Nice, I didn't even know they made regulated HOGs.
I'd go with the unregulated v3's, of course.
I've been eyeing them..

IKR. I should have jumped on the black one when I could have but I have enough black mods. Trying to color outside the line with my next mod. Something different (color wise).

+1 for the Boss 3000, with a disclaimer. Button rattle. It may or may not bug you personally, but for the price they go for they should be damn near perfect.

That being said it's still my favorite mod, out of a fair collection including a G2, a few other DNA mods and a G Class to name the noteworthy ones. Sturdy as it gets, super clean internals, top notch performance with the DNA 250 chip, and a very high capacity battery for its size. They just need to put some foam behind those buttons.

So you just want an expensive mod not a good one?

American made and American assembled are completely different, but never specified for advertising reasons. You'll be very hard pressed to find a mod entirely manufactured and assembled in the US. Costs are just too high.

Vaporized Nomads Boss 3000. Check them out. Dna250, max amps 1850 and 2800 lipo options, custom 360 degree full wrap etching, mitec, varitube 510. You can get any images laser etched around the whole box. I own a couple and they are worth the 200-500 price tag, depending on options. They just released a dual 18650 version a month ago too. Check them out.

Yeah im telling you Stearly. The build quality, lifetime warranty, and custom graphics options make this thing worth the buy. Plus they use huge lipo packs.

I just woke up after fainting at the $500 price tag  :teehee: :giggle:. Heck, I could get four of the Therion Ltd Ed Snakeskin mods for that tag :D. I'm just messing around, sort of

Cheers,
Steve

Yeah i know they are pricey as hell. I wish they where cheaper. They came out with there dna167 which is much cheaper at around 175 to 200. But you cant get the custom etching on them. They have a couple premade desings.

I actually paid that crazy price for one of mine. Cost me $400 but i think it was well worth it. Not for everybody. Believe me i thought about it for months but finally went ahead and bought one. Then i entered a waffle for another Dna167. Bought one entry for 20 and actually won.

Its hard to shell out that kind of money but i feel its well worth it. American made, the quality is top notch. And these things are works of art.

I wasn't saying they aren't worth the tag. I was just having a little fun. I've heard nothing but good things about the mods.

Cheers,

I know you where joking. I was just trying to rationalize my purchase to myself..lmao. They are coming out with another mod called the Revo-3000 which is a collab. between them and a phillipino company called MRN mods. Its a pollished box with brass accents, dna250, and maxamps 1850mah lipo. It looks awesome but seems like it would take alot of upkeep and polishing. It looks sweet though. They just put up the preorders. 500 big ones!!!

Now that I could see spending $500 on, true customization INCLUDING the box. The others from VN using a generic box that can be bought cheap and charging and outrageous surcharge just because they own a laser engraver is crazy.

Yeah he did rip that mod a new one. I own a couple so i know the quality. They did offer to fix his box but he refused. Ive had one of my Boss mods show up with a issue and i sent it back. From the day i sent it back to the day i got it back was 7 days. Excellent CS and no one can tell me otherwise. He had a different experience and he did his review based on that. He did seem bitter that they didnt do the art like he asked for after they had made his box the way he asked for the first time. Ive heard both sides of that whole Daniel and VN drama. Both sides could have done somethings differently. Daniel is honest and i love his reviews for that.

I just know what kind of product VN puts out and its top notch.

They use to use alpinetech boxes but now use custom designed boxes. They no longer use a generic box as of a couple months ago. Even though the new box is based of the alpinetech box.

Everyone has the right to buy what they want, and i love the shit out of these boxes. There are a couple other people who own one on this forum and they also love theres....

I agree, spending that kind of money for a generic box with lazer engraving is not for me but that doesn't mean no one should buy it. I am just expressing an opinion that I know a lot of other people share.

Now the new $500 mod from them deserves the premium price IMO. You can see the effort put forth and the price is reasonable for the craftsmanship.

I hope VN owners don't take my comments as an insult, not my intention. I was just speaking to the fact that for my money they came out with a mod that is reasonably priced considering the effort they put it.

I do NOT own one so I don't have an opinion, I was just curious if that was the one that was being discussed.
While I cannot make an informed opinion of the quality of the box due to my personal opinion that there isn't a mod on the planet worth that much money, that would still be a personal opinion.
I suppose it is possible it is the greatest thing since the air we breath was invented, however I will never know unless the price were to be about 1/4 what it is.

Now THAT is one sexy beast right there.
WOW that looks amazing.
But just like an awesome hot rod or bad ass bike, I still wouldn't shell out the clams it'd take to own one.
I've rode a few $100,000 bikes but I'd damned sure not buy one.
They are great to look at, even better sitting in someone else's driveway for THEM to worry about someone scratching it or looking cross eyed at it.
While we aren't talking about that kind of money for a mod I think each of us has still placed a price in our head the max amount we'd pay for one.
These are way over my limit for my own personal justifications.
Other obviously have different dollar amounts set.
That's the beauty of it all, there is something for everyone.

I dont think VN will take any offense to your comments. They probably wont ever see them. They are busy and i dont think they come on this forum. I was no way saying you where bashing the Boss. Everyone is entitled to there opinion.

Yeah the thing is i rather have a few mods that i really love and have top notch quality, rather than 40-50 chinese mods that just collect dust because i cant use them all. Either way your spending alot of money. To each there own....

Lmao, i only wish i had that thing. I dont think i have another 500 to drop on a mod at the moment or in the near future. That mod doesnt even get released for another month. They are taking preorders for it. Maybe one day. What worries me is it seems like a finger print magnet and looks like it will scratch easily. Not to mention the upkeep of polishing it every other day...lol
