Not sure where to post this..But basically my mod started reading the ohms of my coils incorrectly. Put on a 0.4 reads 0.5 remove from mod ask new coil? put on the exact same build and reads 0.8..something is going on with my alien..Rebuilt a whole new build and now it's telling me not to abuse products..WTF is going on? Is my alien mod toast? :( I cant use my ohms reader until I get a battery at the end of the month..

I'm not sure what happened. Threw on a tank and read correctly..made yet another build. Aim 0.35 result 4.0..that's more believable and forgiving. All is well but still concerned..

Probably just a poor contact in the previous coil.

For example, should read .4

Something was making poor contact so it read as .8 and your mod recognized this as the baseline resistance

The wire jiggled into good contact making the resistance .4 again and your mod thinks your .8 coil has a short

Just a sub-par build. Happens to the best of us.

Thanks! Yea my attention was divided with a Skype meeting. Lesson learned.

Had one of mine do the same thing tonight with a new prebuilt. Changed both mods out to V8 x4. First build read it as .15. Second build as .28. Took tank off the second and pressed fire button to get the no coil message. Didn't see any issues but went ahead and gave connections a once-over with a paper towel. Put tank back on hit fire button and it showed up as a .158.

Usually poor contact causes that. I run into it quite a bit with my avocado 24, it's got a long 510 that goes up through the tank to the deck. It must not be completely sealed perfect or the union where the tank base screws to the underside of the deck in the middle of the tank. When I start getting wacky readings I unscrew the 510, wipe it off, roll a piece of paper towel really tight (so it's thin) and run it up into the hole for the 510 pin. Once the excess juice is cleared out of there and I screw the 510 pin back in it's back to normal.
