Transitioning From Smoking Suggestions Please

I have gone to completely vaping from smoking and sent my first vape pen (Kanger ??) to my sister to help her quit smoking. The vape pen just didn't cut it for me & I went to a Vaporesso Revenger & an Eleaf Pico 75w. I like the Pico but just can't seem to get a big enough hit off it but do manage part of the day with it...now the Revenger I love...perhaps too much :)

My sister is trying with the vape pen but I think she may have the same issues I had. She smoked more than I did (pack a day) and was a menthol smoker. I sent a small bottle of 6 mg nic to her to go with the pen. I have suggested maybe at least a Pico 75w and maybe a stronger nicotine but she is fighting it. I am thinking a juice with at least some menthol if not a tobacco with menthol would help her?

Any suggestions appreciated. She wants to quit be seems to be having a harder time than I did.

Both are sound suggestions - sadly, the quitting smoking with vaping journey is different for everyone

What worked for me may not work for you kind of scenario :)

Thanks. Once I start DIY I will buy some menthol & tobacco flavors to mix her a juice & maybe just buy her a Pico 75w too.

I was a 2 pack a day smoker when I transitioned. Unfortunately, the higher power gear was not available at the time. I used a Variable Voltage mod that fired the equivalent of 15w maxed out. I used 18-20mg nic with a kayfun. -one of the tightest draws around. I would venture to say that the Dave itself mirrored a cigarettes performance fairly well.
Today things like the innokin endura t20 mirror a cigarette nearly identically.
I usually tell newer vapors to consider what they want out of the gear.
If she want to only quit smoking, I would suggest something more like the innokin endura t20 with higher nic juice.
If she wants to quit; and, start venturing into something more than just a cigarette replacement, look into something like the pico75.
Add in to that the Aspire Nautilus with high nic juice for now and change tanks as she wants to increase the power.
The Aspire Nautilus series, are great tanks that have helped many people quit. The 1.8 ohm coil fires well around 12-13 and does a good job at mimicking a cigarette as well.

This one has been a great gold standard as quit-smoking attie and has stood the test of time :)

I would suggest trying a higher nic content and possibly a cigarette flavored juice to start with. An average cigarette (not a 100), has an average of 18mg of nic, that's per cigarette! So going from that to a 6mg per 100ml nic concentration wouldn't be easy. I was a 1 to 1 1/2 pack a day smoker for 47 years. I started vaping with 24mg of nic for about 2 weeks, then backed off to 12mg. From there I dropped it 3mg a month to 6mg, and am now dropping 1mg a month. I'm currently at 5mg, my goal being 3mg or less. I would suggest finding a shop that produces their own juice and will do nic in 1mg increments from 24 to 0. From there she can set goals of her own. It's tough but doable.

I second the Nautilus, and some higher nice content. Haven't used the newer versions yet, but the original with 18mg helped me quit.

I am also a smoker who has never tried anything more than a NJOY Ecig.

I don't know how going from cigarettes directly to a Smok GX2/4 with the new Digiflavor Siren 2 MTL atomizer that will be released next week according to Gearbest will work out.

I guess I should start with 24mg per ml nic juice or higher if there is such a thing and just vape around 25 watts with the Siren V2.

Please help me find some good juice for someone who smokes over a carton a week.

For MTL, the Merlin Mini by Augvape. For MTL with a tad more airflow and vapor production, the Serpent SMM by Wotofo.
For DTL and if you must have a tank, the Reload RTA by Reload Vapor USA. For the best clouds, just grab yourself a decent RDA... which is precisely what I did immediately from the start (very much unlike what most people did). To my huge surprise, it didn't "help" me quit... in fact I did not even WANT to quit. What happened to me instead is it simply MADE me successfully quit, and the quitting took about one hour, which was the time it took for the shopkeeper to grab a new mod and a few new batteries off of his shelf, explain to me some of the basics of how stuff works, build a pair of fused clapton coils for me as well as mount them into the RDA for me, wick it up for me and juice it up for me. Sure, it took me a couple of weeks getting used to everything after having smoked 16 - 17 normal cigarettes per day for more than 20 years. Yes, I found it annoying the fact I couldn't re-wick my RDA properly yet, just like I found it annoying that I had to mix juices of different nic strengths to be able to get my fix (4.5 - 5 mg/ml) without feeling like sandpaper burning deep inside my throat. Same with learning how to drip on time to avoid dry hits, and learning not to over-drip. But nope... in no way did any of these inconveniences detract enough from my vaping satisfaction to push me back to cigarette smoking. After only four weeks of vaping I had already built my own pair of coils. And these coils were actually great. (Even, if I have to keep saying so myself.)

Since the Siren V2 isn't out, nobody can test it to compare notes but check it out and tell me what you think.

The rest of your post sounds promising but I'll still need juice suggestions.

Hard to say how it vapes without vaping first, but I would still prefer the clamps system for mounting the coil, and also prefer the holes for wicking so the chamber doesn't pull on the wick as you remove the chamber from the deck... so the Serpent SMM looks to be a better choice than the Siren V2 from what I can see.

My latest top discovery in juices is Harambae by Twelve Monkeys. The name of the gorilla who was shot dead at the Cincinnati zoo to save a child is Harambe

At the very beginning, you can dual use e-cig and cigarettes, and then choose a no nicotine e-juice, and then you would quit smoking and nicotine.

My theory goes like this: a lot of people buy a microscopic-size, severely under-powered crap device, or "starter kit" that tries to mimic cigarette smoking and that, BECAUSE it tries to mimic cigarette smoking, it cannot deliver a satisfying enough vapor, thereby it often causes these people to abandon vaping so they relapse back to smoking cigarettes after a few months. Typically they will be permanently convinced that they gave vaping an honest try, when the reality is that they were fooled into thinking that such an ersatz product can be used as a quality replacement for the real thing─like turning water into wine.

I agree with Carambrda in that those under powered cig like crap devices are useless. I haven't smoked since end of August and have changed several devices since. I am currently squonking or dripping with a Dead Rabbit rda on either the Vaperesso or Asmodus Luna. I will never go back to a tank device let alone a cig-like pen. My sister has gone back to smoking & I can't seem to convince her to try something besides the pen style vapes. The ball is in her court and it is up to her- she is the only one who can decide to either do it or not. I still get the urge for a smoke maybe 2x a week & I can vape through it but it takes a desire to not smoke overriding the desire to go back. I have also started mixing my own juices, ordered a single coil Pulse 22 for my squonk & plan on learning to make my own coils: in it for the long haul.
