What power do you vape at?

LaughingWarrior

Or, at what wattage or power level do you vape (if you prefer proper grammar)?

What type of coils do you use, and how hard do you run them? For example, I have a few tank/coil combinations that I use daily:

Aspire Triton II, with 0.3Ω SS coils. I use these in TC mode between 350°F and 450°F depending on the juice I'm vaping, or Wattage mode at about 45 watts.

TFV8 Beast, with T8V8 0.15Ω coils at about 110 watts, T8Q4 0.15Ω coils at about 95 watts, and dual fused clapton coils on the RBA deck at around 0.285Ω at about 60-65 watts.

TFV8 Baby Beast, with Baby V8 0.15Ω coils at about 65 watts.

How 'bout you? Watt's your power level? (Forgive the pun, would'ya?)

As I'm reading this, .17Ω dual fused claptons on a 2/3's full battery on a mechanical tube with an RDA on top. Doing the math, it's well over 100 watts, but you have to consider, I'm using 3mg nic, it's smooth and not throaty at any means. Regulated, I'm everywhere, my window is usually in the 50-80 watt range for both battery life and flavor. TC; have it but never use it. I use mechanicals and RDAs 90% of the time, the other 10%, regulated and use it with tanks when I'm feeling lazy.

Always in Volkswagen mode, ehh... VW mode. The Troll RDA 2 (25mm version) with staple staggered fused claptons dualed to .11Ω at 138 watts, and a Goon RDA with a single big .5Ω alien coil at 68 watts... using 3mg nic with high VG, smooth and very little throat hit.

Depends on what room I'm in..

Bathroom or Office 65 watts on a dripper or rdta... .25 buid

Living room, kitchen and outdoors 40w on a rdta.. .35 build

Bedroom 25w... .6 build

I also have a more stealthy setup with a .8 build at around 17 watts...

I may have too many vapes...

Try to aim ohms about .4 to .45 and mostly vape at 42.5 watts. Do same whether single or duel coils. CHEERS!

Varies widely depending on the coil I'm using and resistence it lands on when I've built it and the material I use in the build

Single coils tend to vape about 38-45w

Dual coils fused tend to vape about 75-85w
Dual coils normal clapton about 45-55w

So the only static VW I use is on the TFV8 T8 coils run that between 105 and 115 depending on juice I'm vaping

Alien with Baby Beast Combo. Q2 .4 ohm coils and the v8 .15 ohm coils at 62.5-65 watts each. I can go up a little more on wattage when its cold out but generally prefer 62.5 watts.

Baby beast X4 coil 0.17 - 55w; haven't tried anything else with this tank yet
Dual parallel build in my sapor rda 0.30 - anywhere from 80-100w depending on how I feel. 100w+ only when I'm feeling risqué
Augvape merlin and Griffin RTA 0.5 - 30-35w; although I should be able to go higher on the griffin, but I think it has to do with my poor wicking abilities on rtas

All these new mods coming out boasting 4 batteries and 300w. I've never personally seen someone comfortably vape at anything higher than 120w+ for long periods of time. Maybe I'm sheltered. A buddy at work has an ipv4 and a tfv8. @ 120w, it's too hot for me to enjoy after the first "pull" or two.

I vape at less than 30 watts... usually in the 15 - 20 watt range.
Current build 3x30ss twisted @ .4ohm on 2.8mm on Avo22

I run an rda dual fused Clapton at .08 Ω on 100w ramp in VW around 380 to 440 (depending on juice). My pub rig is a rta .15 Ω 70w to 90w(depends on juice). With 3mg juice they are flavorful, warm, and smooth.

Depends on what kind of coil I felt like building at the time, but for the most part I keep it kind of low. Right now on my Therion 75 I have my Wotofo Serpent RDTA with a SS316L 24ga coil in it that uses less than 20w. On my Ohm-Wrecker G2 I have my Cthulhu Gaia running at about 40w with a dual SS coil setup. As a rule of thumb, for my normal every day vape I try to keep a build that uses less than half the capacity of whatever mod I'm using. I kinda like a long battery life.

I'm a lightweight as well. I vape at .75 ohms at 18-20 watts with 16 mg homemade menthol juice. Even chain vaping, I only burn 6-8 ml a day most days.

It's hilarious, all these people vaping at 20-35 watts, who think they're "lightweights".... I vape at less than 10w, and tj said his is equiivalent to 7-8 watts. THAT is "lightweight"... though it's perfectly satisfying to those who know how.

What's funny, (Whiskey will remember this) years ago ECF did a survey of desired power levels, and the overwhelming majority vaped at ~8 watts.

I do not even enter contests for the high wattage stuff.

Might get a Serpent Alto....
Or their RDTA.... Not sure if I want an RDTA though....
About the only 2 things I am interested in right now.

FWIW the Serpent RDTA isn't bad. I got one and I like it a lot. If you put an efficient build on it the capacity isn't as small as it seems.

I remember back when I got into "improving my vape" using a an old school Kanger Evod set up...I found a wattage/Power graph showing what ohm coil equaled what wattage based on voltage used...I went from the 2.4 coil down to the 1.8 ohm coil and though it was the shiznit...Moved on to drilling out the little pin on the kanger tank and first started my own coil building using 30g wire to build my own coils to 1.00 ohm and was chuckin' the clouds...I think I did a modification thread on here someplace on the kanger evod tank...I still like that little tank for some odd reasono_O

Found thread Lol

You're a man after Cromwell's heart... he was into drilling out the airholes on T3S clearos. :D Me, I plugged 'em with toothpicks and broke them off, to make the lil bastards TIGHTER. :giggle: Only problem was, that made the stupid things flood. Good thing I discovered Kayfuns right around then. :D

I don't think I had a tank I didn't try to modify in some manner for air flow..I still have kayfuns and Orchids and taifuns with all my handy work done to them...I finally found out how the orchids were so versatile and ended up building hybrid tanks from them..My finest attempt was a silver play base with a kayfun V4 chamber with an orchid top cap and glass..Still have this tank today..I may pull it out and re visit it for fun.

I *still* want a really tight draw. In the process now of buying that authentic KFL+ that's for sale; if I can't use it myself, my son will, when I switch him over to vaping. :) Until I discovered the Achilles, the KFL+ was by far my favorite vape.

I've modified both my Magmas, and my Achilles II, to make the draw tighter; by inserting 13ga needles in the deck airholes in the Magma, and cutting them down with a Dremel; the Achilles II's inner airhole is so enormous -- 2.5mm -- it required a 12ga needle.

Around 20 watts most of the time. Simple single wire coils, typically 27 or 28 gauge SS or Kanthal.

Then again, the occasional 40 watt build is nice too

Variety is cool :)

Well, when you read the majority of threads on here most folks talk about all these 200-300 watt mods with dual and triple coil builds, twisted claptons, stapled, ribbon wire, whatever... I'm ashamed to even mention my little istick basic mod with its 2 ml tank. The fact is, however, I love this little unit for its ease of use and convenience, plus, with a 50/50 mix it'll produce a nice cloud comparable to the cigarettes I used to smoke. Anything more than this, I'd just be showing off. I don't know what the actual battery voltage is on the "basic" but assuming it's 3.7v, then it would be around 18 watts and that's plenty for me.

If I had both hands to work with I'm perfectly capable of building coils but physical limitations keep me away from it. I have to be content with pre-made coils that my wife can replace for me. Since my daughter has started vaping and she's into flavors, I would love to have a dripper with a simple single coil setup to use when mixing simply for the ease of testing new flavors without having to swap coils or burn through a tank of juice to see what a recipe is gonna taste like.

The point is that it's somewhat like the title of a Joe Walsh album: "what once were vices now are habits" -- 18-20 watts, in 2014 when I started, was simply NOT POSSIBLE, PERIOD, at least until later in the year when the Sigelei Legend (20w) became available -- and it was OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive. That was MASSIVE wattage. Now it's like most people assume that vaping STARTED at 20w or 50w or some crazy power level. In 2014, the biggest thing to happen to vaping was variable wattage, and you could finally get it in a pen style, rather than having to use variable voltage -- the Innokin iTaste vv3... which offered a whopping 11w.

And hell, that was amazing innovation compared to those who started in 2009-ish; they were somehow using teabags to make cartos, or something like that; I never got the full details, and was glad not to need them! :D

Those who are using all this fancy-schmancy coilage and outrageous wattage... that's the bleeding edge, not the heart of the tech. A whole lot of us make plain old single-wire kanthal single coils... or, buy them, as you do -- not everyone has the time or inclination to "tinker" -- but tinkering used to be REQUIRED, if you wanted any kind of decent vape.

It reminds me of the early 90s, when I was involved in amateur BBSs... there was a guy in the local ATL BBS scene who possessed a WHOLE GIGABYTE harddrive.... which cost him more than a grand. He was a god to us with our 80 or 100 megabyte hard drives. :D Now you can get 128GB of storage on something the size of a fingernail.

Yeah, I like mine so well, I bought 2 more of them a few days ago when Kidney Puncher had 'em for $10 each. I can vape all day on one charge of the battery. I haven't really tried to run the battery down to see how long it will last before needing a charge.

I still want a Pico with an rda for mixing purposes though. I'very heard so many good things about the Pico, I think it'll be good to have. I just need to find a good rda that will be easy to drop in a single coil and rewick when I want to change flavors. The CSMNT clone looks really promising from what I'very seen so far.

What it really amounts to is we each learned to vape with the stuff that was available when we learned to vape.
A lot of the stuff I use isn't even available anymore, so it would kinda silly to expect new vapors to bother learning how o use the stuff.

But if the day ever comes that you either make it yourself or do without .................................
This little dude cost $2.20 to make, and it's a pretty good vape.

I've had a Pico for about a month now. Bought it because of the small size and light weight to have in my pocket at work. It's been really good for that, it performs very well to boot and it's hard to beat the price.

Guess that's another vote for it :)

If you're not vaping at 200+ Watts, you're a light weight and doing it all wrong, brah.

But seriously, 0.40 ohms @ 50 Watts is plentiful for me.
