I received my Fuchai 213, I guess is what you call this yesterday. Everything is going pretty well with the device. But yesterday, by habit I went to turn it off by pressing the power button 5 times. Ok, this is not how you power down the device, I did this out of habit. What happens when you click the power 5 times, you are into button lock. No problem, right ? Well I was in my car trying to fire this thing up, NOPE lock mode. So i get to my office and and sat there for literally 20 minutes trying to get out of lock mode. Finally I was able to achieve this but pressing the fire button and the - at the same time, about 3000 times.

I was wondering if anyone else has has this problem or is this just my device ? I mean, is there another method to lock/unlock my Sigelei ? Because I am finding the only way to power down is by pulling the batteries out completely. This isnt working for me since I use this as a travel vape and toss it in and out of my briefcase all day.

Thanks,
99

Yes, i can pull the batteries to reset it, but it just doesnt make any sense how this feature is set up.

I have Sig213 and to lock "or" unlock it I just simply press the fire button 5 times. You can also lock or unlock by, like you said, press the fire "and" the - buttons at the same time.
Oh, BTW, mine is a Sigelei 213 (the early version - pic below), not the Fuchai 213. If you have the newer Fuchai 213, th cheaper one, then I'm not sure.

@centella4u I just tried it again and this Fuchai I dont think you can unlock by pressing the power button 5 times. You are forced to use the Minus sign and hit the power button simultaneously. It takes about 90 tries to get it right.

I cant even figure out how to power down without pulling the batteries. I am wondering is this is just my device or they are all this way ?

Seems to be the only issue I am having. So far I like this one a lot.

I have the original 213 and as far as I know there is no way to power the device down.

I got my Fuchai 213 yesterday as well, just clicked the fire button 5 times, device "locked", clicked it another 5 times and it doesn't say "Unlocked" but I can go ahead and use it like normal. Did this 3 times to see, only once did it not unlock but i had a slight pause between one of the clicks, it worked the other 2 times. I just tried it 2 more times, this time at different speeds between clicks and it worked both times.

As has been said, click 5x to lock, then 5x to unlock. There is no way to power it off. It doesn't seem to use much power when idle, so there may be no need to power it off.

OK, just to be clear. Seems we are talking about 2 different versions of a device here, and even the company admitted that there are differences between these two, the major one is the TCR.
Anyway, to make this short, mine is the original "Sigelei" 213 that I got for $69ish while the other one in question might be the "Fuchai" 213 as the company choose to call it.

Mine says Fuchai 213 on the box and Fuchai when you turn the device on, the screen.

What I noticed yesterday was that I was able to [button lock] using the - and [fire] buttons and unlock it with ease (this only locks the [-] and [+] buttons and this works. When you [fire] lock the device by clicking 5 times, you are locking the [fire] button only. They only way for me to unlock this is by pulling the batteries. I cannot leave this mode, It appears my this is defective in my device only ?

I fell like there should be a power button somewhere.

@mjag Once the device is locked, im not sure how you can go ahead and use the device. When I click the [fire] five times all the buttons are locked on this device. Im starting to think this one is defective.

When it is locked by clicking the fire button you are right, all buttons are locked. The device will not fire when locked but clicking the fire button 5 times should unlock all the buttons again, does with mine. Just because it won't fire when you press the fire button does not mean the fire button is now innoperative, just means it is waiting for 5 clicks in a rapid succession to then operate normally again.

This one stays locked no matter what I do. Just seems like a weird function not to work. Everything else seems great. To get our of the locked position I have to pull the battery door. Wich isnt hard to do, but it will break eventually.

The fire plus - is a keypad lock.
It'll lock the plus/minus buttons. But it will let you fire.

5 x fire button = full lock

Purchased the Fuchai 213 Plus today, locked it pressing fire x5 fairly rapidly as with my older Fuchai 200w. It seemed to be stuck in locked mode, was unable to press anything, and 5x more fire did nothing. Searched online, tried a few other ways to press the buttons. Batteries out reset it fine. Figured defected, so my buddy was messing with it..

Solution: the fire button must be pressed at a semi-slow pace. Just 5 presses with no real speed behind them, and it will unlock. If you press it even kind of quickly it will simply stay locked. Locking it, you can press it 5x very quickly and it will lock.

I have both the Fuchai 213 and the original 213 and if you want to unlock it, you MUST press the fire button EVENLY 5 times. If your presses are not even it will not unlock. My guess is it is a safety feature so it will not unlock in your pocket. Just press 5 times EVENLY and see if that works.

I got one for my girlfriend for Christmas and we noticed the same issue. Went in to a local shop and talked to the guys about it and asked what they thought was up. Very simply put, the solution was to just to do the "5 button click" SLOWER. I didn't think it could be so simple lol but had no one told me about it we would still be stuck and frustrated. As @Chainvapor said just click it 5 times EVENLY and make sure to do it SLOW.

Good luck!

You can unlock it with the 5 times fire press, you just need to do it evenly and not rush it.

I've had the Fuchai 213 Plus for about a week. I had the same issue initially. I concur with what others have said here. I can now unlock it successfully every time. You need to make your 5 clicks to unlock very deliberate. Think tick-tock like a metronome. If you button mash it won't unlock. It's a good feature if you have kids like me. The only quirk is that the last (fifth) click still produces the LOCKED message on screen, even though you've unlocked it, which is a bit confusing. I wish Sigelei would have made it more obvious. It was frustrating trying to work it out.

THE KEY IS THE DISPLAY. It is 5x fire button to both lock and unlock; however to unlock, you have to fire at a speed that will activate the screen five times in order to successfully unlock.

Ii have had my 213 plus for about an hour and change. So far I love it. however no off setting is annoying. The lock feature by pressing the fire button 5 times is fine, however unless my eye site is bad unlocking by using the fire button 5 times does not change the display from saying locked. It unlocks it so I can use it but isn't it rather stupid to not have the display change to unlock? Also no time set for display time it goes off before you know it.

Thanks for any input
Les

I have been trying to figure this out for a while now. After many successions of test me and a buddy finally figured out the fire unlock for my model. 5x (fire) to lock button. 5x (fire) at a slower rate to unlock button. Allow time for device to recognize each press of the fire button for unlock. It has worked every time for me now. Still no shutdown method to my knowledge.
