Does Nicotine Affect Cloud / Flavor?

Yes. The vast majority of nic is PG based. That will affect clouds... and most nic has a slightly peppery taste, too. If you are mixing with 100 mg base, the effect will be minimal. If you're mixing with 24 mg base, it can be significant.

yes it affects the flavor considerably.....When dealing with this whole flavor issue, you have to keep in mind some people just have a better sense of taste than other people, and people have different standards of what they consider good...that aside nic does most certainly affect the flavor especially if your mixing 12 mg or higher.
Nic tastes...Sharp. Even when not peppery, it does have a distinct mouthfeel/taste that affects the rest of a flavor. Not as notable in full/heavy vapes, but it can put things like citrus over the top.
Typed as I'm sitting here trying to vape a lemon slush flavor I loved in 3mg but is just killer at 6. Only 2/3s of the 120ml bottle to go. Blehhhh.

I started at 24. Talk about a bite.
I'm now at 18. I guess I'm used to the bite now but I have to steep my eliquid an extra week or two, depending on the color, then let it breathe.
QUESTION: How long should one allow breathing as not to affect the nic strength? High VG.

I have experienced the same sort of thing and one reason was when I made the recipe I liked in a bigger batch like you did for whatever reason it didn't taste the same as my smaller batch. So I try to avoid that now and not ruin larger batches of juice so I've decided to make all my juice w no nic and when I want to use them after they're steeped and ready then I just add the nic I want as I go in 30ml's at a time as I use it. Then I can add more if it's not enough.
Also, All nic doesn't taste peppery. If All nic you've received tastes peppery I would find another source... NicRiver, Liquid Barn, Carolina Extracts, and many more if you need more i can help. I use 3mg also..
Nic has a bitter flavor to me that I don't care for. I started vaping and quit smoking at the same time. I've bought way to many flavors trying to find something that I like. For the last couple of weeks it has been all 0 mg or 3 mg nic or both of the same flavor so I can cut it back to 1.5 mg. I've got enough juice on hand that I like or can tolerate that I decided to order some TMAXX's to blend to 1.5 and let steep 2-3 weeks.
I have 2 Smok G150s, a Smok V8 Stick with a Big Baby, and a Smok V8 Baby Stick with a Baby on it. This is how they kind of line up.
The V8 Baby Stick has only airflow control and uses a Baby Beast with a 3ml tank and 510 drip tip on top of a 2000 mah battery. With the restricted airflow provided by the Little Baby even when fully open 6 mg nic can hit a little on the hot and harsh side. With the V8 Baby I recommend pulsing the power button to keep the temp down, along with using 3 mg nic or less. It will produce a cloud of sorts and make a good portable rig to carry in a pinch but isn't a good starter rig or all day mod.
The V8 Stick with the Big Baby Beast with 5ml tank and wide drip tip on it is a better option that the V8 Baby stick. It has a 3000 mah battery. The long and short of this mod is it provides a cooler more consistent hit than the V8 Baby does. It is also capable of producing some fairly impressive clouds while producing decent flavor. Like the V8 Baby stick the only real adjustment you can make is to the airflow. With the Big Baby Beast you can manage a lot more airflow than with the Baby Beast. It makes for a smoother vape with less nic bite and allows a wider range of nic levels. I still prefer 3 ml or less, but it produces a good experience with 6 ml as well. It makes a good night out, or on the go mod if you aren't wanting to carry a box with you. This is not a good starter mod, but probably makes a better for entry level cloud chasing.
The G150 is a 4200 mah enclosed battery mod that can handle voltage as well as temp control vaping. It has a Big Baby beast with wide drip tip. With it you get control over temp, watts, airflow, ohms, type of coil wire used, and a few other things I haven't figured out yet. What I have figured out is that vaping in wattage tends to burn hotter, hit a little harsher, and kill coils quicker. In wattage mode if I run my airflow wide open at at 40 watts, 3 or 4 consecutive 3 to 4 second vapes will start producing burnt cotton. In temp mode using Q2 coils I've messed with it so far from 350f to 600f running 35 to 40 watts. My experience is the lower the watts and temp the lower the flavor and more effort it takes to produce clouds. Right now for really good flavor 38 watts and 600f seams to work very well. It produces effortless big fluffy clouds full of flavor. It seams to me when everything is set right the flavor of the juice overrides the nic flavor to some degree making it less noticeable. It I want to chain vape more than 3 or 4 hits in a row I don't get the burnt cotton that I do in the wattage mode.
I don't know if any of this info helps, but it is just what I've been working on trying to eliminate the nic flavor and provide a decent all around experience for myself.

I could be mistaken but I think it also depends on the source of the nic. Even if not diy'ing ejuice different vendors that make commercial ejuice often have different sources/suppliers from one another. If one uses one type of nic and another uses another nic source, then the nicotine flavor can be different. People often debate about the places to get the best or cleanest tasting nic so apparently different suppliers/sources can impart different flavors that would ultimately end up in ejuice.
