This is now the second Coil Master 521 Tab that I have purchase. The first one was the full version (non mini), and the newest release. That unit would not accuratly read the ohms of coils on multiple different decks.
So -- I sent it back to Amazon and got a refund.

I ended up purchasing another Coil Master 521 Tab (mini) from Amazon as it was only $18.95. I figured, I had gotten a junk unit as multiple other members here had the CM tabs and have had NO issues with them.

Well -- another Coil Master 521 tab is now being returned to Amazon. IMO -- They are a pile of :poop:

that's odd. I have 2 of the full size and they both work perfect. best investment i ever made.

I agree with you, and I know many others have not had issues with them... However, they seem to have issues with me. Two different models of the CM now have gone back.

geekvape or USAohm meters are other options. maybe you'll have better luck

Got the Geekvape last weekend. So far so good. No jumping ohm readings and are very close to readings on my other mods (within .01 and .05ohm difference).

nice!
my main reason for wanting the CM one (and not the mini) was it's useful for mechs and hybrids. you can test voltage drop and be able to read resistance of hybrids that don't have 510 pins

Maybe try one from a real vape shop and not amazon, while I trust them for most things, vape gear is not one

Mine 521 Tab works great. love mine. I had a friend that could never wear a watch, it would stop when on his arm, on a table work forever, I wore it for a month and worked fine, he would put it on and time would stand still. How is the electric magnet field in your body? LOL

Well, I would have to say that I have the exact SAME issue. I can't wear a watch either. My mother was the same way, she can't wear a watch.

I have a Geekvape 521 tab (I never use) and it works pretty damned well. Never used the CM though.

Yup, my Geekvape 521 has been flawless since I got it. I will end getting one of the USA made ones next.

For what it's worth I know of plenty of people and vape shops alike who rely regularly on the Coil Master 521 with zero reported issues. So you may have just gotten the short straw, twice.

The switch in the coilmaster is poop. You can fix it by bending the leg a little and it will make proper contact, must be something they do in manufacturing that it doesn't like. Mine was the same and I was going to replace the switch so I thought I may as well try messing with it and it fixed the issue. It's the post on the outside of the switch, just tweak it a little outwards and it's done. You can test it beforehand by shorting either outside pin to the centre pin to see it is stable, if its not you will need to replace the switch.

ive had 2 full cm521s and the first one crapped after 8months, sent it back, got my refund. went and purchased a new one from another vender. that one crapped out doesnt read ohms correctly december2016. during all this time i still used my geekvape 521 mini on and off. now its my goto tab. thinking of picking up another one as my back up. i will never buy another Coil master 521 full, its not worth the hassle or the price.

i just use a mod.

Seriously, the ohm readers on most regulated devices (the best being DNA's and SX's) have gotten pretty damned accurate, especially the DNA's. Also the coil tabs don't pack nearly enough power to pulse up huge, thick wire coils. Because of this, my Geekvape 521 tab never gets used.

If you really want to read low Ohms accurately, You need a 4 wire Ohm-meter... I'd question how accurate your 2 wire Fluke is....
yes for sub.1 ohms you need a milliohm meter, Kelvin clips and all.
My Fluke reads .1 accurately and I never go below .2 so I am good.
I have dovpo mod and a couple of Smok mods that read off the rest are within .1 of dead on.
So fine for me.

I do too

When I first posted about building my first coil at Brand X forum, it caused a huge heated argument, whether to buy a reader or use the mod

Yeah, I just use a mod. If I question the reading (rare) or want to be extra, extra sure it is accurate, I just test it on a different mod also, lol

The reading on mine is and has been accurate.
I mainly use it for the stability though.
Around here, if it can be knocked over, it will be.
So, the 521. Provides a nice build stand and has the bonus ability to read resistance.
Since I do only TC, that isn't such a big deal either. Mainly stability. Guess I could have bought a 510 and mounted to a rock...

Unfortunately I do not. Haven't been able to justify the cost of them yet. Since October has been two Alien kits and my RX200S, and two PICO 75w. (as you can see the upgrade process) :D
You can pick up some dna 75s for quite low prices , I've even come across a small dna 75c for 50£
