Device advice

I just watched Zophie Vapes newest video reviewing this thing called the "XFire" and I'm kinda interested in trying it. basically it's this e-cig that resembles a small usb drive with juice pods. I'm completely a beginner, by the way and this seems like the most user friendly to use? But, I'm unsure since I haven't really tried other things out there and want input if anyone knows anything about this or has tried something similar to this product.

For me I straight away wanted something I can vary the Wattage and set it to how strong I wanted... So a device without a screen and wattage adjustment buttons would not have worked. My first device was an Eleaf Pico and I was quite happy with that for a very long time when I started as I could adjust the Wattage & even put several 22mm E-juice tanks on the same device. So I would say consider this... think about if you would not maybe just a little bit later, want to adjust things and then you may want to try something a little bitty more advanced :) IMHO

Welcome to VU. I'm not familiar with that device, but if not expensive, try it out. You will eventually want an adjustable device if you continue vaping. Best of luck.

I tried the MyJet POD system and it starts to cost a lot of money and is unreliable. Good idea but not perfected when I was interested in them. Although I did get a Cig-A-Like user into a Pen Style VV MOD right after that so I consider it a Home Run!

Every time I see Manny comments on something I prepare to see a massive tank.

Looks like tank envy. I don't worry too much over @MannyScoot 's tanks. He needs them to keep chugging along as a train. I swear, saw him yesterday from atop a hill out here. Saw clouds strung along in a line. First thought it chemtrails then I realized no, it was him walking to the store. I have to fire clouds back his way with my mech using a tiny RDA. :) ;)

Seems to me that would be good to put in your pocket for a quick puff or two in the restaurant bathroom. Keeping a low profile.

I would suggest going to a local vape shop and seeing if they will let try a few devices. Some will still do this and you will likely see the benefit of getting a simple mod over this device. The problem I see right off is you are limited on flavor and nicotine strength options right out of the gate. With a mod you have so many flavors and strength options that you can tailor to your desires. They are relatively easy to use, and I think in the end, you will be happier with a mod. Just my opinion though.

If I was starting vaping all over again, I would go a little more advanced than what the OP posted. Yes, there is a learning curve but it comes fast. I could see you getting tired of that pretty quickly.

I would look at the battlestar or charon or voopoo drag. Yes you need a tank so I would get a pharoah rta. Coil building is not hard.

Guess this is advanced, kind of, but by the time you get where you want with vaping, starting with what the OP suggested, you would be so deep money wise.

How's that.

Edit. Of the three I would get the charon or drag. I have tanks that don't work on the battlestar.

Forgot you need batteries and a charger too. Oh well, it's a fun hobby.

Those are all way too advanced for the OP's needs.
Plus he already has a decent mod.
So he only needs a tank.Preferably a MTL tank.
The Smok Spirals Plus is an awesome MTL flavor chaser.Plus it looks super sexy atop a AL85.Which is the device the OP already owns.
I'm using that exact setup right now.
My phone is currently charging so I can't put in a #hand-check.

I couldn't in good conscience recommend a RTA/RDA/RDTA to a newbie vaper.

The coils that come installed aren't bad. I'm not the best tutor for telling you how to go about using them. I learned from old youtube videos.

Use the coils it came with and watch a YouTube video on how to install, prep and wick them.

I myself have the big baby beast with the Rba deck and the cloud beast with the Rba deck in it also....the coils that come in them are great coils, you just need to learn to pulse the coils before installing your cotton to wick them, they usually need to be heated up a couple times then squeeze the coils together a little while they are still hot with a pair of tweezers, you want to see both coils heat up evenly at the same rate, glowing from the middle out towards the ends. After thats done let them cool, wick your cotton into them right and prime it with a little juice, then put the tank together and fill it, then let it sit for 30min to an hour to properly wick a little more before using. They usually come out to around .25-.3 ohm out of the box with the preinstalled coils. You can buy premade coils that are ready to install if you arent comfortable making your own....thats still alot cheaper than buying Smok coils that may or may not be authentic ones....they last longer also in my opinon. You can simply remove the cotton and rewick when you want to change flavors.

The Big Baby Beast with Q2 or X4 coils is also a great setup and easy to change for beginners, both produce great flavor and clouds. Stay away from the T8 coils, they burn out too easily and are more of a high wattage coil in my opinion.....the Q2 and X4 work real well at 30-80 watts, but ive noticed smoks suggested wattage range is a little over rated, i keep them at lower wattage and they last alot longer.

The cloud beast is my all day setup, on a Sigelei 220w mod and i love it with the Rba deck. Used big baby beast for a long time though. I believe the big baby beast is a great beginner choice for the AL85 mod, you'll love it. Smok tanks are all i use besides a couple small Rda's for when im just chilling at home.

If you want a small and simple mod like whats in the original post, a smok stick with a baby beast or big baby beast is a great combo....find you a .15 or .25 coil to put in it and it will produce great flavor and clouds all day long.

Is this to stop smoking? I have to think it is because the pods have nic.
Consider that you'll have to spend your $50+ just to find out if you like the vape it gives you or not. If not, well, there's no adjusting the power, or air flow, or juice flavors, or nic level, and your $50 lighter and still buying/smoking while your looking.
Even if you do like the vape it gives you, the pods are sold as:
4 Pods Pack - Each XFire Pod contains 0.75ml with 5% Nicotine = $15.00 plus shipping.
That's big doe in the juice world. Each pod is 0.75ml which is an extremely small amount, so is 5% nic for the majority of ppl just starting and wanting to not smoke. Also very limited in flavor selection.

Good news is, you picked a device that's $50+ shipped. And for that your well on you way to device and juice choices that have the controls for you to dial in the vape that you want while being very user friendly.
