Was sold the wrong mod

Hi im from aus and whilst iv been keen to give up the cigarettes i went into a local vape shop looking to buy a vape.. not having any idea i trusted ol mate behind the counter and he recommended the tesla three with a aspire cleato.. once i got home i realise i couldnt smoke it like a cig.. even tho he knew that was the idea.. so after i researched found out it was designed for sub ohm tanks when i needed ABOVE ohm.. i now have no idea if i can just change the tank? I want a mouth to lung vape NOT direct to lung..

I know the 510 thread will fit but seein as there is no wattage control or volts will this mod adapt or is it completely usless..????

Thanks guys

I can't find real clear info on this mod but it looks like it is a mech mod, but I see TC mentioned which is only available on a regulated box. Either way, I'd suggest you take it back and ask to exchange it for something more suited for your vaping style. Being as you want to do MTL vaping, you could get by with something running a lot less than 150 watts. I always stress that someone new to vaping to stay far away from anything that isn't a regulated mod for you own safety until you have a good understanding of Ohm's Law.

Another example of shops irresponsible sales people trying to make a buck selling beginners over kill mods , not to mention mechs which require lots of knowledge before using:facepalm::facepalm:
Hi Mick, Welcome...there are so many other mods you can research and that would be better for what your looking for. I suggest something that can go up to 100W and get a tank that favors MTL. Look at our regulated mod area for some ideas, Good luck!!

Thanks guys thats great help.. im thinking of purchasing the endura t22 which seems to be more suited for the application.. i dont mind the dtl vape although the aim is to get off the ciggs and with the dtl it just doest give me the throat hit im looking for.. i just dont really wanna throw that mod away if theres a possibility of not buggering it with to much resistance.. has anyone heard of going the other way round with any other style sub ohm mod?

Ï use the matching tank to those, great tank IMO too, you also can sell the other mod in our hardware section here.

yeah shops like to overkill on the hardware. more money for them. clieto is a great tank but not one thats for quitting smoking. the tesla 3 is a built in lipo non adjustable mod (unless u mean the tesla invador 3) so not sure how well it fires on every tank. but for a good MTL tank try an aspire natilus mini on your mod and see if that gives you the vape u need to quit and later on you can use the clieto as an upgrade as it's really a great tank

Just to add my own 2 Cents, that even though I have mod's capable of 100 Watts, I find I prefer the smaller, single battery regulated box mods.

The mod that I am using at the moment has a max of 60 watts and I am running it at 22.5 Watts.

Just saying.........................

Where do you even get the remote idea it is a mech?

Simple Google turns up it's a 150W Mod that does Temp Control

Yeah they way over sold to you, a simple 30W with a Nautilus would work perfect for you and they're cheap.

I'd go back and bitch them out, if you can't exchange it you can still easily vape a Nautilus tank on it since it's a regulated mod.

further investigation I have no idea why some sites are listing it as TC, it does not support TC.

It's a regulated mod but it is not VV. Think of it as a AIO on steriods

@Mickey015 before you go and spend more money on a whole new setup buy this. https://m.fasttech.com/p/5915100
The tesla 3 adjusts the watts based on the ohm of the coil you have. With this coil being 1.6 ohm it'll get you a much lower watt. Also the coil is built for mtl so the draw will be much tighter.

I just looked it up and it IS in fact, a mech, with an internal battery.

Honestly, you would be happier with a adjustable wattage mod and a proper tank. MTL tanks tend to run high ohm/low watt coils. You will also likely want to start with 50/50 VG/PG juice in a MTL tank. That will give you the throat hit you are looking for.

Look at the eLEaf Pico kits or the AIO kits. If you want a mod with a non changeable battery, look at the AIO. If you want to be able to change batteries, look at the Pico.

No it's not a Mech, it's a regulated mod with no VV, check again.

It's regulated to 150 Max and lowest you can build on as 0.1 ohms.

Like I said it's an AIO on steriods

This Mod is essentially just an AIO with a much larger battery

Here is a Tesla III invader. If you have the Invader, you can totally use it with your current atty.

You can regulate voltage using the dial I am pointing at. It does not have an internal battery, takes two 18650s.

It's one of my favorite mods.

Here are the specs from Tesla on the Tesla 3.

Using it with a Cleito should be just fine

The Teslacigs Three is the third iteration of the popular sub mod series. It is a simple, compact, functional and powerful device containing two internal LiPo batteries with a total capacity of 5000mAh, can fire as low as 0.1ohms, and has a brand new revolutionary designed switch. There are no adjustments to be made with this mod, which creates a hassle-free vaping experience. Almost any tank is compatible with the Teslacigs Three mod. And above all,the Teslacigs Three can be used as a power bank for charging your mobile phone or other digital products, free from the trouble of powerless when you are out of door, on traveling, on the way of business trip. Vapers should be sure to give this one a try!

Yep, only real difference between this and something like the AIO is

  • No built in Tank
  • Bigger battery

Like the AIO it's fully regulated but no Variable Voltage/Wattage. So for people who don't like to mess about with adjusting voltage/wattage but still have the safety and controls of a regulated Mod it's actually perfect for them.

Well OP

Unless you were grossly overcharged, IMO you were sold a pretty decent mod you can use for a long time to come, especially if your vaping habits change.

Yeah, I posted the specs for this Tesla 3 (there is a newer 240W version also) above your post

If he has that one, it's looks like a good one to grow into.

Shoot, thinking about getting one. I also have a little Tesla Nano and love that one too.

Yeah it doesn't look bad at all, I might pick one up myself just for a kick around Mod and when I plan on going out for a good Drunk.

Yeah, I'm eyeballing the Tesla 3 on eBay now. $39 and free shipping here in the U.S., so no fuckery with the slow boat from China or Customs.

Nice, simple, massive battery life and you can even charge your phone from it. Perfect when I'm out messing about on a Pub Crawl ..

I just might do it

I use both mine (Invader III and Nano) everyday - and I do have more than a few "high end" mods - I just really like how they vape

Seems like a nice simple beater for you. That's why I ordered a few coolfire IV when they were 10 bucks. Good for when I'm drinking so if I break it I don't care lol

yeah last year I was at a nudie bar supporting the Arts and got my Mutant V2 jacked, pissed me off to no end. They stopped making them back around 2014, it was only a stroke of luck I found another one.

Yep, learned my lesson the hard way, can't tell you enough how lucky I was to find another though. I honestly believe it was the last one available for sale on the net. I really like that Mod, and excellent SS 26650 Mod, I would like to find an Authentic V1 one of these days also.

But yeah, Clones are perfect for when I'm feeling Randy.

That Tesla 3 though, massive battery life and ability to charge my phone ..... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Ok guys too clear it all up.. i took some advice and without spending bulk coin on a new set up i decide to try a different tank on the teslacigs three.... NOT INVADER...
a mate of mine had a t22 so i bought the tank for about 15 bucks.. i banged it on this arvo and its ran great.. i get a great mtl vape not quite the throat hit im looking for.. but.... its definitely a start... much more satisfying and hey.. the question in the first place was.. will the tesla three work with an above ohm tank NOT a sub ohm like intended.. and the answer is yes it will.. it will automatically adjust the wattage and what not to suit..

But thanks so much team for all the info use have been a great help and will definitely keep vaping

No problem! If your looking for more throat hit just try a higher PG juice or more nicotine;)
