Hi all,

So I just goy my new xtar vc4 and have a question about the mah readout.

I put in a set of sony vtc4's and they charged fully to 4.2volts, however the mah readout is displaying 1678 on one battery and 1698 on the other.

I was under the impression that they were 2600 mah batteries? Is there a reason they would be reading so much lower?

Thank you for any input.

Hey, first of all the VTC4 is a 2000-2100mAh battery.

Secondly the battery has to be all the way down at 2.5V before putting it on the charger to get an accurate reading. This is one reason why the VC4 is a little misleading about it's mAh readout. It's only how much charge it puts in...it doesn't guarantee that the battery was empty before. Imagine if you have something measuring how much water you put in a bucket but the bucket already had some water in it before you started, that's what this is like. This is why you need a real battery analyzer that fully drains the battery to actually test real mAh.
