Hi there, totally new to vaping and finally took the plunge today after winding down my smoking to just a few cigs a day.

Went for the SMOK V8 Stick kit which comes with the Beast Cloud coil and loving it.

Have started with 6mg juice but this thing kicks so don't think it'll be long before i drop to 3mg to really enjoy the clouds!!

Just wondered if anyone knew tge Wattage this stick is set at, it's not a fancy variable one but can't see anywhere that says 'watt' it is.... Couldn't resist..!

Thanks so much all... and hello!

It's an unregulated stick... that means your wattage will be derived via ohms law from the voltage. Since the voltage will start out around 4.2 volts and drop to around 3.4... your wattage, using the stock .3 ohm coil heads, will range from around 59 to 39...

Thank you so much Shawn, that answer couldn't be more perfect!

I appreciate your help.

I can really see myself getting into all this, what regulated tank (mod? - I'm still trying to get used to the terminology!?) would you recommend - without spending a fortune... Saw one in the shop today almost £200...!

Also, many juice sites seem poorly thrown together, do you have a UK one you rely on that are good?

Again, thank you, sorry for the Spanish inquisition!? Ha

As I'm in the US, I'll likely be little help on your shopping journey.

What are you looking for?

Apologies Shawn, literally noticed that you were in the US as a clicked send.

Looking for a variable wattage mod (is that the right term?) that will work well with the beast cloud coil, no more than the $60-70 region...

Do you want internal battery for extra battery?

Eta: that should have read "external battery" instead of "extra..."

Nah... you're fine... take a look at the eVic VTwo or Eleaf iPower. Both offer 80 watts, long battery life on internal batteries, and firmware upgrades...

I have a Vtwo. The Cubis Pro tank is not so exceptional (it's decent) and the mod is alright. Works fine, nothing extraordinary. I use mine with a Big Baby Beast on top.

I recently got a Wismec Reuleaux RX2/3 and it blows the Vtwo away. I use it in 3 cell mode and it's simply fantastic. For $45 I couldn't imagine getting better bang for my buck.

That mod is good... but the additional cost of batteries and charger would have significantly pushed the price up...

You're right. If price was not a factor I would get the RX2/3 over the Vtwo any day, but otherwise the Vtwo is an all-around good kit.

I do recommend a different tank though (and not because of spitback but because of lack of flavor with the Cubis Pro).

OP said he wanted to run his Baby Beast (or whatever came with the Smok V8 kit) on it... Personally, I hate the Cubis... got my VTwo as a stand alone mod. I liked the eGo ONE Mega that came with the original, though...

Just been looking at some vids of the clouds you can get with these units on the Beast quad coil, holy heck! Amazing!

Don't think ill be using my 6mg juice with them though....!?

Loving the early steps into this world. Cigs knocked on the head and new gadgets to play with... Happy chap! :)

Thanks for all this info.

I don't find much difference between 3mg nic and 6mg nic aside from less flavor with 6mg. My nic cravings subside equally with both amounts.

Congrats on joining the vaping community!

Cheers, I'm loving it! And it's the beginning I'm well, well aware!

I'm just thinking that the larger clouds of 6mg might be too 'harsh' but, again, no real idea if the mg makes any real difference to that or not...? Just guessing at this stage.. On many things!?

One of my juices is definitely notably less smooth than the other two, despite all being 6mg, so is it that the juice type/quality actually has more bearing on that rather than the nicotine mg's..?

There are three things that alter the taste/throat hit... PG, Nic, and some flavors... cinnamon menthol is gonna kick no matter what the Nic or PG level is. High Nic is harsher, and higher PG is harsher.

In terms of Nic level... here's how I explain it...

You want to get tipsy, not falling down drunk, and the e-liquid is the booze.

A cigalike is like a stir straw... you'll rupture a lung before you get much through it. To get tipsy, there, you're going to need something strong!!! Cigalike are often formulated with 36 or 48 nic! Think Bourbon or Scotch... 80 to 100 proof.

An eGo pen is like a normal everyday straw. The draw is a little more open, and you can get a proper swallow. It's still going to take some time, though... better make that in the 12 nic range. Think liqueurs... 40 to 60 proof...

A typical subohm tank is like a big straw you might get with a milkshake. You can certainly get a gulp out of that. Better cut down to 6 or 9 nic. Think strong beer or wine.

These new tanks... and RDAs a RTAs with massive decks and wide open airflow... just wow... this is like a funnel. Better cut down to 3 or less. Think cheap beer.

Just as you would not try to guzzle a good, strong single malt Scotch through a funnel (not only would you not enjoy it, but you'd likely end up hospitalized), you don't want to try getting tipsy off of a beer sipped through a pinhole sized straw.

Of course, there are some...

Amazing explanation! Ha!

Makes a lot of sense, the one juice i have that feels a bit 'harsher' interestingly does have the highest PG % so as you say that clearly has a bearing.

The 40%PG/60%VG 6mg Spearmint i have is super breezy ;)

Also think my 'technique' is part of it, i still keep trying to draw like a cig and 'take it down', no problem on my wife's small epen, but with the beast cloud...!? No chance, ha.

Seriously awesome reply mate :)

the v8 stick is not unregulated, it is a constant 3.7V

the tank is the big baby beast (not the baby) ..although the v8 baby stick is coming out in about a month

Can a RDA be used on the V8 stick?
Ive used one... Just build your coils to your specs, and know that it'll always fire at 3.7 volts. So build your coils to match the watts you desire, like my .22Ω dual coil in my rda fires around 70watts on my stick v8, and my .25Ω is around 50watts... Just mess around with it and youll find the sweet spot... I like .15Ω -.22Ω. Good luck.

I have been vaping for 3 years now and have had many bad experiences with various companies. Raptor juice are all very good. You buy the 50ml bottle nic free and add the nic shots yourself so dont forget to buy them. 50ml of eliquid costs £7.50 and each nic shot is £1. Each shot makea the liquid 3mg so 2 will make 6mg etc. Also ukeliquid are excellent and have 3 different shops across North London where you can try before you buy.

Hope this helps
