Hey guys I recently got a multi coil for my smok alien and the juice feels much hotter than it used to, explanations/how to fix this?

I have tried turning down the wattage, tc and even taking longer between hits, acc still it is almost uncomfortably hot

Do not use TC with the regular coils. TC should only be used with stainless steel or nichrome. The regular commercial coils they have are made with kanthal.

I'm not sure what the coil is made out of as my friend is the one who gave it to me since he had a spare but it looks like stainless, how do I know what it is made of?

If it's a commercial coil, it's kanthal.

But what is there left to try? Because I've tried everything I can think of other than adjusting the ohms because I dint want to mess it up

Don't adjust the ohms. You don't say what kind of tank you're using. Do you know what it is?

Most likely a Baby Beast. Definitely kanthal coils, so don't run it in TC mode. Also, the more coils it has, the hotter it's going to get. That's just physics. No way around that.

I think it's a baby beast because it's different from the baby beast that was on my g 150, but I think I'm getting used to the higher temperatures, just got worried at first because in my past experience when it's that hot you're burning things

Check and see what coil you have. If it was the Alien 220 mod then it should be the baby beast. I had Q2 on the baby beast and they recommended 40-60 watts. I ran it at around 23 watts if I remember right. It is built for clouds and will get hot. I used the tank for about a month and went with a new tank because I could never find the flavor and it did get really hot. I did not want to cook my juice and not after huge clouds so that is why I got a new tank. New tank is a single coil at 1 ohm and running 13-17 watts.

It is a Tfw v8 baby tank, the coil recommends 70 to 90 watts, I run it at 70 avid I get massive flavor and even more massive clouds, the coil says it is a baby t6 and has three coils on the head, it has great flavor and great clouds but it is uncomfortably hot, like burns my throat hot

You can get TVF8 coils with lower wattage ratings. That would be my suggestion if you want a cooler vape.

I mostly tried the triple coil bender I thought it was interesting, it is, but it also seems to burn up much faster all I might go back to the single coils

Doesn't need to soak long. Doesn't need to soak at all really.

Oh wait, you're using commercial coils, right? Ummm... why are you soaking it in alcohol?

Kryptonet

Because I got a few hundred dry hits off of it but it's not burned, and the retailer that I know told me to soak it in vodka to clean it out

Umm... okay, that won't help with the dry hits though. I'd give it a good rinse in water then let it dry out for a few days. These types of coils aren't meant to be reused and cleaning them like that doesn't really do much good.

Well I found out with the second coil the ohms were in fact the problem, so he told me to sanitize it and reuse it

Washing coils has never worked for me. Back when I first started and wasn't using RDA's / RTA's, I tried washing coils as they started getting expensive. I tried all sorts of methods and they never tasted right or lasted long after that.

Well I'm New to even having to replace the coils, my last Vape was a manger of some sort but a single coil lasted me well over a year then I traded up to a 220 and we've then the coil wasn't burnt

You should not be messing with the ohms at all. You should reset it to the default mode and only use it in power/watts mode.

Just an fyi, it seems most clerks in brick and mortar stores don't know much and give bad advice.

I didn't change the ohms, the mod did that on its own

The mod doesn't change the ohms. It reads the ohms and the ohms change as the coil changes temperature, but it doesn't change the ohms setting.

Well before the ohms stayed at .450, but it changed then to .209 after lay time I put a coil in, not a single dry hit in 5k since that happened

Different coils will read at different ohms.

Ah, well I guess it miss read the New coil last time, like I've said multiple times I'm New to this primarily because this is my second mod and the last one was a pen that seemed to have a everlasting coil

Yes, if you have a rebuildable deck. If you're using a Baby Beast tank, you need to buy the separate rebuildable deck for it And you'll get much better flavor from a rebuildable tank.

If you're going to go that way though, I'd recommend getting something other than the Baby Beast rebuildable. Those are pretty fiddly and people have a lot of trouble with it. There are others that are much better and easier to build on. Something like the OBS Engine.

Yes, any tank with a 510 pin will work (and that's every one I've ever seen).

The G150 kit comes with the Big Baby Beast tank and that should fit fine on the Alien mod.

Well I tried it and the pin was too short so my mod kept showing that there was a short in the atomizer

That's a flaw on the tank. Personally, after having problems with the Alien and a lot of Baby Beast tanks, I'd recommend staying away from them and getting better stuff. :D

Oh, I don't mean you need to get rid of it or anything. As long as it works, keep using it. But when you can, you might want to try other brands.

Lol I was thinking about trying the New t priv or g priv when I can afford it
If money is that tight, stay away from smok. Its a money sink with no satisfying results. You can get amazing mods the moment you have saved up, in fact for half of the price you could be getting something good. Up to you at the end of course, but might wanna take that into consideration.

Well smok and kanger are the only two brands I've used and knew to work well, so that's really all I look at, but I'm always open to better cheaper solutions provided I can find evidence it works
