Problems with finding a suitable RTA/RDTA

Ok now I've been trying to find a tank that I actually enjoy vaping on for quite awhile now and everyone I buy I despise so far. It seems like I'm just wasting my money on these things.

I know a tank will suit my lifestyle more since it's always on the go and dripping ever 4-5 pulls is a pain cause usually I'll chain vape one RDA dry till I put it down for awhile.

I've tried the:
Avocado 24 (mouth piece gets too hot)
Griffin 25P (flavor/never wicked fast enough)
Cloudnus (always tasted like im burning metal when I'm running SS coils and temp control)
Mage GTA just recently (doesn't seem to wick fast enough to get any good flavor out of it)

Honestly I like my Aspire Atlantis V2 better than all my RTA'S I've bought with a 0.3 coil in it but I don't want to buy coils and prefer to build them. Making my own aliens and such. Plus I prefer running SS316L and temp control.

Now I've picked up a Hohm Wrecker G2 in the past few weeks and fell in love with with it since I've got it and could run TC on the prebuilt coils I've got in the Atlantis V2. Still I'd prefer to have my SS316L built by myself.

IDK I'm just tired of buying all these tanks and ending up being disappointed everytime. I'm looking for recommendations from the community vs someone who's wanting to get a sale from me. Only thing atm I use is my goon 24mm since I enjoy it.

If you liked the avocado and the only problem is that it gets too hot from chain gaping, try the ijoy limitless.
Genny style atties deliver flavour as good as that of a dripper,. The limitless has a huge post deck and you can run it both single and double coiled

Or maybe squonking would suit you best...

I put a Derlin drip tip on my Avocado and didn't look back...... I do like the vape from the CoilART Azeroth better but nothing wrong with the Avocado but the DTip.

I've thought about getting a squonker for when out of the house. Just really haven't figured out which one I should aim for since I run TC only.

I've also thought about buying a second Wrecker G2 and pulling the the internals out of it and making my own squonker.

My top 5

The top 3 are really great choices. the EXO RTA, Augvape Boreas, Aromamizer Supreme
If you want an RDTA style the Geekvape medusa is amazing.

I wanted to throw my griffin out until recently because I kept needing to "prime" it. Watched this video and it worked! Running dual parallel coils measuring out to .2. Running consistently at 50w with only but a rare dry hit and that's only when I'm chain vaping for 10 mins+.

All a mater off what you are looking for.... I have been using my Azeroth and not looking back.... the Boreas is good just takes time to deal with that I don't have to do with the Azertoth. I don't need the latest and greatest they seem to just be re inventing the wheel to me I'll stick with the OBS engine and Azeroth and catch the others on clearance;)

Azeroth is really good. It was my favorite rdta for a while. It's still in my top 5 for sure. And I'm always a sucker for a good sale ;) so nothing wrong with that logic. The engine I never understood personally it's decent IMO but many love it. Oh well different strokes :)

I use 2-22mm griffins, a griffin 25 mini and 2 limitless plus all day with either a 316L SS 0.6 clapton dual coil or 0.35ish fused clapton dual coil setup at around 50watts with max vg and never get a dry hit unless the tank is empty
wicking is nothing special. thick enough to fill the coil, tuck the ends in the juice ports on the griffins and push it into the tank a bit on the limitless. I dont fluff the ends or any of the things people say is necessary just cut slide it through cut again and tuck in the ends. Now you may be running higher watts which may make a difference but I love al the tanks, the mini drives me crazy since its a bigger diameter then the griffin 22 but I can fit bigger coils in the 22

Damn taking the Troll RTA off my list now heard this on more than a few occasions now, how's the peerless mate?

Back to the OP

Boreas RTA is a great alrounder although you will get leaking if you don't fill in the proper way and wick it well using 3mm coils or more...if you do it wrong it will piss everywhere so steep learning curve on that front ;) but you will never get a dry hit thats for damn sure! It a workhorse....Might want to consider the Aromamizer Supreme instead although I am an augvape fan hence why I chose the boreas ;)

TFV8 Tank is a very good all rounder can't go far wrong with this one although I'm not a fan of the RBA deck the pre made TF-T8 coils are great refilling is awesome although drinks juice like a gooden

Uwell crown V1 is probably one of the best flavour tanks don't expect huge clouds and you will need to stick to the premade coils which can be dodgy I've heard although never experienced a problem with them (apparently the RBA is tiny with restricted airflow over the stock coils)

Pindad is an epic RDTA for flavour and vape experience combine with a squonk mod for sheer awesomeness my favourite atty so far gonna take some beating to knock this off my top spot

Gaia another pindad type tank with more airflow options again squonkable RDTA great balance of flavours and clouds, not a fan of the build deck though and you will want to run at least claptons or fused claptons in it to get the most from it

White bone Mini ...awesome single coil atty absolutely fantastic flavour from it

My shortlist of stuff I'm looking at as well

Skill RDA
Peerless RDA
Icon RDA
Druga RDA
(All squonkable)

And the Augvape RDTA is gonna get bought whatever happens

The Mage I rewicked and it's working a lot better. Flavor isn't that great but seems to be better than most tanks I've used besides the Avocado. Have a 0.18 S316L 3.5mm Alien in it.

Hasn't leaked yet using less wick than I did the first time but everytime I pick it up I'm scared it's going to with how bad it gurgles when I'm taking pulls off it. But been 3 days since I've rewicked it and nothing yet and it's even sat for a day without use this weekend while I dripped.

Griffin I've tried simple staples along with aliens and never been happy with.

Cloudnus I've just used 2.5mm and 3mm claptons and staples. Always tastes like the chamber in it is burning off something.

Only run SS316L for coils now a days. There's a vape expo this coming weekend I'm going to in Edmonton so I'm going to talk to a bunch of different people and see what there is to offer at it.

Been vaping the shit out of the Troll with no issues. I have a 0.16 buid in flavor is excellent.

Yeah I know that might put a lot of people off I've had tank cracking juice in it no probs no discolouration or anything an since it doesn't surround the coil it doesn't get exposed to the heat

...apparently Deuces said they are working on the plus which will have a glass tank

Yup I'll take pics when I rebuild it. Overall not to impressed. All the gta style have issues IMO. Just don't work well for my vape preference. The kumo is much better except it vaporlocks like a bitch. Haven't found a great gta style rta yet, just a few decent ones with some big cons. Also quite a few people have complained about it. They started adding extra insulators in the box now. They still haven't responded to me though about mine

Different strokes I guess. I'm not impressed with it though. Doesn't dissipate heat very well, melted insulator, and tip options. Also quality could be better. I can hear it screeching when I screw on the top. I'm also using the Fuji. Closest to a good one, but doesn't have enough air to keep up with big builds. Really good 70 or less but over 70 gets iffy. The kumo overall is best flavor and can handle the wattage and best build deck but it doesn't wick good and keeps vapor locking.

Mad Dog is an outstanding RDA, I just wish they had a polished or brushed version. With the colors the Black is the only one appealing to me (got 3 of them). It's a good match especially with it's bottom ultem heat shield on Mod's with a direct battery connection.

Rocking one on my Authentic Elite cause I've got excellent builds in my Fuel's I don't want to pull out. It Vapes wonderfully.

Sounds like you got a bad one, I only tried it after hearing a lot of ravings about it. Machining on mine is about the best I've seen from Chinese gear. Threading and everything is smooth.

I'm kind of curious though, what color is it, black or SS?

Another worthy RDA to consider is the Vgod, love the RTDA so much I got the RDA. It's not a let down at all. Excellent machining and performs very well with excellent flavor.

I got the black one. I have some Chinese stuff that is much much smoother. Pretty much anything geekvape, digiflavor, the ijoy exo, supreme, etc all much better quality. Troll is even lower then expected for a 30 dollar China atty. And the insulator placement is as bad as expected. They ship with replacements now because all the complaints they got about it. But you can't fix a poor design with extra replacement parts. To me it feels like another engine. As in an hyped up product that doesn't perform nearly as good as the hype, but then again we're all entitled to our own opinions and I'm sure many still love it. Hence why I got one cause all the people who were praising it

Yep, that's it, I fucking knew it!

Wotofo seems to have major issues with their Black versions. Example I have two SS Conqueror RTA's, excellent build quality. I ordered a black and it was a piece of shit. Fucked up threading and could only put one build in then the deck was completely unusable. Was a well known issue on the Conqueror and the Serpent that the Black version was shit.

I agree on the limitless plus for sure. But the tsunami 24 is amazing. Maybe the 22 isn't as good IDK but the 24 is still one of my favorites. Plenty of air and room for big builds. I have mine on the gbox s100 for my squonk set up. Only con with the 24 is the drip tip can get really hot.

Yeah they need to address the QC, but to be honest they are a Chinese company. Kinda like Joytech issues that they have yet to fix.

Rule of thumb with Wotofo, only buy the SS version.

I've got 2 of the 24mm Tsunami's cause I bought into the hype. Not a bad rda, just isn't the “amazing“ that it's all hyped out to be. My 2 have been sitting in the FDA Apocalypse stash for months.

Yeah they need to address the QC, but to be honest they are a Chinese company. Kinda like Joytech issues that they have yet to fix.

Rule of thumb with Wotofo, only buy the SS version.

I'll remember that for the next one. But a few Chinese companies have done pretty good in the quality department IMO much more so then wotofo. I only have 2 of their attys but they are 0-2 so far in my book.

I have a few i need to try for sure a couple I got off your recommendations as well, but so far for me outside of the pharaoh nothing really blew the tsunami out of my rotation. The eco is really good as well, I have a review for that coming soon. Also gonna start working on the peerless and mad dog reviews as well. Also the csmnt clone windwalker and yuri. Gonna be very rda heavy for me the next few weeks for sure
