I finally got a job at smoke city and working with vape gear and helping beginners is pretty kool ;p. New wire and vape gear here I come!
@Dustyjeans nice job at those alien stags bro there looking good. I really want to practice those but I don't have 22g for decore atm, but soon!

Been working on getting enigmas down. Only using the alien wrap and a stitch and when I get it down ill try to interlock it with the stitch. My problem so far is the stretch.. I stretch it more than I would a normal alien (going for single 'hump' duno what tech term for it is) but it starts out with the double ''hump'' and then halfway through it fucks up and turns into the single ''hump''. I've been using 28g frames, 12x .3R, 40g Alien & stitch. Decored on 28g.
Just got around to using some quad aliens I made a while back, very tasty!

He's talking about floating. Doesn't matter if you do it his way or mine but here you go.

For a SSFC you just make a 20" stick of spaced clapton, glue both ends and the middle then cut it all apart. When you cut the middle don't flip either piece just bring them beside each other.
Ray doesn't glue the gap like I do he just twists both ends together and pulls it tight then spreads the frames to put ribbon in.
I glue both ends with a gap in the frames then bind both ends together. You can add ribbon whenever you like and use ribbon sliders or anything really to hold it in. I usually don't recommend gluing the ribbon on both ends because you screw yourself if you need to fix something. If you want to glue both ends try to do it when there's some slack in everything so it doesn't spread apart when you let tension off of it later on.

I laid the decore over the cores Th3T and measured so it was just under 4 as I like to have a little tension for it

Thanks whiteowl with regards to the ribbon are you still folding it though? I remember a few pages back you talked about folding the ribbon and running the frames around it? Or do you only do that for framed staples?

Bit like the below I mean obviously neater though lol

IMG_1071.JPG

Is this floating technique relevant only to SSFC?

No you can do framed anything like this. I've posted how I do Staggs too.
It doesn't matter if you stack or fold the ribbon. I prefer to stack it because 16ply makes a big bulge where you fold it.

Better if you watched my livestreams...I may try a youtube livestream so it saves for those that cant watch the instagram streams

That would be awesome mate I don't have instagram or Facebook but would love to see how you approach your builds!

You don't need instagram to watch live streams or see profiles. If you're building you should probably get an account there anyway. 0.0001% of builders are here. The rest are on IG

Just got the Ohmega Beast Tank and a bunch of cheap premade coils. I unraveled 2 tiger coils and rewrapped them parallel 5wraps each 10 total around 4mm ID. Repeat for other side of deck. Ohms out at 0.17.

This was my first attempt at parallel coils. Also my first 30mm tank. I had trouble making the second side as clean as the first, and I may tinker with it, but I think it looks pretty good.

The build was wicking poorly, so to open up more room, I removed a wrap from each coil. So now it's 4 tiger coils, 2 parallel on each side, 4 wraps each. Before the alteration, it was reading at 0.17 ohms. I was worried that the resistance would drop too much, but it only went down to 0.15. The Beast's deck has 2 single terminal posts; it was tricky getting the lead length right and getting all four leads through each terminal. It's running way better now. 110 watts with a short preheat at 140. I might ditch the preheat to conserve battery, given that I'm running it on a dual battery mod.

Unfortunately, I forgot to take pics after the adjustment, but here's a pic of the setup all put together.

Im in the same boat as you man...no FB or IG. No shame in that... even if it does make us seem like 90 year old men lol
I made mine because Ray, Dutch or Carlo talked me into it.
It's actually a better platform for builders looking for builds and other builders.
While there are several good and even great builders here there are hundreds on IG.
Ray for example is an amazing builder but there are so many other styles of builders doing other equally mind blowing builds that you'll never see here. And those #supermacromonday shots are fucking nuts. Imagine a DSLR macro shot using a 100+ image stack to zoom in on just a few fuses of an n80/SS double fused stagg (gregstephens). Or just the frame and binary of a binary helix SSFC (widowmaker). Shits crazy out there.

Nice! Very Nice!! Does not look like a second attempt. Your coils are nice and even and lined up perfectly on the deck! Kudos!! If you want to get better resolution, better detail on your coil pics. without buying any equipment, take the pic on your phone from a distance that is well focused, sent it to your desktop or notebook, then put it on preview, zoom, and crop. You will get all kinds of details from your coil build pics. Below is an example of how i do it on my iphone. The fist is the original, the second is the zoomed version that i sent to my mac and cropped on preview. It has the best resolution that you will get on a phone cam. which in my opinion, is not bad. Keep on building and vape on man!

Don't use the zoom on a phone. The digital zoom is worse than just cropping it all the way down.

I agree, but that's why you send the pic to a desk top or notebook before zooming and cropping. Its not going to give you the same results as coil builders that use special equipment to take snaps of their coils, but it does improve the resolution and saves you tons of money. If you're on a budget....

Oh, by the way, those pics you posted of your builds, You are using special equipment to take them right? Those are beautiful, by the way! I wish i could build like that! lol My best build right now is the fused Clapton. But at least i take comfort in knowing i pull it off without a jig. lol

The resolution is just a pixel count. It doesn't really matter. My builds are shot with a shitty Sony phone (horrid rendering) and a $15 clip on macro.
Basically anyone should be able to get better picture than me unless you're using a potato.
The resolution and megapixels are pretty much useless figures. All that matters is how the light is rendered into digital data which is why Galaxys can take a better picture than every other phone on the market despite others having a higher MP.
The last post I made was an example of what is on IG... those are using DSLR, tubes, macro and focus stacking.
However anyone can get a $15 clip on macro and get decent pictures. These are only 1100 pixels square at most and taken with a...potatoe.
If I actually put effort onto them I could stack them and get 100x better shots with the same potato but my job doesn't leave me much time to do much anymore.

More awesome coils! Works of art man! Your a great builder! I love the first one the most. I was checking a utube video there is this builder that uses photoshop to merge layer of his coil pics, but he had some fancy camera. I don't know how good photoshop will do with an iphone 6 pic, but i did hear the iphone 7 has a macro lens. I have seen those macro lenses your talking about. Apple has the olloclip, but it sets you back 80 bucks. There is some online ranging from 4 to 15 bucks, but I don't know how good they are. However, you say you took these pics with a 15 buck macro lens so now I'm thinking of buying one lol. Your pics are not bad at all, they look great! Definitely better than the ones i took with my iphone 6. lol Pherhaps if someday i can build like you, I might invest on some macro photography equipment. Thanks.

Focus Stacking, lighting and a Steady Hand was the biggest factors involved in getting shots like this. With a Vise or a good tripod and some lighting you should be able to pull off similar results.

Looks Sick on that Goon 1.5 :) how have You liked that RDA so far?

I wanna score one of those Deathwish Modz Deathtraps but 30mm will look goofy on any of my Mods LOL!

I have only built on both of them so far but I like everything about them. The Goon 1.5 is better for builders then its OG counterpart. The Death Trap is a building platform through and through...Id have to get a HOG V3 to use it to its potential.

Finally gave the Double Framed Alien Staggerton a try...

The good thing about phone cameras now days is even if you have a crappy potato you can still get some pretty acceptable pics! Your pics have always been impressive. Between you and the other phone photographers it's really helped me make better quality shots. The first build shots I posted here were really bad! I'm still using the same phone now as I did then but you can't tell by the pics. I credit all my progression to you guys.

Man, if you guys can take photos like these ones using a "potato" phone camera, whats the use of buying macrophotography equipment. I don't see how you can improve on these pics. They are excellent.

3 x 28 / 36 - 6 wrap 3mm in the Hadley
mohawk. Sorry but all I gots is a iPhone for camera.
No apologies needed here, all i have is an iPhone camera also and my pictures are not half as good. They are kind of blurry and the detail is not as good. I'm assuming you have the iphone 7 with macro. Unfortunately for me, I have the 6plus so I don't have macro on my camera. Raymo2u used a zomei and a galaxy and his pics are amazing. I am getting one of those fisheye's! I didn't know you could take pictures like that for 15 bucks. Love those triple cores man. Thats an alien rap right? The taste on those things must be stellar.

The AFC sides kept catching my wicking with the CSMNT and the amount of airflow killed it for more...other then that its a great RDA...just not for me. Another great postless RDA to check into is the Sleeper RDA...now that is a beast.

I like the CSMNT! I haven't had too much wick/airflow problems, but the only gripe I do have with it is that it twists ur legs when tightening the screws but it's not too big of a problem after u know that it's gonna do it and position them the way that u want them to twist. Flavor is very nice on it!
