Need to build a good vape

Ok, I have tried many vapes and wasted tons of money. I finally bought this cheapo SMOK Vape Pen 22. First time ever that a vape didn't make me want to hack up a lung or feel like I was trying to burn my throat down. I have tried different nicotine percentages and different vapes. I even tried 0% and low wattage with previous vapes and it would still kill my throat. My only guess is that it's due to the sub ohm tank on this pen, that makes my throat not hurt.
Now I have a new problem: I'm not getting enough nic. Every website says DO NOT use more than 6mg nic in a sub ohm because you get more nicotine with a sub ohm, due to the way the coil burns, or something like that. So, I'm wondering if a better mod and sub ohm tank, would provide a better nicotine vape. So I can maintain the 6 as suggested? I saw that the Uwell Crown III is the best sub ohm tank. Not sure about what to do about a mod. Or maybe I'm just fooling myself and nothing will work better and not kill my lungs.

What sub ohm tank is best is gonna be subjective. Also so is the nicotine strength. I know people who use 18mg in a sub ohm tank an some as low as 3mg.
Personally I use 6mg in my sub ohm tanks.
Then you've gotta think about the pg an vg content. PG is what gives throat hit an flavour an VG is what makes clouds.
Got to take into consideration though that someone could have VG an cough their guts up cos it just doesn't agree with them.
My favourite sub ohm tanks are the big baby beast & cleito but I went through a shit load of tanks till I settled on these.
You might go through alot of experimenting before you find what's right for you!

If your on a budget the Aspire speeder, that's what I find the best box mod for cheap.
Smoant charon & smoant battlestar are good too.
It just depends what your willing to spend.
There are better higher end mods for $100.00

I sub ohm 9mg. Buy some 12mg, you'll know if it's too much.

Just varies on person. I'd get some 6mg an get some 12mg
