Just got my first proper vape kit, help needed

I decided I wanted to quit smoking and after trying a couple of cheap e cigs over the last couple of years I decided to get something decent and really give it a go. Bought myself an Ikkon 220, I need some help with the settings please.
Had a blast on it this evening and nearly blew my head off, what settings should I be using for plenty of vapour but also leaving the flesh on my throat? I watched a 30 tutorial with a nice Scottish fellow but I don't understand all the terminology.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I apologise in advance for being dense.

The lower the power/watts number the cooler the vape. Too high and you can burn your wicking in your coil and then it tastes horrible and that coil/wick is toast. Prime/wet your coils when installing them with a few drops of juice on the inside. A dry coil will burn even at low watts.
find the watts that work best for you and do not give you too hot or burned hits.

I have put a few drops on the coil, it has three coils so I did them all. On the tutorial I watched and in the instructions it refers to a setting for stainless steel, nickel etc, I don't understand what these settings are for and if I should alter them? At present I have it on 70w with the air opening wide open. Should I look at reducing that? I'm also using 12% nicotine, is that too much?

Nickel is strictly for Temp control, SS can be used for TC and Power Mode/Watts, because of your lack of learning curve I recommend you have the mod set for watts. It's all subjective, start low and work up until you get the flavor and vape you like, because vaping can be intense, I recommend 6mg nic and possibly 3mg.

Like others said, start low and work your way up. You can also try adjusting airflow until you get the best flavor

don't worry about temp control yet. first learn what you like and dislike about vaping. things to try, low med and higher power. I typically vape at 65w which I'm finding now I don't really need to go that high. some people definition of high is over 100w and to me 65w is high. also find how tight you like the inhale. adjust the airflow until you find a spot which you like to vape. that will usually set the tone for how much power and resistance of coils. try things out, there really isn't a wrong way to do things. low resistance, wide open air flow and high power or low resistance, closed down airflow and lower power. most people fit into one of those two categories. good luck and have fun. you will find your tastes are very different from ours.

Like everyone else has start low an work your way up, it's important as this helps break in the coil but obviously you need to find your sweet spot too :)
Sounds like you are vaping too high if it's blowing your head off, try reducing.
70 watts would blow my head off too haha.
Just experiment an find what you like.
How's the kit btw??

Awesome that you want to try quit the stinkies and bought yourself another device to try! I would say well done on this because at first the smaller devices didn't do it for me... I really quit with a lot more ease when I got my first dual battery device... The flavor and vapour production was amazing and I got quite enough Nicotine in, I would think... I started on about 25 - 30Watts on pre built coils (like the ones you mentioned)

It was an adjustment for me to not go mouth to lung and therefor I liked the lower wattage as I coughed far less inhaling.
Maybe also mention the terminology you don't understand and we will be happy to try and help and explain it all to you :)

Keep Vaping man! :)

Cousin has IKonn w/ Ello tank has her watts set between 55-60 depending on juice and/or chain vaping. Hang in there, took us all awhile to find our sweet spot.

I have got it pretty much sorted now, 65w with the air flow fully open and a 6% juice, the first juice the guy in the shop recommended was 12% and it was WAAAAY too much. Enjoying the vaping experience now, managing to inhale straight to my lungs, only issue is it's making my chest hurt when I first have it each day, I'm sure that will pass.

12 would be too much for me at 65 watts too but I'm glad you are having a better experience :)
I never had my chest hurt, only when smoking stinkies but everyone's different an I'm sure it'll pass as you say

Great! When you have settled in nicely you may want to gradually start lowering your Nic to around 3% eventually... Happy you have it sorted mate and you will be surprised at how good you feel after a while... Blood flow is MUCH better, mind goes clearer and no more stink around :)
