only 3-4 days before huge taste dimishish and burnt taste. I actually used a syringe needle to put one hole on each of the 4 juice slots and it is working great! I don't think you could use this method on the quadruple, sextuple or octuple coils since they are more tightly packed in there. Time will tell how long this coil lasts but so far is wicking much better, flavor is better and air flow improved

Go figure? Ok,well I simply don't believe you because you are lying..lol Poking holes is the only way you will get even a week of acceptable.vapimg from Any pre build smok coil, either that or.you hit it once or twice a.day,in that case I apologise for accusing you of lying.

Figuring.done. Everyone, I love the smok tank but the best fix for.the coils is the hole.poking unless someone can come up with a better soulution..

And NOBODY that gets smok coils.now will see better than 3 days if you like vaping. Lol

I just got a smok X8 baby and I'm only running the 3000 mAh battery it came with so it doesn't over do the wattage,it came in the kit and I'm getting.about 2 days a coil and I have primed, then let sit full with juice and did.dry hits in between to make sure I sucked more juice into the cotton, never overvaped etc.. and 2 days,my friend. To bad too because I love the thing.

I'm going to do the hold poking thing in it,I do believe this is the only solution to a coil made to die fast.

This is great advise...I was getting dry hits A LOT and I too was getting frustrated. I used a sewing needle and poked holes through and through. This was suggested by Rip Trippers. Now the coils are working great.

I find they are just not consistent in quality. In one of my BB tanks I had a coil last over a month (T8) Although flavor was gone I continued to use it to see how long it would last.....Other times I've had good runs of a week or two, then a run of one to three days. I am having the same inconsistency issues with the TFV12 Prince.....
I do not think it is just Smoktech either, I have similar issues with my Valyrian coils, though not as much. My daughter has the same with her Eleaf coils....

When I got my 1st Baby Beast I had bought a few boxes of the X4 coils and that is all I used. When time came to reorder my supplier was out of stock so I bought the T8 coils and used one that came in the box with the kit. That one lasted only 1,000 puffs where I get an average of 5,000 out of an X4 coil. At first I was saying I should never have gotten the T8 coils but now the 1st one out of a box I bought is at 2,500 puffs and still going strong. Maybe the ones that came with the kit suck or are bad? I fire it at 35W for the T8 which is about 25% less than the recommended minimum wattage I run lost my coils at anyway. Hope it helps and these comments are my own personal experience and in no way a tutorial or up for debate.
