XTAR VC4 or LUC V4 4-bay charger?

Which one is best? I just bought a Nitecore D4 and the metal slider inserts are as terrible and cheaply made as the 3 year old I2 I had back a while ago. XTAR I know is less rough of your battery wrappers upon insertion, while NiteCore chargers are too tight that damage to any battery I use it with becomes slightly beat up over a few cycles. I know about the dual bay 2A "SV2" or Rocket charger or whatever the name, but I would like an opinion on a good full feature, safe. 4-bay charger in the 20-25 dollar range. Any input would be appreciated.

Don't know about best.
Got the VC4 and it works just fine.
Heard the the LUC is a good one too, just have a problem with buying Efest products in general.

Never had my old I2 damage any battery wraps, you just have to be gentle with it, pull the slide all the way back with you finger and then put in the battery.

I have a vc4 and it works well, is consistent and reliable, and was reasonably priced.

Its a matter of quality, dependability, and warranty with those 2 choices.

Xtar = Cadillac
Efest = Toyota
Nitecore = Kia

Xtar in general have the best warranty, almost 12months in most cases, Efest and Nitecore a 30 or 90day warranty. I have both chargers, the VC4 at home which is rocking 2years old, along with the LUC 4 I use as my mobile charger, and an LUC Blu6 I use at the shop I work at, the LUC4 has 3years of mileage on it and has never let me down, where my first Nitecore i4 one charge bay went dead within 9 months of heavy use. Have the extra cash, go the VC4 just for the warranty of the unit.

You're making it sound like you would need to take a loan to buy an Xtar

Still quite cheap and totally worth it (well unless you buy the Xtar Dragon which nobody really needs).

Got the Xtar VC4 a month or two ago for $17... not exactly pricy.

My year and a half old LUC V4 is still fine, and I miss the 4x1A ability, but I needed the Xtar's multi-chemistry capabilities for rechargeable AAs and AAAs. The LUC is probably feeling neglected by now.

And I really haven't had any issues with the spring tensions on either so I'm no help in recommending one over the other.
So it's... want the total mAh on the display or multi-chem charging, get the Xtar. Want the faster rate with four at a time, get the Efest.
The Nitecores don't do 4x1A either.
And IIRC the 6-bay LUCs don't have a power supply to do 6x1A. Too bad, I would have bought one.

That is a pretty full featured ready-to-go 4-bay.
I guess it ought to be for a hundred bucks.

I was expecting some RC hobbyists unit where you have to source separate cabling and sleds, but no... a complete charger.

yep hardcore right there but worth a mention surely overkill for most . I myself am Anal about batteries so for me its great there are others that are awesome as well that are not commonplace but better than most of the common ones us Vapers use the Flashlight and RC guys are like Rockstars in this area

The slides are crap. I put batteries in and they are at random angles and if the batteries are moved I get a different volt reading.
So, I have to be extra careful when I put batteries in so that the voltages match or within .01V of each other.

Much to like here, however that one 'fail' kinda has me looking for a different charger. Why should I have to worry about the placement of batteries when I haven't ever had that problem with other chargers?

Given a choice between the two you mentioned, I'd say go with the XTAR. Another charger that is new, and seems to be getting good reviews is the HohmTech Hohm Base, and I'm thinking about giving it a shot as my next charger.

The best bang for the buck charger for advanced cycling etc is still the opus bt-c3100 V2.2 which is identical to the 3400 which is 25.00 t0 30.00 more

I might have grabbed an Opus, I had just started looking into them, if I hadn't come across the really good price on the Xtar.
They're regarded as a solid step above our usual three makes.

What I had started to find was debate over the differences between the 3100 and the 3400 and whether the power supply had been upgraded, or even needed it in the first place. Complete with the requisite page after page of graphs that you'll find on the Torch (flashlight) Forums... they, like RC'ers, appear to favor PC/Lab monitoring software we don't have in widespread use yet.

A quick look shows the 3100 running about $32 and the 3400 going more near $48... give or take a couple bucks. Still worth it.

haha no kickbacks man I just am passionate about batteries and chargers something that is lacking in the vaping world. as you know its funny how much people spend 200 on a mod but want a 15.00 charger
Yeah the Opus can cycle refresh as well as see the total capacity so you can mate batteries etc match its a great charger maybe kickbacks could be an idea hmmm
