I only like vaping at high wattages and am willing to buy factory coils more often to keep up with the wattages. I get no satisfaction from vaping at the low end of the wattage spectrum, but to each their own. :)

Yep but the coil says 50-100W on the side!
yeah my auto speedometer says 0-100 as well.....
What's stated on the side is often bullshit! Like the melo 3 mini being rated up to 80 for example yet I find it warm at just 30!
I wasn't impressed with that airflow either, didn't make a difference from wide open to closed really. I think eleaf let down the mod with that tank!!

I use the RBA in my BB's and they all function perfectly. I have three of them and the one that my wife vapes is the only one with a stock coil. She doesn't like the RBA for some reason. She doesn't go through coils that often though. A coil will usually last her a couple of weeks.

The stock coils last me a couple weeks too! I'm curious as to why op is getting 3 days!

I use x4 coils at 44 to 55 watts ( juice dependent) they last 2 weeks. I use them for 3 lol. And I vape 100~120ml per week. I absolutely hate the rba deck. that's just me though, many people swear by it. But you can get any number of decent rta's for under $30. But looking at your burnt coil I'm wondering if your vaping max VG. It's my experience those coils can't wick fast enough using 20/80 to keep up with my chain vaping. So maybe your on the edge of dry hits from the get go. Just a thought anyway.

Running away from "Smoney" big time. My gf will get my tanks. I'm using the Crown 3 and I actually like it better!
I did the same and it bit me in the ass. As soon as my gf tried my c3 she literally threw the smok and sense tanks at me and demanded a new crown. Dont give her a taste!

Lol she's calling the shots here, I use 70/30 vg/pg. I find myself using the C3 a lot lately, it does eat batteries! But my sweet spot is around 40, 50 watts with the BB. I never crank it up...

I don't go above that with BB either. Would kill me and I like a longer draw too.

I actually don't know.:) I got a RDA today but RBA is for the Baby tanks, right?
Yes, an RBA is what you put into a tank (like the Baby Beast tanks) to make it act like an RTA. RBAs are also sometimes called RTAs.

I'm getting the RBA this Friday, yay! Do I need to buy special cotton, or any will do?

No special cotton needed. I have used all the brands that I have with good results. The trick to the RBA is getting the right amount of cotton not necessarily the brand. It took me a while to find the right amount but I pretty much have it down now. Too much cotton and it will not wick properly causing dry hits and not enough you will have leaks. I usually just lay my scissors next to the deck and cut the wicks straight from there. Don't pack the cotton into the wick channels to avoid dry hits.

You want organic, unbleached cotton. You don't want to be vaping bleaching agents. Most use Japanese cotton or Cotton Bacon. I got a massive bag of cotton from Amazon that will last pretty much til I die. lol

Thanks so RBA and RTA's are the same right? RDTA is a mistery to me still

RBA and RTA are interchangeable monikers. RDTAs are different. RDTAs can be used as both drippers and tanks.

I've started to recycle my baby beast coils. I soak them in everclear wood grain alcohol over night, then an hour in the ultrasonic cleaner. Right now, I don't have the time or inclination to build coils right now, especially since I'm starting the DIY mixing my own juice now.

You don't need to build your own coils if you are not so inclined. You can buy premade coils, which are a ton cheaper than the bb coils. Then you just wick and go. Takes less than 5 minutes for me now, and they taste a whole lot better, too.

That's what I'm gonna do. I just need to find out which premade coils to buy.

You can try something like this. It has a variety of exotic coils that you can try.

I have the same problem with my X4 coils. Tried the RBA that came with my big baby beast tank using cotton bacon but seems like the flavor is very different. Would a different coil be better than the pre installed coil?

My experience with Smok coils was not good - some lasted me a week, some 2 days using the same juice, vaping the same way. I've tried all Baby Coils. My favorite was the X4, followed by the T6.
I liked the flavor better on the RBA than all premade coils, but the Baby RBA is tiny, and I'm old lol just bought a good RDA.
I've just started rebuilding, I wished I'd started out sooner. It's not difficult. I was surprised how these vape shops rip off newer vapers overcharging cotton, coils, etc...

Welcome to a new world :) I struggle like fuck with building but my mate works at a vape shop. Handy connection to have, it means I don't get charged extortionate prices & he doesn't mind building for me if I'm struggling!
But I still love the flavour on pre made baby beast coils and they've been a joy to vape.
I've been getting 3 weeks outta them. I don't think the RBA is a million times better but it's preference.

Thanks! My first build was horrendous, but the kids at the vape shop helped me out
lol
I got a Tricktank Pro RDTA from a friend, and it was relatively easy to build. I'll
be getting the I Joy Exo soon.

I didn't realize I installed the .15 coil instead of the .4 in a currently empty tank. I've not use the .15 coils as yet. I like the flavor and amazing vapor production and I don't vape at high wattages - maybe 50w at the highest. What can I expect from the 1.5 coil in terms of flavor vapor production and temp?

And on the note of pre-made coil costs, I have 10 boxes of coils...for all of the tanks I use. I also have the RTAs for them. My dresser drawer looks like a vape shop coil display. I'm set for life with the pre-made coils and RTA, RBAs I have for them.

I get great life out of the .40 coil. I've been using fairly sweet liquid and I believe mine lasted me 3 weeks. Maybe 4 weeks? The .40 coil is better for flavor as long as you don't go over 60w. I usually vape at around 50+ with that tank.

how long are u guys getting out of the .4 ohm coil??

Longest I got out of the 0.4 was 2 weeks. I do get 3-4weeks out of my x4s, however that does need lots of preparation and maintenance. I don't go to the recommended wattage of the coils, I stay between 25-35 most of the time if not even lower. But to be quite honest I hate the coils, none of them provide great or outstanding flavor, the x4s are better out of all in my personal opinion, still lack of flavor. Now I do give props to the fact that if I lose my job tomorrow, I'll be able to get a job at the next Bruce Springsteen concert as fog machine, sadly not what I am looking for tho. Planning on trying the RBA for the bb myself, but I don't know, right now I am more thinking to throw my whole smok gear in the next trash and stick with my nautilus 2 tank. Nothing but trouble and nightmares with the smok brand, but at least by now I've become an expert in troubleshooting smok products, something to be proud of right? Lol

I just think people expect to much out of coils. I've started vaping my baby beast at 40 watts an my cleito at 40 also cos if you vape at 70 watts they just won't last!

I've learned that smok's coils just can't keep up with me. Vaporessos nrg coils dry hit for me as well. Just ordered some wotofo flow coils for my nrg so we'll see how they work. The arco tank and blazer pro have been my go to tanks. Awesome flavor and coils last me 2-3 weeks

If I remember correctly both the X4 and T6 are 0.15.
My favorite by far was the X4, I used it at 35, 40 Watts. Great flavor.
The T6 was nice as well, but I had to use it at 60, 65 watts, more vapor and nice flavor.

Thank you, Simbah! I should have looked up the ohms. This is the X4 then. Two double vertical coils it appears. I'll give it a try it. I'm happy with the vapor production and flavor of the .40. I'm still at 18mg so I try to get eliquid that is boosted. I'm going to fill it right now.
:thanks:

I use the x4 but I have to run them at 48-55w depending on the juice I'm using. Its good flavor, not outstanding tho. It does get quite hot after 4-5 drags, but if you don't mind that, then you should be good. If you chain vape, go lower watt but I wouldn't recommended beneath 38. Then you might have to take couple drags before you actual get a flavor that might be satisfying for you. Might need to go down in nic, I personally can't vape above 4.5 with the 0.15 without having a very harsh throat hit. Different on the Q2 o.4/0.6 ones.
