Strawberry's I can taste,

INW shisha strawberry
TFA strawberry
TFA ripe strawberry
CAP sweet strawberry
FLV strawberry smash

Strawberry's I can't taste,

FA strawberry
FA juicy strawberry
FLV strawberry
LB strawberry
Purilum ripe strawberry
Purilum sweet strawberry
Cap strawberry taffy
RF VG strawberry banana smoothie
RF VG strawberry lemonade
RF VG strawberry milkshake
RF SC strawberry
RF SC strawberry rhubarb
JF sweet strawberry
FW strawberry

I have a bunch of others I haven't tested yet. I've just lost the urge to test new things.

Try INW Shisha Strawberry or Real Flavors super concentrate strawberry, both of those are more potent that TFA or CAP so the flavor comes through more.

I have my own recipe that uses shisha strawberry that's really good. I posted it here in VU. It's called strawberry Fluff. I just get tired of it sometimes.

I suggest you do a standalone strawberry and perfect that first and then do a mix in a tank with something else. If you can't taste the strawberry in my opinion you need to know how to mix your flavor first. Remember now this is just my opinion.

That looks great - I'm going to try it.

I update that recipe fairly regularly -- every few months or so -- whenever my tastebuds let me know that another small drop in flavoring percentages would be a good idea. You can find both the latest version, and my original recipe, in my blog page -- http://vapingunderground.com/blogs/andria-s-best-recipes.20/

It started off with the percentages at 30-31%, when I was only a few months past quitting smoking, but as my smoke-free time has grown, my need for flavoring, and especially the sweetener, has lessened.

thats a pretty good recipe idea @Mykreign sounds tasty :) Ive heard of other people not being able to taste strawberry. I pretty much dont like the majority of strawberry flavors. I have a good variety for other people and those people are all very picky about the strawberry. just seems like a flavor no one can agree on. I try to stay away from it lol I like FA the best but it doesnt go with much else but FA flavors the rest are all weird candy strawberries and Inawera taste like tin foil.
wish I had one to share ha

There are strawberry tasters and non tasters.. perhaps it's a sensitivity to ethyl maltose some of them say though it's pretty much a mystery, but it's definitely not because of the diketones. I respect anyone not wanting to vape them though. I could never use Inw that high a % myself but if you need that to taste it is exactly why all taste is relative.
Maybe you could try jungle flavors Sweet strawberry, real flavors scstrawberry or medicine flower strawberry Andria or anyone that doesn't taste tpa or cap strawberrys.. the non strawberry tasting folks say they can taste those.

Strawberry has by far been the most difficult flavor to nail for DIY. For some reason, 90% of recipes I try or create, I can't taste any strawberry at all. I'll start off with my current favorite.

Some individuals are apparently 'strawberry blind' to artificial ingredients but can taste something from Strawberry (TFA) only.

https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice/comments/49cap3/the_i_cant_taste_strawberry_club/

Some combination of Strawberry (TFA), Kiwi and Dragonfruit may bring out a viable mix. A custom solution for these individuals is likely doable olny if created by a DIYer with a similar palette.

Interesting thread. I found another thread On Reddit similar to it. Looks like I have to get jungle flavor sweet strawberry.

On another note, not many recipes being posted here. Seems like VU has been pretty dead in general lately :(

Yep I can't taste but just a hint of strawberry from INW Shisha Strawberry. Get a lot of chemical taste though.
Started at 1% and worked up close to 10%.
Trying RF strawberry right now. Might work.
Mixed 3% and was pretty good. Let sit 2 weeks and the strawberry had diminished a lot.

I just read that reddit thread. Wayne Walker states that adding sucralose helps some people taste strawberry. Well, I've been chasing the flavor down myself with no luck. Then just 3 days ago, I started at it again. This time I added TFA Sweetener which has both ethyl maltol and sucralose and it made a big difference. I used it with Ripe and CAP SS, tasted great. Then, FA Red Touch and CAP and again it tasted great. I've got some RF concentrated on the way.

I'm going to try it next with TFA Strawberry, Hangsen, Real Flavor (normal), Shisha and Jungle Flavor, which I have right now. I'm going to start with every 2 ingredient possible with the Sweetener. I've already tried them all without it and was unimpressed but now there is hope. And I do like sugar so it's a win, imo.

I should add that I'm mixing them all with the same base of TPA Marshmallow @ 3% and TPA Whipped Cream @ 2.25%. That's some sweet ass juice.

I will try adding some Clear NuStevia as I cannot tolerate any artificial sweetener.

I find Shisha Strawberry will taste ok after one day. Then it will be chemically on days 2 and 3 and will have no strawberry flavor whatsoever. Day 4-5 it transforms into strawberry goodness. I never go over 2%.

Where do you find that? I'm willing to try it. I'll check the stores here but I don't hold much hope.
NuNaturals Clear NuStevia which I get at GNC stores. I think amazon has it as well.
~$10 for a 2 oz bottle which lasts me around 1 year. 5 drops will make 120 ml of juice pretty darned sweet.

Since you can taste 'strawberries' from Red Touch (FA) and Strawberry Shisha (INW) in you Fluff recipe, why not push these two flavors to their limits. Like Andria, find the maximum concentration you can smell, taste and tolerate ... then slowly scale back with different proportions of both.

When trying different proportions (2:1, 3:2 ... etc) note the qualitative difference ... you will probably need 100+ 10ml test cases. Then, introduce a new varaiable, Sweet Strawberry (Jungle Flavor) or Strawberry Super Concentrate (RF) and repeat paired experiments. I suspect you will have to find a unique combination that will most likely taste medicinal to many but perfect to you.

Good advice. When I first started making my strawberry & cream, I had tried shisha strawberry at the weakling 2%, 4%, and even 8% that others suggested. I could taste it, but it just seemed... "thin". It was only in DOUBLING the last amount of tried (8% to 16%), AND adding the supporting flavors -- DX bavarian, vanilla swirl, and CAP sweet cream, plus a good amount of sweetener (2.5% at first!), that it actually tasted GOOD.

I've since decreased my percentages by a fair amount -- and sweetener by a DRASTIC amount -- but it still tastes good, because I lower the percentages *proportionally* -- each flavor is decreased by the same percentage, so that the overall ratio of flavors stays essentially the same.

What I learned with TFA flavors, and it seems to apply to a lot of other flavors, is that no individual flavor is an entire edifice -- they're building blocks, to create a great flavor mix. Certainly there are some exceptions to that (TFA banana nut bread for example), but in general, you NEED the supporting flavors -- creams and vanillas and sweetener of *some* kind -- for any kind of decent mix.

Somebody around here was mixing RF SB Extract with Shisha SB and liked it quite well.
Using Stevia may also add an "earthy" effect but you may not notice if using just a drop or 2.
I've been using NOW Better Stevia in Glycerite(VG) from Amazon since I use it in my coffee anyway.

I'll give that a try once I get my shipment next week. I have found that the flavor from Shisha is powerful to the point of dominating the recipe, even at 2%. I guess it's just my perception of the flavor.

To date, the combo of FA Red Touch and SS CAP seems the most authentic flavor. I'm sure if I experiment with the ratio I can zone in on it.

After a couple of days I realize that I'm really tasting more sweet than strawberry. I guess I'm one of those who just can't get the flavor. It baffles me that in food I taste it fine but not in the juice.

How much Stevia are you using in your juice?

1-2 drops in 15ml.
Don't think I'd go over 3 though considering 2-3 drops in a whole cup of coffee adds enough sweetness for me.
But I wouldn't consider it real sugary though.
(I put some Stevia from the original bottle into a typical 15-30ml HDPE drip tip bottle for dispensing just so you get an idea of drop size)

Both CAP Sweet SB and TFA SB Wild tasted mostly sweet with just a hint of Strawberry so I don't think they'd be good candidates for adding Stevia.

Artificial flavorings, (basically just chemicals), really have a hard time competing with the taste of real food IMO.

Another angle is adding a bit of TFA Sour, for example, to bring out the Strawberry taste a bit.
Works for some but if you go much higher than 1% it can actually help fade the SB even more.

And some were also adding 0.5% FA/INW Raspberry trying to get the SB to pop more.

FE makes a Strawberry that's somewhat like FA's in that it has a bit of a "wild/green/earthy" going on.

I'll give that a try once I get my shipment next week. I have found that the flavor from Shisha is powerful to the point of dominating the recipe, even at 2%.

:D Probably why I like it so much cause it's dominating enough where I can actually taste it.

But you can soften it some if needed.

2.5% Shisha Strawberry (raise it up, or down, if needed)

1% INW Biscuit = 2% FA Cookie IMO
It's close anyway.
And JF Biscuit is identical to INW me thinks.

I used 1% cookie in your vanilla ice cream recipe and it turned out pretty good. Might have to do the same in the strawberry recipes. Money's pretty tight. Idk when I'll order again

7.5% INW Shisha Strawberry
.7 % INW Red Dragon fruit

The Dragon fruit takes a bit off the sweet edge of the Shisha and provides a tad of complexity without providing any Red Dragon fruit flavor.

It tastes to me exactly like "scotch shortbread", if you know what that tastes like -- kinda buttery, not terribly sweet, but definitely a cookie of the shortbread variety. But the INW biscuit is REALLY strong, so be careful; it can overpower other flavors in nothing-flat.

Thanks for all the info. It's definitely a laborious process, but I hope it's worth it.

I've tried a mixing a few things with strawberry. To date, I think the best is FA Pear. I don't have Sour, but I'll try some Lemon Sicily it should have a similar effect.

The recipes are great, and I have lots of others for strawberry as well. I really want to find the strawberry first. So many recipes I've tried and I usually just taste the other ingredients, for example, NY Cheesecake just really stands out for me. I can't use TFA VBIC so I use other brands, but it also just takes over, even at low %s.

It's a good thing I love Cinnamon, Apple and Lemon vapes.

Ok, tonight I pulled out a bottle of the Sweet & Creamy Strawberry posted on these boards. I had made a bunch of this using various brands. This particular bottle I had put Shisha S. @ 4%. It was my first time using it and I decided I just didn't like the brand. Tonight I put it in an RDA and I'm amazed how much the taste has improved. The initial floral, artificial taste has dissipated and it actually tastes fruity. Here's the thing, I mixed this on May 19, exactly 2 months ago. Interesting that after that much time it tastes so good now.

Mouthfeel or moistness or idk seems like everything needs something drives me crazy lol.. is it a dry biscuit like a real biscuit or is it a buttery biscuit, doughy, fluffy, homemade or out of a can? Sry for all the questions but you seem to use the flavor a lot and I need to know..;))

I think the term "Biscuit" refers to something akin to Cookies but mostly used across the pond from US.
More like a buttery cookie and it has some AP built in that does some neat tricks in many recipes IMO.
Don't think I've found anything that was nasty when I added Biscuit.
Seems stronger than FA Cookie to me but fairly close in taste I think.

I've heard some even liked the FA Cookie stand alone around 4%.
But I wouldn't go over 2% with INW Biscuit.
You can add 1% FA Marshmallow & 1% FA Meringue to either one for more sweetness.
0.5% FA Zeppola for even more sweetness.
It should become more like sugar cookies if my "guesser" is right.

I used 1% cookie in your vanilla ice cream recipe and it turned out pretty good. Might have to do the same in the strawberry recipes. Money's pretty tight. Idk when I'll order again

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Might be worth trying 1.5-2% next time.

I promise it won't taste bad, (crosses fingers).

:D Probably why I like it so much cause it's dominating enough where I can actually taste it.

But you can soften it some if needed.

Strawberry Ice Cream

2.5% Shisha Strawberry (raise it up, or down, if needed)
4% TFA Vanilla Bean
2% TFA Dairy Milk
1% INW Biscuit
1% FA Marshmallow
1% FA Meringue

or
Strawberry Biscuits

2.5% INW Shisha Strawberry
1% INW Biscuit
1% INW Shisha Vanilla
1% INW Vanilla Bourbon (or use FA)

Vanilla Swirl is the diketone-free version of their Vanilla Custard; it's very good. Sweet, and though perhaps not as custardy as the original, there's something more going on than "plain vanilla". To get a real custard taste and maintain zero diketones, combine it with TFA DX Bavarian, say about 4 or 5 % of each. I have TFA Whipped Cream; didn't know they made a vanilla whipped cream. It's very light, but tasty, and also diketone-free, but does contain triacetin, if you care. Supposely that's a fairly inert substance.
