What build are you putting in a parallel unreg mod

Hey guys the wife picked me up the tugboat mod as a late birthday pres and curious what your putting in them for builds. Its my first un reg mod. So far i tried a dual scf 2x26x34. 4 wraps 3mm id ohm in at .18 takes forever to ramp with kinda ok clouds and flav. Second build is dual 2x26x40. 4 wrap and 3mm id and does a whole lot better with cloud and flav and ramp time. I just cant find the happy med on a build. Might just be to used to vw mod. 20171018_190327-1.jpg

Are you building with Kanthal? If so, switching to Nichrome 80 or SS316L should increase your ramp up time. Shouldn’t be any reason why with using dual fused clapton coils in a Dead Rabbit RDA on a Tugboat shouldn’t at least be giving you above average flavor with some decent clouds to boot.

You're not drinking water are you?! You realize that stuff is found in antifreeze!?!

I use a quad core 30g/40g ss316 around 0.1 ohm on my parallel mods or dual core 26g/34g between a 0.8ohm to 0.1ohm also with ss316

sorry thought i typed it. All i have is nichrome 80 from 20 awg to 40 awg. If i need higher ohm i build with smaller wire or more wraps to acheive. And it is pretty good flavor and cloud with fc. Was surprised the sfc didnt do that great its my go to coil for everything else. Like i said i might just be to used to a vw mod to be able to compare.

KingPin!

In my defence, I was left unsupervised ^^

Try and build between 0.1 - 0.14 on a parallel myself

I avoid big chunky builds like framed staples use aliens or fused Clapton’s most of the time 28g cores 38g wraps

Edit: meant 0.14 not 0.4!!!

With two VTC5A batteries in parallel I think the sweet spot is around .05 - .06 ohms. It means you could do a stapled helix build like shown in the build video linked below, and make it a dual coil instead of single coil.

I run 28/36 3mm 4 wrap m80 nichrome 3 core framed staple aliens they are coming in at 0.9 ohms. Or I run 25 gauge nichrome 90 mad rabbit wire in parallel 5 wraps 3mm that's going in at 0.8 ohms .

try dropping down to 2.5mm to reduce your coil mass a little bit.
This would help. I wrap on 3 mm, insert them into the goon and straighten them into place with a 2.5 mm, making them 2.5. Also on claptons the outer wrap basically isn’t part of the circuit and acts as a heat sink, so the higher gauge the better. My go to is a pair of 2x26/38 SS317L fused claptons, 6 wraps each at .13
