What persentage verses yours Fa. For almond torte

I don't use that TFA flavor, so I can't say for sure. I would recommend using the same amount. You can always add more later if it's not enough, but it's a minor ingredient, so a little variation shouldn't wreck it.

Friend is looking for a Peach Cobbler and found this:) I have everything but Brandy, I have Jamaican Rum, would that work or should I skip Brandy all together. Cant wait to try this!

I don't consider Rum and Brandy at all interchangeable. If you leave it out, maybe increase some other flavor to compensate, or increase all by 50%. But it's better if you use the Brandy.

I omit for now and order some Brandy next time I order. Thanks again! I will post my thoughts after a few weeks of steeping.:)

if exchanging .5% of fa brandy for LA brandy how much would be appropriate?

I haven't used Lorann's Brandy flavor. FA's is pretty darned strong, especially when it's fresh. I'm sure 0.5% of Lorann's is not too much, so if nobody pops in with a better answer, just start there & add more if you want it boozier.

HIC's Pear-Apple Frangipane recipe: fruit almond torte for pear fans; very tasty crust flavor here!

1.5% FlavourArt Pear
1% FlavourArt Apple Pie
1% FlavourArt Almond
0.5% FlavourArt Cookie
0.5% FlavourArt Apricot
0.5% FlavourArt Catalan Cream (can use Vienna Cream plus extra Cinnamon, but Catalan's better here)
0.5% FlavourArt Brandy
0.5% FlavourArt Cinnamon Ceylon

This totals 6% total flavoring and is boldly-flavored; it's light and still tasty at half-strength.
TFA's Quince would be interesting to try in place of Pear, if you aren't in the mood for pear.

Some people prefer this fresh; others like it creamier after it sits a day or two. I suggest trying some right away and trying to leave some leftovers for later.
Damn, I'm glad someone brought this thread to the top, I have all the components, which is nothing short of a miracle......Thanks again, @HeadInClouds

This is my first time commenting ever on VU, and I am just blown away with HIC's recipe's! I've been using them for months now, and there hasn't been a single recipe that let me down, so hat's off! I'm very happy with them. I have a question, I was wondering if there was a substitute for the apricot. I have everything but that.

I was wondering if there was a substitute for the apricot. I have everything but that.

How about FA Peach - plain Peach, not White. I used Apricot here because I like it so much with Brandy, but Peach is pretty similar.

P.S. Welcome to VU!

I agree, though I must say I don't like all the flavor profiles. But the ones I like are fantastic. In my opinion, the fact that most are ready to vape in a day or two just raises them a few levels as well.

PS, give Joy 7-10 days.

Thanks! Great to be here, this is where I come to learn DIY, and has been very handy. Every time I make something and share it with friends, they are just blown away. All from tips I've learned here.

BTW, I've had the best remarks from your PB recipe. But I've added .5% FA honey to it, remarkable! I've played around with other flavors like adding banana (you know, like a banana with PB on it), but it's kinda hard to get a distinct banana flavor in this recipe. Any suggestions?

Anyway, I have White Peach, the other FA Peach is on its way. That might actually work, but at like .25%? And why wouldn't White Peach work? Because of its complexity and strength?

I just got Joy in a few days ago! I got so much going on in my flavor box haha! But I forgot why I got it. Maybe I got it for a stand alone? IDFK LOL

Go to HIC's website. Under the free section there is a PDF in which he gives detailed explanations of the FA Flavours. Also, if you were to buy some of his recipes, he provides even more information as to how the flavors interact and effect each other. It's invaluable information that will allow you to understand how it all works. Just last week I finally nailed a Cinnamon Bun recipe I've been working on for months. It was because I finally understood what the flavors were adding to the recipe.

Yeah, I was looking at it, and it talks about the complexity of White Peach, but that can mean a lot of things really. I think it's because FA Peach isn't as intense, therefore blends together better rather than overpowering the other flavors. But asking would confirm my thinking, instead of guessing and wasting a lot through experimenting.

I look at it this way, it's similar to fixing a car right the first time. If I can fix it right the first time, rather than crossing my fingers and hoping for the best on a crappy repair, I become more efficient lol

No, I'll use anything, I don't discriminate. But I do like FA very much. However, there are some flavors that just can't be beat such as Capella's Vanilla Custard or Inawera Biscuit.

It's not really the strength, but White Peach just stands out more in recipes, and it doesn't taste as "ripe" as plain Peach. Since it doesn't taste as ripe, it's not as convincing for a baked fruit flavor.

There are tons of recipes that use it. I once made the mistake of putting in 8% of it. Didn't know until I vaped it. I still grimace when I think about it.

Oh yeah? Sounds similar to the mistake I made putting 2 drops of FA Condensed Milk into my tank of HIC's Peanut Butter. Talk about a flavor that never disappears! Man, I tasted that for hrs and smelled it in my room for 3 days. It has got to be the worst flavor ever. I seen HIC say that it's "a tough flavor"? What an understatement, it's just flat out ugh! The thought of it to this day makes me sick.

Anyway, tell me a couple of good names of recipe's that use Biscuit. I'll find the recipe somewhere.

I've always thought Squonk does a fine job naming recipes.

Especially those that contain INW Biscuit.

I'll find the recipe somewhere.

It's a snap. Type... cookie ... in the Search box on this page. Look for Squonk in the results.

1% INW Shisha Vanilla (or sub with another brand vanilla)

But I only have FA Strawberry, TFA Ripe, and Cap Sweet

Kinda normal for DIY to be always missing some flavors:(.

But you could try using 4% TFA Ripe + 4% CAP Sweet
Or 3-4% FA Strawberry
If you don't have the Shisha Vanilla just use 1-2% of another brand Vanilla

Adding 1% INW Biscuit to most any fruit recipe adds something unique IMO.
2-3% FA Cookie is a close second choice...

You just reminded me, and I mixed 4% TFA Ripe, and FA Vanilla Tahiti. Vaped, and lovin it!

I gotta tell you, I made the most amazing Unicorn Milk!
I haven't been able to put it down! It's definitely the best juice I've ever vaped! And it's my own too (well, for the most part) I owe it to HIC for the Home Vape Cheesecake Base for the idea. But I made up my own Graham Cracker Crust Base, similar to how you make the Cheesecake Base. I think I made a winner.

But now that I tried your Strawberry Biscuit, I can take a moment to let the Unicorn Milk steep a few more days lol

I'd like to, and I really hope you would enjoy as much as me. I just can not put it down. That creamy, cookie goodness in it is just amazing! I love exhaling it fast, there's another note in it that tastes like I just swallowed milk.

Anyway, I would prolly need HIC's permission on the HV Cheesecake. That is one of the ingredients in it.

I should prolly start another thread with the HV Graham Cracker Crust recipe, and then another with the Unicorn Milk maybe? I'm a lil new to this. But here's the recipe none the less:

2.0ml Cookie - Flavorart
1.5ml Marzipan - Flavorart
.75ml Acetyl Pyrazine - TFA
.5ml Walnut - Flavorart
.25ml Butter - TFA
.5ml Nut Mix - Flavorart
.5ml Maple Syrup - Flavorart

This is a Graham Cracker Crust Base recipe. So mix this up just the way it is, and use it like any other flavor concentrate as a graham cracker crust (only) recipe. I personally wouldn't use this at more than 3% in any juice. But if you do, and it works for you, I would be really happy to hear from you.

Who knows, maybe its good by itself, I'll give it a try this weekend

I would put this in a new thread so it can be found easier. Then in your note mention that it works well with HICs cheesecake with a link to his thread. Then create a separate thread for your take on Unicorn Milk. Thanks for your share and welcome to VU!

Looks like it may be a good one "as is".

I'd agree on starting a new thread for each of your recipes:D.
I will take the advice on the thread. I hope people view it. DIY is awesome!

I really enjoyed HIC's notes on FA flavors, those are really helpful, and open to the public! I think if anyone does DIY, we should share info with everyone. And this is a great forum for it

Hey, I quoted you in my own Graham Cracker Crust" recipe, and tagged you and a few others in this thread. I hope I didn't break any rules. I loved your HV Cheesecake recipe so much, I had to make a crust for it. So I started a crust thread. Hope you like. Thanks for all you do.

BTW, how does one buy your recipes? Bobnat made mention of that

That's exactly what Homevape Cheesecake is for, so of course that's great. I'm glad you've been so creative, making a crust to go with it!

My recipes store is http://www.hicsmixes.com/ and my VU vendor thread is http://vapingunderground.com/threads/hics-mixes-diy-recipes-store.54921/. Anything store-related I'm supposed to direct over there. ;)

Yeah man, but not only that, I'm gonna make my own Mother's Unicorn Milk clone that is known to have 20% and almost always more % of flavors. But using mostly FA, I can make an even better clone, with much less concentrate.

I think because of the nature of this blend, it's going to have a lot of concentrated flavoring. Most of them have 25 - 26%, mine should have 10 to 14%. Way less, and way better. But is still very high. I just love the way your HV Cheesecake recipe blends with Sweet and Bavarian Creams. TASTES LIKE STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE ICE CREAM!

HV Cheesecake
My Graham Cracker Crust
Strawberry FA
Bavarian Cream
Sweet Cream
Madagascar Vanilla

And for more creamy ICE Cream taste, Capella Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

Percentages are being experimented now, but is looking like 13%. That is a lot, but is so good

Damn, i don't have almond, my pear is INW, I only have FW sugar cookie & CAP Sugar Cookie V2, I have so many liquor flavors EXCEPT brandy (and I read your reply to a question regarding a sub for brandy) and I'm not big into cinnamon, so I don't have ceylon. Would this taste right with these?

HIC's Pear-Apple Frangipane recipe: fruit almond torte for pear fans; very tasty crust flavor here!

1.5% FlavourArt Pear
1% FlavourArt Apple Pie
1% FlavourArt Almond
0.5% FlavourArt Cookie
0.5% FlavourArt Apricot
0.5% FlavourArt Catalan Cream (can use Vienna Cream plus extra Cinnamon, but Catalan's better here)
0.5% FlavourArt Brandy
0.5% FlavourArt Cinnamon Ceylon

TFA's Quince would be interesting to try in place of Pear, if you aren't in the mood for pear.

Some people prefer this fresh; others like it creamier after it sits a day or two. I suggest trying some right away and trying to leave some leftovers for later.
I meant to quote on my last post but forgot. I do have quince. I liked it in my 1st recipe I tried it in, although, I probably couldn't pick it out from the mix lol

I had bookmarked this page a couple of years ago, but never got around to mixing this until last week. It's now one of my favorite mixes ever, and I can see myself vaping it for years to come. I bump it up by 50%. Thanks again @HeadInClouds.

I hope all is well with him, but I won't lie, I'm getting a little worried. He hasn't posted for close to a year now, and his website is down too.

That's not a good sign. His Teddy Bear Custard is one of my all time ADVs.

He posted tons of recipes here and elsewhere, but also had quite a few on his site. My HIC folder at ELR has 48 recipes. Lot's of folks are going to miss out on those. I hope all is well with him.

The last time I heard from him was late last year.....we(the Challenge Team) were asking him to judge a challenge or something(I can’t remember). So, yeah, about a year ago. The website being down is concerning......

Last week a friend of mine tried what I was vaping (HIC's Italian Lemon Cream Soda), and really liked it. Asked me what it is and where I bought it. I explained the whole DIY thing to her, and told her about HIC's site. I offered to make some for her. She accepted, thanked me, and thought the least she could do was actually purchase the recipe. That's how I found his site is down.

Has anyone heard from him at all? Didn't he used to be in business with someone else here before he started his own site. Sorry, I don't remember who. Has that person heard from him, or can get in touch with him?

I like the Teddy Bear Custard too, but there are other recipes of his that I like better. I don't generally like custards, probably because most are made with the Capella one everyone loves, but I'm unable to vape. There must be some molecule there that I just find offensive. Anyway, I tried the TBC because it was made from some new custard (at the time), and I liked it, but every once in a while. Custards just aren't my thing, i suppose. :)

Yes, he has so many recipes that are very good. I can't use Cap custard either, the FA Premium is fantastic though. He's been a wonderful resource to the vaping community, we who are here should try to keep his contributions going by directing new people to his posts.
