Hi All, Anthony Vapes back here with my review of the single 18650 sqounk mod VTinbox from Hcigar. Disclaimer: This product was sent from elementvape.com for this review.

Introduction:
The VTinbox is a single battery DNA75 sqounk mod from Hcigar. If you are not aware of what sqounking is, it’s using an RDA with a sqounk pin (which is a 510 pin with a hole in it) and the mod houses a bottle you fill with juice and you squeeze the bottle to make juice go into the RDA and wet the wick. Essentially it turns an RDA into a tank where you don’t have to drip but can squeeze a bottle instead to refill making it much more convenient. It was named “sqounk” due to the sound the bottle makes when squeezed for some reason. At least that’s the version i heard lol. It features replaceable side panels that can be purchased separately. The frame comes in 5 colors SS, red, black, gold, and rainbow each with matching replaceable panels. I have the SS one with the eagle panels.

Initial Impressions and features
When I first got this Mod, I liked the size and shape of it. It’s small and boxy but with rounded edges. The side panels have nice artwork and appear to be plastic with a glossy coating on them. The sqounk bottle has a nice 8ml capacity. It’s just an ok bottle. Not the worst but not the greatest. The tube is attached to the mod and is a really big one and the bottle has no cap or tube. It goes over what is attached to the mod. The spare bottle with a cap is a nice touch to carry a 2nd flavor on you. Finding replacement bottles is cheap and easy but they are all the same, i couldn’t find a different style or silicon bottle personally so it’s worth noting.

Watt Mode Performance
Let’s get into some data. Resistances for this mod’s testing were done at .1, .14, .2 and .53 for the high resistance test. The mod read resistance accurate. The wattage testing points were max watts (75), 50, 25 and 10. At .11 ohms the mod maxed out at 75 watts and 27 amps. During the tests it was very accurate, hitting 1 low at 50 and 10, but on the dot at 75 and 25. At the .14 test it maxed out at 76 watts. Outside of the max it was 3 high at 50, and 1 high at 25 and 10. At the .2 test it maxed out at 76 watts. It hit on the dot at the 50 setting, 1 low at the 25 setting and 1 high at the 10 setting. For the high resistance test of .53 it maxed out at 83 watts and 6.627 volts. At 50 it was 4 high, at 25 it was 2 high, and at 10 it was 1 high. My max wattage overall was 83 so it exceeds the 75 watts promised. The max amps (27) i got from my testing was close to the 30 promised but i was at the watt limit. Had i gone with a lower resistance coil the 30 is likely to happen. The 6+ volt output shows the chip has a boost circuit which is common in single battery mods. The mod never got hot in my testing or even warm. It did great at not overheating even when the chip was pushed to it’s limits and ran very cool. The output is smooth and consistent. Overall it performs excellent in power mode.

Temperature Control
Using SS316 wire with the default SS316 profile. I tested 5 builds ranging from single round spaced single and dual coils, to fancy single coils and 1 smaller Fancy dual coil build. With that said, there really isn’t much to say about this that people don’t know already. It’s a DNA chip so it’s one of the top 3 chips for using temp control. It was smooth and consistent with all builds and feels pretty accurate temperature wise and does a great job preventing dry hits. It’s everything you want in temp control.

Other Usage Notes and sqounking
No disassembly on this mod either, however The 510 pin on the mod seems really good. No issues using any atomizer. I only used 1 sqounk RDA (pulse 22) due to the 75 watt limit but i did test other atomizers on it as well with no issues. The sqounk/battery side plate has some wobble to it. The magnets in it use the battery to help secure it. The other plate has no wobble. The magnets are a little weak, i would have liked better magnets personally or i should say stronger ones. The sqounk bottle is just ok. It’s better then some like the drone but not as nice as the silicon one’s i have. It works well so can’t complain too much but it’s a little on the hard side. The spare bottle with cap was a nice touch as well. The battery tray is nice and easy to get the battery in and out (has a hole from the other side to poke it out, no ribbon) and the bottle comes in and out easy. Due to the tube being attached to the mod, you can get a little leaking when removing the bottle as juice left in the tube and on the tube will dribble out a bit but it’s easy to wipe off. It still has the basic drawbacks of the DNA75 chip such as small screen compared to other mods of late, not so easy to use menu system, the need for escribe to program chip (aka lack of on mod adjustments) and the default profiles from the factory aren’t very good. 5 Ni200 profiles, 1 SS316, 1 power, and 1 Ti.

Pros:
  • Build Quality
  • Watt Mode Performance
  • Temp Mode Performance
  • Good quality 510 pin
  • Looks and style
  • Interchangeable plates
  • Spare sqounk bottle with cap
  • Battery Trey
  • color options
Cons:
  • Battery Door Wobbles
  • Default Profiles
  • Need PC to program
  • Bottle style makes it hard to find different options
Conclusion
So with all that said, do I recommend this mod or not? I don’t like to do hard yes or no. As a regulated single 18650 sqounk mod i’m gonna lean pretty heavy towards the yes. Not many options out there although a few new ones are hitting the market soon, neither company has a stellar record. Not to mention the top tier temp control performance if that’s your thing. Even as a power mode sqounker the performance is great and again, not many other options out there so yeah if you want a regulated sqounker it’s one of the bets on the market. It’s a really well built mod, it looks cool and performs well and accurately rated. Also evolv warranty service is one of the best in the business with a 1 year warranty and they actually respond. I’ll also be adding this mod to my list. This is Anthony Vapes just keeping it honest, hopefully you all can say the same and i’ll catch you on my next review.

Again I want to thank Elementvape for sending me this mods for review.

Perfect timing as mine is on its way!

@benley73 has told me & I have ordered the “newer” replacement Squonk bottles. They are clearer in appearance, not opaque like the ones included. Although they are not listed as such on Gearbest (benley73 got his there). I ordered from Fasttech (haven’t received yet) but based on reviews, they are a clear plastic bottle that is much easier to Squonk & also come with a cap.

There is a program now for Mac users to twiddle with escribe.

My replacement bottles from Fasttech are clear, and much softer. So soft in fact, that you need to be careful on the first few squonks if you are used to the harder original bottle. They feed juice MUCH easier and faster.

Thanks for the reassurance! :) I have hope now that mine will be the same.

You can also cut the top off one of the original bottles, flip it upside down slide it up the tube and fit a silicone bottle over the end. I like the inbox, my biggest con is the fixed 510, leaves a gap with most my RDA’s but not a big issue. Also with the larger diameter hose once the bottle gets down to around 1/4 full it doesn’t want to squonk because a large percentage of the squeeze is waisted trying to displace a huge tube full of air. A smaller ID tube adapted on would solve the problem and squonk much better. Just minor gripes, great mod for the price.

I thought the 510 is adjustable? Mine is on its way.

Well good to know. I was going to buy a silicone one and mod it to the inbox. So I'll just buy those instead.

My God of Fire inbox came! It’s great! Love my Buddha panels, was afraid the Buddha panels wouldn’t match but it’s fine. The bottles from Fasttech were a bust, I got the white bottles  opened a ticket. We’ll see what they do.

Did you buy the 5, 10 or 15 in a pack, replacement refill bottles? I bought 3 of the 5 in a pack & they were the older white bottles

I really want the newer clear ones, thanks!

Thanks apparently it’s a crap shoot, since @scalewiz sku # is the same as mine. The newer stock was just snuck in there, they didn’t change the pics or description. I read all the reviews on the # of boxes options. I ordered on 10/23 I don’t know when scalewiz ordered his.

I guess for some reason I am just not getting into squonking, but looks like there are some awesome devices hitting the market!
Thank you for the review!

Ouch! Ordered mine on 9/18. May mean that the clear ones were a momentary glitch?? Sorry to hear about the newer ones maybe going back to the stiff bottles...hope not.

The inbox was my first and at the moment, my only squonker. I'm not going back to mechanicals so I'm happy that the VTinbox works out so well.......so far so good.

Yes unfortunately it seems to be a crap shot :cuss2: since you ordered a month earlier than I did. Boohoo
I truly don’t think they’re going back to the white ones, guess they still have white ones floating around.
