@KadlyDoWrong Just now I had J A K of trump, another ace, and a king. If I had gone alone I would have made it.
Sure, sometimes it will work out with a hand like that. But I guess what I am saying is if it doesn't, you only get one point. If you let your partner help you, you may get two. So by going alone without a sure hand you risk costing yourself a point. That hand was very likely to lose a trick. Of course who gets to lead can make a difference, but no matter who was leading that hand was unlikely to take 5, you just got lucky.

I was scrolling through the posts and saw the word Bower... Wait a minute, I am very familiar with that term!

I didn't think anyone played Euchre anymore, I haven't played in years. You mention Euchre down here in Nova Scotia and you get the funny looks, "must be some kind of Ontario game"... :giggle:

They play this bastardized thing down here called Forty-Fives and something called Tarbish on Cape Breton Island.
Hey TD! Great to see you!!!! I had never heard of Euchre before either.

lol I was kinda the opposite. He kowtowed, never shared his opinion even when I asked for it. That along with many other things caused me to lose respect. a lot of women want someone they can run over but that isn't me. Don't tell me I can't do it, cuz I will even if I don't want to just to show you I can. But I want a partner, not someone who won't even speak their mind

lmao! Good thing they didn't own a chihuahua! that woulda been a mighty small crate!
Even that crate will probably be too small when that dog is full grown. They'll be spending as much to feed the dog as they will to feed themselves. Don't think they thought that through when they decided to get a Great Dane.

I hear that. Truth be told, it was my unwillingness to change my thoughts and beliefs on religion that led to our split. I lost respect for her in many many ways as time went on, she never wanted a partner, she wanted to have control and the final say in all aspects of our relationship and our daughters life. Very unhealthy and I have no need for that.

Which made me realize, he has frequently been on the right side of a frying pan, and a wide variety of other cooking utensils. He has paid more for a single knife than many people do for an entire set, and they have a good stand mixer because he wanted it, not because she did.

I've frequently joked that the only reason I said yes when he asked me for her hand was because I was getting some awesome bread pudding outta the deal.:D

Jup total control from either one is never a good thing. Some men seem to want that, never understood why

That can be said about just about all of my knives, the only exception is my turning knife and my bread knife. Both are quality but with turning knives and bread knives they can often be cheaper and easier to replace than to sharpen them.

That one looks like a mischief maker.
JUP! That's Ozzy and he's full on puppy!! Frankie is 4 and at first wanted nothing to do with Ozzy, but now he's realizing that havin a little brother can be fun sometimes. Then sometimes he's had enough and scratches to be let into one of the bedrooms or takes refuge on the couch. He's likely gonna do a double backflip off the couch first time Ozzy jumps up after him and actually makes it! :teehee: He really is a good puppy, but he sure keeps ya on yur toes.

When I had a great dane I spent more money on her food than I did my horse. No kidding......
