Noob needing help Cuboid Mini settings.

Hey guys I'm very new to this. I really want to quit smoking cigarettes and this is my chance. I bought a Joyetech Cuboid Mini but I'm having problems. I don't know a lot of the terms so please bear with me. My first problem was spitting but thankfully I found a post on here and figured it out. Looks like I need to be at 35/40 watts, problem solved. My real issue now is getting that big cloud of smoke. I pull from the lungs but the only way I found to get the cloud I want is by using the MTL piece. I know I'm missing something but I'm too new to figure it out. My current settings are 7.17V, Coil 1.47Ohms and Amp reads 0. If anyone could please help me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance and sorry for such a long post.

I'm assuming you're using the 1.5 coil which is only rated up to 20w. You're really not going to chuck clouds with that coil. The best cloud chucking coil for that is the Notch coil which you can run up to 70w.

I'll give it a try. Thank you for the advice. I'm scared I'm gonna f@@k something up if I keep messing with settings I don't understand. I'll give it a try tomorrow and let you know what the results are. Thanks again.

Youtube it. Plenty of tutorials on there. Just put the Notch coil in, prime it, then run it in either power or SS mode. Start off at like 40w and increase it until you find the vape you like. Just remember if you run it in SS mode that's temp control. In that mode wattage controls the ramp up and the temp controls how cool or hot you like your vape. Notch coils ramp up really quickly.

Don't get too hung up on the manufacturers 'recommended wattages' that they print on their coils - they are often highly overstated, because the manufacturers are currently in a kind of 'numbers war' like the old cheap hi-fi wattage wars of the 80's.

It's often best to start at a wattage that's like 50% of the lowest recommended wattage, always prime your coil wick with juice before you fill your tank and start vaping. Start at low power, and then gradually work up to your 'sweet spot'.

Always prime your coils properly before vaping on them.

It's often etched on the coil head itself or the packaging, but if not, you can pretty much work it out from the resistance - what *is* the resistance of the head(s)?

The coil says "SS316L 0.25 Ohm DL 30-70W" if that answers your question. I really have no clue what that all means.

Well - it's a Stainless Steel (316L type) 1/4 Ohm coil head that the manufacturer has rated at 30-70W - personally, I would (after priming the wicks with juice, of course) start vaping it at 20W or so, and then gradually work my way up to whatever I find to be my vaping 'sweet spot'. It can be used in Temperature Control mode, as well (but I'd leave that until you've a bit more experience with it).

Nickel, Titanium and Stainless Steel (SS) can be used in Temperature Control mode - SS can be used in both TC and Power Mode, and Kanthal and Nichrome can only be used in Power Mode *only*.

It's potentially dangerous to try to use Nickel and Titanium wire coils in Power Mode - TC mode *only*.

If it's the 'full kit', as per Joyetech's US website, it comes with:

1 * eVic VTwo Mini Battery (without battery)
1 * CUBIS Pro Atomizer
1 * NotchCoilTM 0.25ohm DL - Stainless Steel (Power/Temp Mode)
1 * BF SS316-0.5ohm DL - Stainless Steel (Power/Temp Mode)
1 * LVC Clapton-1.5ohm - Kanthal (Power Mode Only)
1 * QCS Head - Appears to be for the SS 'Notch' coils (Power/Temp Mode)
1 * Mouthpiece
1 * eVic-VTC Mini Skin
1 * USB Cable
1 * Manual and Warranty Card
1 * Warning Card

Which tank did your kit come with (TRON, Cubis etc), and where did you get it from?

It would appear to be the same kit as in my previous post - see my edit there.

The SS coils can be used in both Power and TC modes, yes, but the Kanthal coil can only be used in Power mode.

Is the recommended wattage on the coil itself or do I need to google it?

The coil might be marked with a wattage suggestion... The CORRECT wattage is the one you like best. I suggest you start at low and work your way up till you get the vape you like. You might like to run a coil at wattages both above or below those marked. Which is OK, because your mod wont fire if you ask it to do something unsafe for the mod.

Hi hope i have put this in the right place please move it if i screwed up.
Ive just begun Vaping ( bye bye ciggies ) in the last two months, started with ciga likes but decided I wanted more so i bought an eVic VTwo which included all the same above stated coils and a cubis pro tank. For no real reason i started using the LVC clapton coil absolutely loved it. but of course after a month it started tasting like crap, ive just been running it at 17w the mod picked up it was an 1.5ohm coil and life was great. However i could tell the coil was starting to fail as cloud was smaller hit wasn't as satisfying. So I fitted the BF ss316 0.5ohm tank. to be quite frank I'm now screwed. at first i tried to put it in SS mode and number 1 it burnt the hell out of my lungs and there was NO cloud whatsoever i just got a hot blast, i assume this is a dry hit ? also the Mod kept shutting down in temp protection. I tried resetting it using the reset button in the hope that might make the mode use its brain and operate properly. that seemed to work till I topped up the tank, cloud wasnt huge but it was there now its not. I have upgraded the firmware to 5.04 because like most people i assumed this would improve its performance, just to be straight I did the upgrade as soon as I got the mod. can someone please please tell me how to set this mongrel out ? ive read somewhere it has a smart mode which I think allows the Mod to figure out what settings it should be on, feel free to correct me. I cant find instructions for using the 5.04 firmware plus i possibly wouldn't understand it. can someone explain this to me or if this is covered elsewhere could someone supply me a link to that post. im in Qld Australia so technically ( read Literally ) I am a criminal for vaping so its not like there is a local shop I can pop into and ask, I have contacted Vapingmad the company i bought it from for help but all i get is voicemail which they are not replying to. PLEASE I don't want to end up on cigarettes, ive given the cheapo cigalikes to my little brother and gotten him off the fags to, I do have an EGO AIO that i bought for a backup, but I want to use my mod as the AIO is juice heavy and for me a little strong.
Thanks Gozzo

When you use the mod in SS mode, that's Temperature Control mode in which you have to set a wattage and a temperature to vape at.

Until you get it all figured out, I would try to use that particular coil in Wattage Mode to keep it simple - SS coils are the only type of coils that can be used in both modes.

I would guess that the settings in Temp Mode were all off, and thus giving you a crappy vape.

Also, make sure that you 'prime' all new coils before vaping on them - screw them in and then saturate the wicks with your juice and only then fill the tank and then it's best to leave it for 5-10 minutes or so to soak in, maybe take a couple of hits without pressing fire to get the juice flowing.

It started tasting terrible after 1 month? LOL - that's an exceptional lifespan for a coil head - a lot of people who rebuild their stuff rewick their coils every day or every other day! :D

Is wattage mode when the display has VW at the top the voltage number in the middle with a W at the bottom ? sorry I'm such a dumbarse. but the instruction manual doesnt seem relevant to the 5.04 update. I am beginning to see why some advised against it. Thanks for your help

Yes - VW is Variable Wattage mode - it just goes more or less power that's it - simple.

Prime your atomiser (if new), fill your tank, let it soak up for 5 mins or so, and then start at a lower Wattage, and then gradually work up until it gives you the vape you enjoy.
