I'm a fan of batteries that come from legitimate manufacturers, not re-wrappers like Efest or MXJO that put fake specs on a battery. There's no such thing as a 38 amp 18650, or even a 35 amp - the best batteries in the world right now are rated to 30 amp, and most fall in the 20 amp category. I seem to recall Mooch finding some 10 amp cells sporting that Efest 38 amp wrapper a while back - that's scary as hell!

For reference, manufacturers that make batteries suitable for high-power vaping include LG, Samsung, and Sony. Everyone else either puts out a cell with too low a continuous draw rating to work for vaping or just takes someone else's cells and puts their own wrapper with fake specs on...

LG HG2, or samsung 30q

only buy samsung or LG, all other manufacturers are a crapshoot at best

buy from illumn.com or liionwholesale.com

Ordered my Alien 220 kit and AWT 40A 3000mAh batteries from ozonesmoke.com and now wondering if I should have ordered another brand like Sony VTC6, VTC5, or Samsung 25R? Looked at reviews and AWT seems to be a good brand, would like someones opinion.

AWT is a re-wrap company, they've bought up batches of B and C Bin discards that didn't pass A Bin muster from LG, Samsung, Sony, or Sanyo/Panasonic. First give away it is a re-wrap, the 40amp rating, at best that battery is 20amp CDR, that 40amp is the 1/2 second pulse maximum, not a safe rating to put your faith in, for after that 1/2 second pulse the battery has to shift down to CDR or overheat and potentially vent and/or go into actual thermal runaway. Safest setting I would suggest with them would be about 100watts max with the Alien 220w given the Alien discharges down to 5.6v combined (2.8v X 2 batteries), where normally most other mods, 2 20amp batteries generally can be maxed to 120watts.

I use Samsung 25R's with my Alien 220..all good just don't use coils below 0.2 ohms or vape over 100 watts..That's playing it really safe..I like to be safe. ;)
