Looking for help - can pay!

Hi, we are considering opening up a vape store and would appreciate some help in knowing which flavour companies are the best (we want to make our own juice), what additives to use (sucralose, compounds for smoothness, etc ) what steeping method we should use, etc. We are hoping to create several lines.

If you help us get through at least one recipe, we would be happy to pay you for your time or provide you with some goodies.

Thank you
Matt P.

I think you can't go wrong with Flavourart. There are some Inawera flavors that are good too. But as a whole I think Flavourart. I'm sure others will chime in.

I agree with @Heartsdelight about flavourart and inawera. I could do with only those 2 companies.

Making juice is not tough. But it takes a good amount of trial and error and "flavor hoarding" to really make a better than average juice. So, making awesome (awesome enough to sell) juice is tough and takes experience.

Not trying to dissuade you, but with a saturated juice market I dont know if the money is in it. Plus if you are in the US, will need to jump through FDA hoops to market your juice. And, I assume by the question you asked that you are inexperienced at making juice.

My advice: absolutely get into making diy juice. Get really good at it. Then consider the business options.

One thing you could do, to be different: HAVE A HIGH-PG LINE AVAILABLE!!!!!!!!! Not everyone wants to be a human fog machine, and some folks literally CANNOT vape high-VG, despite the current fad for it.

And I don't just mean 70%, 75%... I mean high-PG like used to be NORMAL: 85%!

But a lot of people can't tolerate high pg juice. Even vaping 50/50 made my nose run if vaped all day.

A runny nose beats hell out of a total inability to breathe!!!

And I never said to make ALL their juice high-PG... just have some available! The rest of you cloud chasing fools can vape all that thick shit you want, you can get it anywhere! Everywhere! There should be SOMETHING for the rest of us!!!!!

Brush up on the FDA laws, if nothing changes in the next year nobody will be in business (legally) unless you have a few million to invest in each flavor you want approved, if they approve it, if they don't there are no refunds, and like anything else the FDA approves or doesn't approve, the timeline is usually years not months.

Ah hell man you don't actually have to take the time to learn anything.....just put in alot of flavoring, and lots of sweetners, come up with some idiotic names like .".Zombie piss"..or "sex lube" for the names of your juice, and make a website with half naked women in suggestive poses...oh and buy a bunch of black t-shirts.

Yep isn't it getting about time to register all your SKU's and ingredients with the FDA?
It got delayed but I think it is no more than 60 days away now?
I kinda lost the timetable track with the couple of delays.

Yeah kinda risky getting into juice production and such now.

That's interesting. When I go over 60 VG, my nose runs constantly and I get cold sores. I make everything at 40/60 vg and I'm fine.

Same with me. Except for the cold sores.
I am down to 40% VG though.

I vape VG for all the same reasons you guys vape PG lol. PG makes my throat hurt and makes me cough. I dont even look at Ejuice places or go to vape shops anymore I just would have figured there were high PG lines and high VG lines.

It's pretty much all high-VG now. MyFreedomSmokes' standard house line was 85% PG when I started in 2014; no idea what it is now, but I bet it's at least 50/50. To me, that's high VG! 33% VG gave me a godawful asthma attack!

I have had asthma attacks from vaping too. I didn't know what to call them until now. If you ever want a juice that has high PG https://highbrowvapor.com/ is great. Very flavorful.

They don't actually tell you what the ratio is; the only figures I saw were for "mix", 70/30 (PG/VG) -- which isn't high PG at all. I have to have AT LEAST 85% PG, or I can't breathe, however if it goes as high as 90%, I start having the "burning", irritation problems that others experience at anything over 50/50.

This is why I started making my own; I can't expect the industry to cater to my needs, just as I can't expect the food industry to keep that poisonous sulfite shit out of food, either. (which does nothing but preserve color!) But if ejuice makers want to seduce any DIYers into purchasing premade ejuice with its outrageous markup, then they need to offer a little something for a lot more vapers than just those who want clouds that look like fucking whipped cream -- not EVERY vaper wants to be a human fog machine.

or if they cant vape PG lol. like I said I vape VG because PG irriates me. so does that mean I do it because of a fad ? and actually my wife has asthma pretty bad, has 3 inhalers and used to have to take a pill every day and does immune therapy treatment and she vapes VG as well and she doesnt have an issue with it , so its 6 of one half a dozen of the other I used to like to smoke, see the smoke , feel the smoke, smell the smoke high PG does none of that for me but burn like hell.,

60% PG is smooth to me with little throat hit.
And still plenty of clouds.
with nice thick vapor.

Of course unlike Andria I vape at 18-40 watts.

Before I started vaping, when I smoked, the only asthma medicine I needed was a rescue inhaler -- Ventolin. But after I started vaping, I had to finally add the Advair that my doctor's been trying to push on me for 15 yrs. I really didn't want it, because I know exactly how dangerous steroids are, but once I no longer had the topical anesthetics in my lungs that BT adds to cigarette tobacco, I could really *feel* my asthma, a lot more than I could feel it even when I was nearly drowning in the phlegm caused by smoking. So I'm well aware that I am vanishingly rare, an asthmatic whose asthma has not improved by switching to vaping, but has instead seemed to actually get worse. Now, it might not actually BE worse -- not having the lungs full of phlegm is surely safer for me -- but it damn sure FEELS worse; it takes me 5 times as much time and effort to cough up anything, when I feel like I need to, and I feel that way just as often as I did as a smoker -- but the cough is much drier now, which is why it's so difficult. And vaping VG exacerbates that problem by a factor of 100, if not more. even though it FEELS like a fucking hairball in my lungs.

Some smokers might take the increase of asthma symptoms as a reasonable excuse to just stick to smoking -- I know how smokers are, after 39 yrs as one. :D But I had wanted to be a non-smoker for SO long, and was so unable to ever accomplish it... till vaping. I've now finally achieved it, and I am so absofuckinglutely delighted about it, I REFUSE to use ANY excuse to go back to smoking. And I really can't see the increase in asthma symptoms as any good reason to continue increasing my risk of lung cancer, puff after puff after puff.... my father died of that horrible disease, and it was awful. It still might get me, after nearly 4 decades as a smoker... but at least I know that I'm no longer increasing my risk of it with every puff.

So I'll stick to low-wattage, high-PG, and Advair twice a day... because it's the only way I can stay a non-smoker.

same reasons? I find that somewhat interesting...

When I vaped high VG juice my belly button itched like crazy! It might be just a regional thing, but around here my constant scratching necessary for relief was often looked upon with disdain. It got to be that I was sometimes embarrassed to leave the house. :gaah:

I'm not exactly sure what your personal remedy for this particular physical malady was; but I found moving to 50/50 helped me a great deal.

Seriously? These guys are going to open a vape shop and make their own juice, yet don't know what flovor suppliers they're going to use? It sounds as if they're never even mixed any DIY before. This is why vape shops get a bad name. I hope they know more about gear than they do about juice!

And apparently haven't heard the first word about all this FDA shit, or why would they even bother with the idea?

I kinda chuckle a bit about all those worrying about the SF flavor ban which does not kick in until 4-1-2018, which is not too far from the virtually all vaping dies date of the FDA.
So kinda a moot point in my humble opinion.

Well Cromwell, are YOU going to stop vaping just because the goddamned FDA says so??

I didn't think so. I'd be willing to bet that NONE of us will.

Nope but I DIY and have enough hardware to last me the rest of my life.
It will hit the non hobbyist vapers and those still smoking but wanting to vape instead.
And also the fashion/trendy vapers.
And those vaping with aliens and other high wattage cheap devices which seem to not last very long.

We on these boards are the extreme minority of vapers.

This year I am going to get another 2 gals of PG/VG (put in freezer). 8 more OZ of CAP Vanilla Custard V1(put in freezer), 1 more spool of wire, a few more batteries and I will be set for at least 5 years on consumables. Maybe batteries along. will have to get some more Sally Salon Coil Cotton is a couple of years. About 5 years worth of cotton for under $4 :)

Those things you are stocking up on won't be available in the future?

Not taking chances and taking advantage of sale and clearance items over the past couple of years.
PG , NIC and such keeps well in the freezer.

Flavorings sold as for vaping will disappear if the FDA has it's way. Why do you think that Bull City Vapor changed their name?
Planning for the future ...

They may be messing up with the recipe packs though...

Bob, I'm in the people business, meaning I have different clients each day, about every fourth day I find out a client vapes. About 95% of the people I've talked to in the last year have NO idea what the FDA is planning. It's going to be a shock to millions of people who just vape and buy shit at vape shops continually.

And that is how Congress has been fucking the people for years. Hide the shit until it's too late, let them accept it as fait accompli, then move on to the next screwing.

Yep. People on these boards are a tiny percentage of vapers.
