Good morning ya'll.

'On awakening let us think about the twenty-four hours ahead. We consider our plans for the day. Before we begin, we ask God to direct our thinking, especially asking that it be divorced from self-pity, dishonest or self-seeking motives. Under these conditions we can employ our mental faculties with assurance for after all God gave us brains to use. Or thought-life will be placed on a much higher plane when our thinking is cleared of wrong motives.'

As far as donations go, I would check out the PIF (Pay It Forward) threads on this and other forums. Good luck.

On the recovery front, congratulations. One of difficult hurdles is behind you- getting clean and staying that way long enough to get all of the chemicals out of your system.
Now comes the biggest struggle for most people- the mental and emotional aspects of staying clean. I do not want you to think that I am being discouraging. I'm not. I've been there too.
It won't be easy but it will be as HARD as you want to make it.
I don't know you personally but I do know addicts. Every one of us, EVERY ONE, somewhere in the back of our minds, harbors the thoughts that we are different. That we are special. That we can figure a way out of this on our own terms.
We say things to ourself like, "They don't know me." or " I'm not like them." or the most dangerous of all, " I can do it my way and I will be okay."
Addiction makes three promises - jails, institutions and death. These thoughts will land you in one, or all, of those three places. Along the way, it will destroy everything in your life that you hold precious- your family, friends, self-worth,
everything.
Recovery doesn't just happen, it's a process. And there are no shortcuts.
Listen to what your counselors have to say. Listen to what other addicts have to say. Ask them how they did it. Get phone numbers that you can call when you are struggling can stick close to people that are doing the right things.
Most importantly, remember this- your way didn't work.
Now, on a positive note, you have broken the physical need to use. From here on out it's a choice. This is both the easiest thing in the world, and the hardest.
Don't worry about how you're going to stay clean in the future. Concentrate on how to stay clean in the moment. That's all.
Recovery and staying clean is just like life- a series of small choices that we make at any given moment. We make thousands of choices throughout our day. All we have to do is make the right choice when one is presented to us.
It's the little things that we do that will help keep us clean or trip us up. Do what's right, right then, and let the big picture take care of itself.
Good luck and just remember that you are not alone in this journey.
