IMG_1955.JPG hey guys. I've been struggling a little bit with the troll. I'm more or less a guy who only drips but I do want one tank to take with me when the need arises. But for the life of me I can't wick this thing right. It does seem to be wicking but just not fast enough. It doesn't seem to keep up even with only a couple pulls here and there. Get a somewhat dry hit here and there. I see the bubbles coming up like it is wicking but only on one side. I have re wicked it 3x now. Watched some videos and tried just putting the cotton in the holes, less cotton with not fully stuffing it and then just a little less cotton and gently filling the holes. Can anyone give me some tips? I truly see the potential with this tank but only if I can figure out this damn wicking!

Seems like you have too much cotton dear, just by looking at your pic.
You want the cotton to fall just below the ring, not hanging down into the holes.
The juice well will fill up and meet the cotton, otherwise you do get dry hits.
Also, after I put the cotton thru the coil I fluff the ends a bit with tweezers & trim the sides of the ends at an angle, making a bit of a point.
Then I will fan that out some.
Place the ends behind the ring, if it's feeling tight I know I need to trim some more.
I make sure it's not obstructing the airhole as I situate the cotton behind the ring. Juice it up some.
Put the tank back together.
When I fill it up with juice I will only fill about 1/2- 3/4 full with airflow closed. Put the top on.
Turn tank upside down, open airflow.
Wait a good 30 seconds, close airflow.
Wait a few seconds, turn upright.
Wait a few seconds, open airflow.
Vape away

I need to put some new coils on so will post dry cotton pics for you when I do, either tonight or tomorrow...

Whats your PG/VG mix?
Glad you asked him that.
I wrote my post based on max vg.
And like super to the max-max vg. Probably 90-ish.
Thinking since dude is used to rda's he prob uses max vg also? Not sure tho.
Just keep that in mind op!

He guys thanks for the response. I use 70-30 and 80-20. Does it with both. I know it looks kind of deceiving in my picture but my cotton doesnt go way down into the juice well. Kind of just below the holes. I will trim some and see how that works. Thanks guys and gals!

I run 3mm 6 wrap Fused Claptons in mine and vape max VG (78+ depending on recipe ) and the bubbles I get are not small in the slightest, I get huge dime sized bubbles going sometimes.

I run the cotton in, slightly snug, and trim right at the barrel ring..Fluff and when looking top down, cut in a 45* from the outer edge to the tips then poke into the holes...juice her up, fill her 3/4s cap and chain vape away.

As for filling, I do similar to LizC. fill 3/4s ...cap on twist, turn back over...and vape away...

EDIT: This tank is a thirsty tank...even more so than the Boreas...I just filled it and absently vaped on it while chatting with friends and look down and its empty lol

Actually, cotton looks a thick.
Before you trim anymore length, I recommend you trim at an angle exactly like So619Cal described, leaving you with a "V" shape hanging down
It shouldn't be a tight fit whatsoever when you're putting your cotton back behind the ring.
It's a fantastic rta, you really will love it once you get past this.
Good luck!

Intro:
Hi all, Anthony vapes here with my review of the Wotofo Troll RTA. As always I'm keeping things honest. No frills, no BS, no overhyping. This was purchased by me for the review so no disclaimer needed.

Overview:
The troll RTA is a "GTA styled" RTA. which means it has a raised build deck in it. It's short, has a good capacity and a decent sized build deck for medium builds. It's a 24mm RTA that is about 43mm high (so pretty short and compact) It comes in 2 colors Black and SS

Included:
In the box you will receive a spare glass, some coils and wick, an instruction manual, and some spare orings and screws

Impressions:
The troll RTA is a short compact RTA. The flavor from it is good but much warmer then it should be due to the design of the deck. Airflow is good and smooth but overall it lacks anything impressive. Run of the mill performance but with below average quality. the cons on this device outweigh the pro's greatly. The extra metal on the build deck makes the vape hotter then it should be. the location of the insulator is too close to the coils and will melt/burn. the post screws are really poor quality as is the threading.

Pros
Size, Flavor, Airflow

Cons
Drip tip (non replaceable), Build quality, Post screws, Build Deck, Insulator position, heat

Conclusion:
Although this was a very hyped up product, i fail to see why (unless people were paid off or not very through), For average performance you get much lower quality then it should be. For that I cannot give this a thumbs up. I'm all about honestly and this is one I think people should pass on. If i lost or broke mine, I would not replace it or miss it at all. This RTA is not Anthony vapes approved! As always I'm here keeping it honest, hopefully you all can say you are doing the same :)

I couldn't agree more with this review.... I'll also add this thing drinks the hell out of juice. I had trouble wicking mine also without it leaking. A couple of times it didn't leak. The other 6 or 7 times it did. I've never had trouble with wicking any other rta I have except the Troll. It was a total waste of my money as it just sits in the box now.

So far so good with my Troll and it's one of my favorite RTA's. One just has to remember as with any of Wotofo's gear, just get the SS versions for the Black versions have serious and I do mean serious quality issues.

I did mention that in the vid cause i trust your judgement, but still i can only review what i have and it shouldn't be different qualities for different colors.

Also @SirRichardRear as we've discussed on another thread there are many other RTA's and RDA's with simular post designs and close insulators. One of them being postless decks have close insulator to the coils and I myself have never run into issues with the insulator issues you point out. And as I brought up in the other thread there are serious Quality issues with Wotofo's Black versions, they're shit.

yeah but with postless you have room to raise the coils further away. with the troll style your coils are pretty close to touching it if you use big coils.

Same with Postless and Big coils, it's just you have the ceiling of the chamber to worry about and not the side ;)

LMAO hey it's possible for 2 adults to not see eye to eye but still have respect for each others opinions. although it's pretty rare to see on forums
Exactly, it's not a fucking religion. Everyone has their own unique experiences, expectations and tastes. There's nothing wrong with stating your "opinions" and having respect for other "opinions". There are some cold hard facts though when it comes down to safety, but that's different than things like style, wicking, etc.

Yup. I mean outside of battery safety and mod output accuracy the rest is just opinions. And opinions are like ... I'm sure u know the rest lmao
