Parallel Mech box with no mosfet. Is it safe?

Do us a favor and take some pictures of the inside of the box with at least one close up of the switch. The images on the link only show the outside. And the description says it is a mechanical. The more info you provide the better advice we can give you.

Yes it is a fully mechanical mod with a fully mechanical switch, there is no mosfet in there and that's is my concern because I want to run a 0.1 coils. As for the pics I will send them as soon as I got the product it is still in the way.

If you know what you're doing it's perfectly safe, if not no it's very dangerous
Well what I know is that 2 Sony vtc5a parallel would give me 42.5 amp ( taking account of inefficiency ) that would allow me to run 0.1 without an issue.
But I don't know anything about mosfet, I read that switches in general have small amp rating and running a low ohm build will course the switch to fail.

So I know the limit of my battery but I don't know how would this be affected if my mod doesn't have a mosfet.

Here is the thing. Until you get it and see exactly what type of switch is installed. You have no way of knowing what your limits are. With or without a mosfet. It could be a true mechanical in which case you are limited by how much current the postive and negative strips can carry. Or it could be what some Chinese manufactures call a mechanical. Where they wire in a 3 amp push switch with no mosfet. and call that a mech. In which case you play Russian roulette on how soon the switch contacts are going to weld in the closed position. That is where the mosfet comes into play. as it lets the full current flow thru it instead of through the switch.

IMO Mosfet's give a false sense of security, I prefer mechanical mods myself. As long as you know what you're doing you're pefectly safe but again ONLY if you know what you're doing. As long as you're aware of proper safety, keep everything clean, take care of you're batters along with keeping up with battery safety you're perfectly safe.

I rarely go below 0.13Ω or 0.14Ω, just heats the shit out of your atty, your mod and your batteries. But you're alright with VTC5A's but also be aware that the Mod you show'd isn't what I would call a quality device. The materials look cheap so you're going to get higher than normal loss so I honestly recommend you invest in a higher quality Mod if you wanna Vape below 0.2Ω.

Just curious in what way do you feel that mosfets give that?

Very true. And I agree.that the more components added the more points of failure. As with any type of system. (Mechanical, Hydraulic, or Electrical.)

I'm very anal retentive when it comes down to my Mod's, Maintenance and insuring everything is working as it should. I've been in High Tech for a few decades and I know how electronic's fail. Kinda ironic that I've been a Techie for decades, love the shit but also know how more complicated shit gets the higher the failure and buggy shit is. So when it comes to homes, car's, Vaping and few other things (especially critical) I prefer the basic's, old school ya know ;)

There is one very thin wire that goes up the center of these things so you will be able to vape as low as that very thin wire that connects both batteries negative posts to the 510 connector allows you to.

What mod do you suggest I have heard about the Philippines one but those are really expensive over 200$

I've got both the Authentic and the Clone. The Clone like this is one I posted is good, I enjoy it enough to keep my Authentic packed away for safe keeping.

Actually never made it over to the PI, but during Vietnam my brother was in the Navy stationed in Subic Bay ;) But I certainly had fun elsewhere ;)

Personally if I bought a Mod like the one pictured I would go and solder at least 16 AWG wire (if parallel) or 12 AWG wire if series. Then I would probably put a parallel MOSFET in it. The switch doesn’t look like it’s mechanical and a switch built for reliable high current operations is much bigger than what’s pictured. Just my $0.02 worth. If it wasn’t obvious, I believe in margin and a little overkill. It’s served me well over the past nearly 40 years. For what it’s worth, any unregulated Mod isn’t safe unless the user is safe, educated, and allows margin. There is no forgiveness for ID10T errors.

I prefer regulated or vv. Im purchasing a mech pro and can't wait. Imo geekvapes mech mod are pretty thorough
