V8-T8 vs. V8-T10 Cloud Beast Coils

I just started to realize that, yes, the TFV8's deca coils are delicious and so far are the top cloud chaer coils on the market yet, the V8-T8 octuplets aren't really much weaker in the flavor and vapor production at all. I notice the clouds are more insane than insane cloud amounts can ever be, but the eliquid needs filling every 3 vape hits. I use a lower wattage and not usually more than 170W on soft mode but it's fun to try but dont buy a pack of them. I would get a single coil if you have extra 7 bucks and even take it out after you think your liquid supply is running low too quickly. I dont mind using liquod but filling over and over again is not fun. I got a good 7 or 8 big hits though with short fire button presses, off an octuplet before and I'm sticking with those and V8-Q4 coils. Those last and are impressive performers if you have an older mod or a dual battery mod without strong enough batteries. They are just right for most casual vapers so dont dismiss the cloud beast turbo v8 coils nust try those. Anyway, i dont suggest buying the deca coils at all. Just use the V8T8s or try them if you havent because they are better to vape consecutively, can be enjoyed at 130W and will blow dripping into the stone age if you know how to cloud chase. Just dont waste your money, liquid, or time when the v8t8s are too similar and I may even say theyre gonna give the same experience, overall. I dont believe the absolute max wattage though not in the sweet spot range wont fry the coils so think 160W range as a sweet spot or 142W on the v8t8s. Dont be intimidated by the fact theyre the best or one of the best. Stick to octuplet v8 coils. That's my real review and its a thimbs down on the deca coils.

I prefer the V10 coils. i can't argue with saving battery life and juice but even at 130-150 watts the T10 coils kick the ass of the T8 coils for flavor and vapor production.

this was my head to head matchup using the T10 coils vs the arctiv V12 tank and their best coil

I've heard both good and bad reviews of the cloud beast in general. I'm still a newbie and have both the baby and big baby but still looking for more flavor. The Q2 coil works ok but the X4 sucks. Haven't put the T8 that came with the baby in yet. Any thoughts?

the more coils the more flavor lol. basic rule of thumb for these devices. Personally I think the TFV8 is the best tank on the market (full size) and the baby beast and big baby beast are the best for mid wattage tanks (70 watts or less) but with the TFV12, Maxo V12, and EXo XL coming out the TFV8's time at the top could be numbered

The T8 rocks. I get more flavor out of my baby with the T8 than I get from any of my rebuildables. :)

Good to know. I have to run the X4 so low it's hard to get flavor out of it. If I go over 45 watts I burn out the damn coil. I bought a 5 pack of them when I bought my big baby. Still have 2 left. If I get time to get to a vape shop soon I'll grab a pack or 2 of the T8 and hope for the best.

Yeah, I am running the t8 at 70 watts and it is super smooth and packed with flavor. Let us know what you think of the t8 once you have tried it! :)

By the way, I could not find the t8 coils anywhere online so I ordered the t6 coils. Had anyone tried the t6 coils? If so, what do you think of them?

Ya. All Smok coils are getting scarce. I tried one T6 got an odd taste out of it. I may not have primed it properly.

Well I got 10 of the T6 coils coming to me. I hope I like them. If you find any T8 coils anywhere, please let me know, ok?

I'm searching online now. All I can find is the T6. How long does the RBA usually last?

The RBA deck is for building your own coils and doing your own wicking.

Yes. I understand that. I've never done it. I'm asking about if I were to start building on my RBA, how often would I need to rewick and rebuild the deck?

Depends on juice and build. I have used the same kanthal build in my rebuildables for months. Wick change about a week or so. Sometimes 2 weeks is the juice is really clean (and I don't dry hit it at all lol). Hope that helps you. Rebuilding is definitely cheaper in the long run. Of course if you start buying a lot of toys and wire and stuff it can get expensive.

Been using the rba in a BB for close to 2 wks now. I prefer it to all the stock coils I've tried. I haven't had any problems with the stockers, I just like the rba better.

As stated above, how often the wicks need changing will depend on your juice, your tastebuds, and your wattage. I don't know how long the fused claptons that come with it will last, but I guess a month at least. Handmade coils using good quality wire can last several months.

As for the T8s...I'd try the one you have before buying a bunch of them. To me, they are slightly better than the Q2 and X4 for flavor, depending on the juice.

I've now been using my TFV8 with T10 coil for a couple of weeks, too. Great combo with no issues. Waaay yonder more airy than the Baby, so not good if like a tighter draw. It holds 6ml, but it goes through it fast. Think of it as a 454 with dual 4 barrels. LOL

Hi all,

I know this thread is a little old and my question is slightly off topic, but does anyone know if the V8-T10 coils work with the Big Baby Beast tank?

Thanks,

They do not. The Big Baby shares coils with the Baby.

And Welcome to VU:cheers:

no they don't
the full size TFV8 cloud beast coils only work with that tank (and apparently the sense blazer 200 lol)
the TFV8 baby beast and TFV8 big baby beast use the same coils

Fastech.com has them all but they are on a holiday until February 3. Ship from China.

Yeah, I will never order from SLOWTECH again in my lifetime. Did that a few years ago a couple of times and got screwed both times.

CV :)

P.S. Thank you for the info though. It is appreciated.

I prefer the RBA as well, and the coils are very nice. I've seen replacement coils for the Beast RBA, but can't seem to find any for the Baby Beast. Anyone else know where to get them, or at least know what the specs on the BB coil are?

(I have built coils for my older RDAs and RDTAs, but I've gotten kinda lazy nowadays, and I've never built a Clapton.)

0.36 ohms for the pair(box claims 0.3). Looks like maybe 26/32 or 26/34.

Wow I bet the baby beast needs refilling every time you take one puff of the most powerful coil Smok makes for the baby (not BIG baby) just the fact I bought a ton a V8-T8s while I have had the good fortune of using one new deca coil til it's two day lifespan of heavy use-frequent but not technically chain vaping of the coil because I go for as much vapor as I can get without my throat noticing what awesome feat is occuring. That's What I am about now. TFV12 please get on that truck towards my local post office darnit!!!!

Actually, I don't have to refill as often as you would think, despite running the RBA at 70 watts. That said, I'm upgrading my mod from a Sigelei 100+ to a Smok Alien, and from my Panasonic NCR18650B batteries to Samsung 30q, so we'll see if that makes a difference. I've also preordered a TFV12.... So that'll be fun to play with. If the Alien can't push that, then I'll get an Alien GX350.

Are there any comparison threads on the TFV coils? I've only used the Q2 and T8 BB coils. I've noticed the T8 has more flavor than the Q2, but the Q2 seems to give me better vapor. Do the X4 and T6 coils give a better blend of both worlds?

I have the T6 coils and they are not bad, but the T8 coils still beat them in flavor. Just my opinion though. YMMV

I just got some T6s and really like them. I kinda burned my T8, so I'll have to get another one to compare them. That said, I'm enjoying the T6 at 85w

T8 coils are awesome Flavour and clouds last me over a month on average

Just started making my own coils on the big beast RBA deck whilst the flavour is awesome I'm finding it's tasting burnt after 2 days! Is that normal for diy? Am I better off with just simple wraps over a more exotic coil?

too much wattage not enough wick too much wick etc. the RBA deck should last at least as long as a premade coil but probably even longer

Pretty much what SirRichard said. Wattage, wicking, your particular juice, and how much you vape all play a role. Some rewick daily, some weekly. It's just something else you'll need to fiddle with and figure out. Good coils should last months, but the wicks may need changing fairly often.

Hmmm just checked my cotton was white but my coil had burnt wtf

Was only vaping at 80w had dual fused claptons coils on reading 0.34ohm

Next coils are gonna be simple wrap ones see of that makes a difference to thier longevity

Running 75 VG and it's not dark diy liquid just off white (diy HICs white tic tac flavour) which I vape all the time on the pre made

Ahh bollox back to the T8s I know they work lol

Got an RDTA (Cthulhu Gaia) on the way I'll wait for a proper build deck see if that makes a difference as well never had much luck with this one annoying as wicking was perfect on that last run no leaks, no dry hits meh

I usually make my own coils but with the T8 coils, I am getting 4-6 weeks before have go toss them and even then I haven't had one completely burn and be unuseable. They are expensive at $4-5 each, but cheaper (for me) based on life expectancy over Kanger, Crown or Nautilus coils.

In any case, I have 5 TFV8 tanks (CB, BB and BBB) as well as a couple extra RBAs and I can't see myself using any of the RBAs anytime soon.

I guess when my stock of coils runs out, I will give them a shot.

Exactly the stock coils just go and go for weeks i really do like them. I've always been happy with the vape, if DIY coil building and replacing cotton every couple of days is going to continue being this much of an every other day chore can I be honestly be arsed with it ...

Trying to expand into DIY coil building and RDA (squonking), get myself a mech ...supposed to be epic, everyone keeps saying flavour will knock the socks off the Beast tank ....keep thinking to myself though..... but I really do like this tank and these coils they're a perfect balance of flavour and clouds for me,

gonna give it a go if it works great I still think this tank will be my ADV though whatever happens but we shall see never tried an RDA so can't compare yet

It's all about what works for you, buddy. If you're happy with something, stick with it. Sounds like you've got other toys to experiment with, while you enjoy what already works. Nothing wrong with that.:)

I'm using a T10 now and have for about a week or so. It's good, but I don't notice any real reason to buy them over the T8. Flavour isn't as good but a bit more cloud if u r into that. I find the T8 is a juice pig but the T10 just pisses thru juice unbelieveably fast. And 120w, it is barely enough. I was at 150-160w and I could see the juice level lower with every puff and it was getting hot.

I like the quad (T4?) too. Better than the T6 and X4. T8 is likely my favorite of all of them though.

The T6 on my BB gives great clouds and flavor, and at 85 watts, my battery is only down a third for the day. This is heaven.

I loved the RBA with the original coils. The cotton lasted for weeks at 75 watts.

Yeah the original claptons coils lasted ages for me too on the RBA hmmm perhaps it's my dodgy coils then?

What material were they do you reckon? I've been using 316l

I find that just regular cotton works the best for me. I bought a roll of medical cotton at Walgreens. I've tried bacon cotton, Japanese cotton, etc... They just don't work as well.

Have you tried rayon?

I vape the v12 now but i must say the t8 is better than the t10. The reason is because the t10 restricts too much airflow. NOW a v12 t10 would be bad ass because the coils are bigger and the coils could be made larger for more airflow. I think the t12 coils restrict too much air also.
