Ok, so the wife was bitching that her baby beast tank with the RBA was leaking like a sieve.
I stole the tank from her and fully cleaned and replaced seals. Rebuilt the RBA, rewicked and no leaking.

Got by Big Baby Beast on friday ... installed the RBA, wicked and been vaping it all fucking weekend and using the baby beast on my RX mod.

Get through the weekend and not one issue with either tank. No leaking, no mess, loving them both.
(gave her the Ammit back)

...

Get to work today and no issue until I run out of juice in the tank. Near dry, just a touch at the bottom of the tank that won't feed the wicks. Pop the top open and squirt some juice in.

:gaah: Juice comes flowing out the AFC ... damn it --- who turned on the juice faucet!

Any thoughts / idea / dumb ass jokes for me ?

EDIT: Additional information --
Both RBA's are setup with identical coil builds.
x2-26g/36 fused clapton @ 2.5mm ID | .24 Ohm -- wicked snug in the coil and poked mid-level juice holes

leaking for the RBA deck would be the wicking. I never sued the BB RBA (don't have an RBA head for it) but hopefully someone here has. as a general rule though try again with more cotton

I'll get one made tonight ... :giggle:
My experience has taught me that it is a futile effort. You will get an occasional tank of ok flavor/vapor and then waste 5 tanks with leaking/burnt hits/muted flavor. If you use basic round wire and low watts they are fine but anything else sucks. I love rebuildable tanks and hate every tank that comes with prebuilts and dangles an rba in front of you face like a carrot daring you to use it. If you want to build coils, buy a rebuildable tank, but thats just me.

I'm feeling ya on that statement. I have both styles and thus far the RBA "coil" style seem to leak way more often. I'm just still to new in (IMO) to let myself think that it's not me and how I am doing it / not doing it correctly.

Im with ya, gotta try to get it to work because plenty of people say they work great, problem is most of them are running a basic round wire at 35 watts. Those fucking rba's are like stepping over a dollar to pick up a dime, afterwards you realize it was a silly idea.

Running mine with supplied fused claptons. Vaped it from 40w to 80w. I've been through 6 tankfuls in 3 days. Vaped it dry on purpose twice. No runs. No drips. No errors.
It doesn't need a lot or wick, but it does need enough. Just gotta figure out what enough is.
Now excuse me while I go refill mine again. :D

LMFAO! I rewicked the baby beast with a little more wicking and have gone through two tanks now without issue. Gotta be just a wicking issue.

Once I get the wicking figured out (I'm taking measurements), I'll do a write-up on it like I did on the Ammit tank. I've got that one down to a science now.

I'm happy to say that I'm 99.9% sure I've got the wicking figured out on these RBA's for the BB tanks. The wicking technique that I posted last night hasn't leaked once on either tank and I've filled them both up at different intervals in the current juice levels in the tank.

If interested, I've completed the tutorial on wicking the RBA coil for the SMOK Big Baby Beast / Baby Beast tank.
http://vapingunderground.com/threads/smok-big-baby-beast-baby-beast-rba-wicking-technique.300259/
Before you posted this, this is almost exactly what I started doing. The only difference is I will trim a small amount of the cotton off the ends as I'm stuffing it into the juice well. I do this to keep from packing it too tightly in the juice well. I still get a very small amount of leaking from time to time.

But a new issue has come up. I now have great flavor between 45 and 60 watts, but I only get between 2 and 3 days out of the cotton before the center section of the cotton is burned away (the part inside the coil). When I go to rewick the coils and pull the old cotton out, each end pulls out separately. I dry burn each time and I can't see any hot spots, which is what I thought was causing the cotton to burn away.

I have never had so much trouble with an RBA/RTA as this. I have 3 Kangertech tanks that I used for about a year without any issues. I'm wondering if the dual could head is just too much. Or maybe the coils are the issue? I'm running stock coils.

Here is setup: Alien MOD, set to 45-60 watts, normal (not hard), 0.363 ohms, hits at under 5 volts, 13.28 amps, air flow wide open. I close the air flow to fill and immediately open it to take a draw off of it to keep it from leaking.

I might try different coils and see what I can figure out...maybe a micro coil would be better???

sounds like too mcuh chain vaping. the wick can't keep up with the vaping maybe? what kinds of cotton are you using? it could also mean you are using too much and hence choking the cotton and the middle can't wick

That makes sense. I do chain vape. The flavor is great right up until the end, but I don't get a dry hit. It starts to taste different so I know it's time to change the cotton. I use cotton bacon and it is just tight enough to slide through the coil. I have to twist a little as I'm pulling it through. Any less and it leaks through the air holes (which does not make any sense). I loose so much juice with less cotton. The flavor is so great with the way I wick it now and very little leaking, almost none. Actually, I believe the only time it leaks is right after I fill the tank, but not always.

make sure after you put the cotton in the coils move it back and forth (don't twist) just back and forth until it can slide easily without pulling the coils
Skip to about 13:30 in my video here to see what i mean. this way of wicking works for me on any tank with no leaks. I'm also using cotton bacon

I have not looked at the video yet, but yes, I do that. Once I have the cotton where I want it, I do slide it back and forth.

Just to give an idea of this ... i've vape about 6-8 tanks a day on this thing. I am currently bouncing between a "fruit" type of juice and a "bakery/sugar cookie" juice. This will look like :poop: on the first picture, and then clean on the last. Cotton won't be burned and I'm running this .2ohm coil at 65-75w.

when u get a chance check it out. skip to 13:30 and it's only like a 2-3minute watch. same technique i always use and works for me all the time. no leaks or dry hits on any tank

I just did. Yeah, mine does not slide through that easy. I'll try less cotton again and see...maybe I wasn't pushing the cotton away from the air holes when I was using less cotton.

make sure you fluff it out at the ends as well and cutting an angle in it helps wick faster.

is priming before you put the cotton into the juice well better?

On the BB RBA I personally don't. On other RTA's I do. I juice that RBA after I put the sleeve on it.

So....I'm going to try the same things with the Beast RBA section....I have the same issues with that as well...however, I do have another issue with that RBA. I have a seriously muted flavor from it. No matter what I have tried, I can't get that to taste anywhere near as good as the stock coil...I use the Q4 coil and I have tried several others including the T8. The Q4 IMO is the best flavor. The RBA is almost no flavor at all!

It depends. I wouldn't say better or worse, just different. for me personally i like it better, i find it easier to place the cotton correctly when it's wet. Some prefer to prime it after placing the cotton. it's more a matter of preference but i prefer priming before setting the cotton in place

my suggestion is to build bigger coils or close off some of the air. Flavor is all about the combination of airflow to surface area/power of the build. the less vapor the coils are kicking off, the less air needed to make a good mixture

im getting little flavor as well. Ive tried micro coils in 26 kanthal, spaced out in 26 and now im using twisted 26 spaced which is giving me the best of all three. still not on par with the premade coils.

I finally got some different coils and for whatever the reason the flavor is incredibly better. Also, this makes NO sense, but the leaking issue is gone! I purchased some Tiger coils. I wick it exactly the same as before. I'm 5 days on the Beast and about the same on the BB. I chain vape though so that's probably why I only get about 5 days. Stock coils also only last me about a week, maybe 10 days. I make my own juice too, so that is also another reason I get less time with coils...too dark and too sweet.

I'm running the Beast at 85 to 95 watts. Air flow wide open. The ohms are around .24. The flavor is still not as good as the Q4 is to me, but it is close. I get a little popping at first, but it goes away after a few puffs.

I haven't used the BB in about a week so I don't remember what I have it set at, but I think it was a little lower. I did find they both leak a little when they sit unused, but not much. Kind of like several other non-rebuildable tanks have for me.

Also, I purchased a Tobeco Super Tank 25mm rta and used the Tiger coils for that tank too. It is my main tank now.

I continue to have the "piss out the bottom of the air flow area" no matter how I wick it. I think it's from the top seal not fitting correctly and causing a vacuum to push out the juice, but for the life of me can't figure out how to fix it. It pours out right when you rotate the top to close it. You can hear it pushing the air. Kind of like a burp. I think the top deck where the white gasket sits isn't machined deep enough because all of the seals I've tried have the same problems with every gasket. They seem to be too thick. Any advice?

The thickness of the gasket is what keeps the top from popping open. Doesn't seem like it could be too thick, as long as it closes.

Are you sure you don't have the gasket upside down? I know it will leak from the top if it's upside down. But your leak is from the bottom, so that's shouldn't matter in your case.

Also, if the gasket formed a vacuum seal, it would leak from the bottom if I opened the top with a tank full of juice. It doesn't. Or at least mine doesn't.

I'm thinking it's either your wicking, or an o-ring isn't sealing properly. If it leaks when the juice level is below the chimney o-ring, then either the o-ring at the base of the coil is loose or bad. If it only leaks when the tank is full, then it's the chimney o-ring that isn't sealing.

Only leaks when Juice level is high and when you shut the top. It literally streams out. You can hear it pushing the air out. It's only on the big baby tank and only with the RBA. I've seen a few videos on YouTube saying replace the gasket because it is sticking up too much. I've tried and same problem. The regular baby beast isn't near as tight and works just fine at sealing.

I don't actually have a big baby, only the baby and cloud beast. Still, it almost has to be the chimney connection. Have you tried screwing the coil into the chimney first, then screwing the tank together?

I had the same problem with a brand new tank, I was new to the whole building your own and I found out the problem was the wicking they didn't have enough cotton down in the reservoirs make sure they're packed good and no problem sense and mind you mine was only leaking when I was feeling it

Your leaking problem should improve if not go away completely if you just screw your coil onto the top part of the atomizer first. This is working very well for me. You wont need to wick it so tightly. Happy Vapin :)

When filling a top fill tank you have to close the airflow first.Fill it up and close the top.Now you have just created pressure and it will suck the juice down the airflow if you open it.So turn it upside down and then open the airflow so it releases the pressure.Done.
