I took one mod and 3 spare batteries all in my carry-on with 1 30ml bottle of juice.

I bought more juice at my destination

Any issues with the mod?

Buying more juice isn't an option for me I'm just going there to pick up a truck and trailer. most vape shops don't have 18 wheeler parking lol

Well, they gave laws on how much liquid anything you can bring on a plane. I'm not sure what they are; but a few hundred MLS is probably going to get confiscated. - could be wrong but, I would call the airport and ask them.
The mod was fine, I use rdas so I had no leaking issues, if you're bringing a tank I would empty it though.

Think I'd have any issues with putting my large bottles in a checked bag?

After a quick gGoogle I'm limited to 100ml in a carry on

What i did, which worked for me, so ymmv.
Carried mod with out batteries in it. Batteries in hard cases, took 4 sets. Carried complete rebuild kit(wire, cutters, sissors, screwdriver, tweezers, cotton) packed into hard case with mod. Two rda and a tank inside the case, off the mod with no juice in them. All this was placed inside a single case, the mod, rda tank rebuild materials. Carried my juices in a quart size zip lock bag, i carried 6 100ml bottles (100ml being the max size of any single liquid allowed by tsa). All this was placed inside my carry on. When i got to the screening i took everything vape related out of my bag and placed into one of the trays to be scanned. Be prepared to be pulled aside and checked. I had no issues on a round trip from mobile al to albuquerque nm.

you should spend the time to look on the TSA website and the start location and end location
here is a brief rundown
BulletPoint Recap:
  1. You can travel with e-cigs on a plane but the FAA has told airlines that lithium ion vape batteries are a fire hazard. Therefore no e-cigs allowed in checked bags. You must travel with your e-cigs as carry-on.
  2. You can travel with e-cigs either on your person or in your carry on bag.
  3. If your carry on bag has too be checked at the gate, you have to remove your e-cigs and any spare batteries before your bag can be checked.
  4. E-liquids are allowed in checked bags as long as the meet the 3-1-1 standards as indicated in the diagram above.

So as long as I split my big bottles between 100ml bottles Im good to carry on?

If you're confused did you call the airport and ask them?
They have people specifically to help you figure out what you can bring and how.
Other than that, pagandevil nailed it.

I'm not sure if the regs for checked baggage. I know that carry on its 100ml per, in a quart sized zip lock bag. I carried 6 100ml bottles with no issue but did so in carry on. Wasn't taking a chance on losing any of it, or having my baggage gone through, just in case.

I didn't take the chance with juice in checked, I just brought 100ml of my regular juice and bought some while I was there. Come to find out I didn't need all that juice anyways.

Where are you going after you pick up the truck? I know of a few vape shops with truck parking real close by to the shop.

I took 9 mods (no batteries in them), 11 tanks (empty), 30 batteries (placed in dual cases) TEN 30ml bottles in 1 quart zip lock bags.
I placed a few of the 30ml bottles in my backpack and a few in my carry on.
Since I was able to take BOTH my carry on AND my backpack with me to my seat since it fit within the restrictions I had everything with me.
I was prepared to lose some juice but even though I went through security 6 times they ignored it each time as it went through the xray.
Don't know if this was due to it being separated or not.
This DID VIOLATE the MAX amount of liquid TSA permits but I was either lucky, they didn't care at that time, or they just didn't enforce it at that time.
The batteries MUST be in your carry-on.
You CANNOT check them.
YMMV

I'm going abroad for Christmas. Taking the lil one on the whole santa experience. Just wondering if any one has gone through customs with diy e juice?
I'd rather take my own as apposed to shop brought as I don't really find most of it what I like. How ever I will vape shop brought if I absalutly must.

Can't see it being an issue. The don't seem to care what the liquid is as long as it's not over the size limit. And the limit is per bottle. So theoretically you could take a dozen 3oz bottles of nitroglycerin and blow shit up without breaking any rules. Other than, you know, transporting explosives and blowing shit up. Lol

I take my DIY on flights and have not had a problem. I normally take two 100ml bottles.

Lmao, all I could picture was the plane scene at the beginning of 'Harold and Kumar go to Guantanamo Bay'. haha. Just going to leave it at that since the details are sketchy for what's allowed on the forums, still funny though.

Thanks gakudzu and carmmond for the advice.

I know we're were going ur not allowed more then 0.48g of nic in any bottle so will prob b multiple 30ml bottles just to be on safe side with them fully labelled with date strength n flavour so I won't be hiding any thing. Just thought I would ask as I'v not flown since I'v been vaping and don't wanna take any thing i'm not allowed to. I'v seen advice on battries mods tanks n shop brought juice but nothing on the net bout diy.

Went to Italy in November. TSA rules were no limit in checked bags. Carry-on limits were as many bottles under 4 oz that you can fit in a 1 quart bag. Now once at your destination, local rules apply. Like I had to throw away an unopened 60ml bottle at the Colosseum because they had a 1oz limit at the time. My own fault for not checking their rules online.

Opening old thread:

One thing I haven't seen mentioned, battery charger? It it fine in checked if batteries are carry-on?

I'm headed to Puerto Rico for 11 days, not going to be near cities much, want to make sure to have plenty of supplies, and charging batteries in mods will likely not be an option.

Yes I have been putting my battery charger in my check in bags and it's fine.
Batteries in cases, juice in clear one quart bag, empty RTA and mod in my carry on.

Just for piece of mind you can Google your air line and ecig and it should link you to there rules. I have flown Delta and American and what I posted holds true...
