RTA or RDTA

First let me say, I know this is all subjective and everyone will think differently... but on an elementary level would I be happier with an RTA or an RDTA. I'm looking for great performance (flavor and production) as I'm used to RDA's. I'm leaning towards an RTA at the moment. If anyone has a product they swear by then please point me in the right direction.
Thanks

Sounds like you may be happy with an Aromamizer. Here's my take on them.

As far as RDTA’s go for me nothing beats the Pindad but it is small and pricey. The good news is it is squonkable.

I also really enjoy the Smoant Battlestar RTA.

I have all three types and I prefer RDTAs. RTAs are great on the go but I enjoy the flavor and performance better on my RDTAs.

I use the Smok SkyHook and iJoy Classic the most. I also like being able to inspect the cotton and coils like you can with an RDA.

I've been very happy with my IJoy Combo RDTA. 6ml capacity, easy to build, and different decks to choose from. Plus, is has good flavor and vapor production too. Been very happy with this.

Im thinking of buying the combo rdta as well, but does it come with the rda deck itself? or do u have to buy it separately?

Sadly you have to buy it separately, but it does come with thevelocity deck and the spring loaded goon style deck as well. I love this thing and still use it daily in my rotation

The iJoy Classic is an update to the combo. It comes with both the post less and velocity style decks.

I have the Combo and had to buy the RDA deck. As pointed out above, get the Classic, it's the same tank. I use my Combo everyday along with my EXOs.

well it depends on if your single or dual coil, dtl or mtl

most rdtas are not in my opinion great for mtl.

there are are many rtas available designed for single coil which are sometimes better for mtl.

an rdta is going to be more like an rba for you since you can basically use them like an rba when needed and a tank anytime

most rdtas are more simplistic in design versus a rta which will have more parts to it

most rdtas also have side airflow but more bottom airflow rdtas are becoming available
while most rtas are either bottom airflow, top airflow or both so that may make a difference to you

wicking is different between the two. rdta wicking can be tricky trying to balance not using too much cotton but enough so there is no leakage

so there are several factors to consider when choosing between the two

i use both

i am moving towards preferring rdtas because of the ease of access to the coil and cotton plus the simplicity of design (less things to break or go wrong in the long run - adding to the longevity of the rdta)
I only have the limitless plus which is great but has 2 major drawbacks fo rme -
1. side filling - I hate side fill
2. the top cap breaks way to easy and since I am a clutz thats not a good combo

plus i want to try a rdta with bottom airflow to see if that improves the flavor. I have a feeling that for me at least it might so im looking at getting either the perseus, rdta 5 or gaia

The iJoy Classic only has side airflow. I still enjoy using it over the RTAs I have had. The Smok SkyHook has side and bottom airflow and definitely has good flavor. But it eats juice like a v12 eats gas.

I really want to get the the iJoy RDTA 5 myself.

Thanks to all,
I'm gonna head out to my local shop and see what's in stock. Probably going to seek out and purchase an RDTA. The only other question I have about them is dry hits...my friend had the avocado and never once when I hit it did I enjoy because it was dry and performed poorly. Are RDTAs notorious for dry hits, or can you throw coils in, wick and juice em, fill the tank and get to vaping? Or do you need to drip as you would an RDA?

assuming you wick it properly

i wont say I NEVER get a dry hit on my limitless pluses
but 99% of the time I do not. If the juice level is low and the tank has been upright and not tilted to let the juice hit the wicks then the hit will start to be dry but I normally realize it and tilt the tank

Flavor is way better on an rdta but if your frequently changing out tanks like i do you need to make sure its empty or sitting upright or itll definitely leak

very subjective
RDAs aren't as convenient because you constantly have to drip
RTAs generally aren't as flavourful as RDAs, but add the convenience factor.
RDTAs are supposedly better than RTAs and closest to dripping, but some are a pain to wick
The best option in my opinion is squonking. Convenience of a tank (kind of) and the flavour of a dripper

I like the spring loaded clamp deck that comes with the combo tank better. Not a fan of postless. Maybe one day, but not yet.

My first RTA was the Griffin 22mm. That's a very good choice.

i know alot of people say that rdas are best for flavor, aybe I havent used the ones they use.
I have a petri rda and they flavor on it is amazing
many agree that the petri rda is one of the better flavor rdas
but my griffin 22s,griffin 25minis and my limitless plus are all just as flavorful with the same exact build I use in the petri ...so either im weird or its all just subjective

I agree, I am using the included velocity deck not the post less. Would like to eventually get the spring loaded clamp deck as well.

I mainly chose the classic to get the orange color. Decks are interchangeable.
