Welcome to VU
Chevyrider619 if I haven't already said it.
Some very good "beginner" learning videos (at least what I learned on and what I feel are damn good videos), are done by Squidoode and M. Terk. There are many others out there as well that are just as good or "near" as good, including some from Grimm Green and ... ... ... hate to say it, but Rip Trippers (
turn down the volume if his voice sounds like a screeching cat during the main introductions, etc.).

Pay
very close attention to the details, like how they hold the spool of wire while doing a clapton coil, how they hold their hands while wrapping free hand, etc. These little, very overlooked details are a game changer and they don't always explain that.
Also, if you don't already have them, get some
BALL BEARING Swivels -- BALL BEARING -- BALL BEARING --
Obviously this is very important, otherwise I wouldn't repeat it. If you don't have the correct and good swivels, you will just not make a good Clapton coil. Period.
Use and Learn Steam-Engine.com >> This simple website will allow you to "pre-build" coils and make sure that you are within specs of your MOD before you ever wrap your first wire.
I also put together a thread specifically for Wire Sources and Quality. This should help guide you in where and what to purchase for wire.

And just to say it if it hasn't already been said -- ALWAYS use good, authentic, and recommended batteries. Mooch is what we call the "battery god" as he invests his time and money into testing A LOT of the batteries that are on the market for our vaping hardware and has proven what is good and bad.

And last but not least -- Have FUN and LEARN! Building coils for me has become quite a hobby and I am having fun doing it and learning it. I'm still a beginner compared to some of our advanced builders, but I'm am enjoying myself while doing it.
Some good starting out videos...
